  • Welcome to the first episode of TULLE SCHOOL! Learn how to make a glamorous boa with me! In this series I’ll be teaching how to work with tulle, using fun projects to demonstrate different techniques. This project is SUPER EASY and requires no sewing skills.

    Love this tutorial! I ended up needing about 30-35 yards of tulle, but love the volume and made it a full 6ft!

      @@athenalawton going well so far… by choice I’ve bunched my knots very close together to make it super super full so sadly 20 yards will not be enough tulle! It’s much more relaxing tying knots rather than sewing 💚

    Thank you so much for this tutorial - I ended up using voile which I think is a bit softer than tulle, but it still worked really well, creating dreamy floaty ruffles, and I will be wearing it to my civil partnership ceremony :)

    this is so cute and so helpful !! i do sew regularly but only hand sewing (tourette’s and sewing machines… tried it, knocked mine over repeatedly oop) and even that’s been a bit rough w my tics recently so i haven’t thought of anything to do with my tulle in a while and i’m absolutely doing this soon:D

    This is fabulous. I'm very much a beginner and I had started a boa using tulle on a spool. Ran out and bought more and ended up with a massive amount of organza that's far too wide to carry on in the same way. Thank you for saving the day! Do you know if you used more layers would it still work? X

    My cut pieces seem to be wider than yours. As a result the knotted pieces look straggly and floppy. How wide was your original boty of tulle? I'm worried I'm using a wider length or a llighter weight tulle?

    Question!! I want to use this method to do the two toned thinner style from the floor show in rocky horror, what would I change to make it less poofy? Shorter pieces?

      Oh Also if I use the 6inch spools vs the bolt width I'm assuming I might need more?

      I’d say you can just pack the knots less densely than I did. If you have a sewing machine, you may want to check out my other boa video because it looks like the ones in rocky use the gathering method. This should work too though! You may need more of the 6 inch spools
