- Alright, guys it's happened the long awaited DIY ostrich fan tutorial!
I tried my best to include a link to the lowest cost products without sacrificing quality.
In the photos, I have two layer fans with 24inch ostrich plumes and 9 staves, the cost of which per fan was around $150, which isn't bad and definitely gives premade high-quality fans a run for their money.
And these are super huge! for reference I'm 5' 10" and these cover most of my body =]

Thanks for the video! Looks beautiful your result!
Thank you very much for this video! As feather fans are my favourite Burlesque prop I will try this :-)
Burlesque with GoldMinka I bet I could try it
You are so talented. Ready to binge watch. Love it. Honored 2 subscribe
ohhhh this is gonna be so cute in my apartment!
Fabulous, thank you 😃
Nice video! ❤
Do you have any thoughts on where we can find these features now ?
Thank you for the nice and quick video, I would have liked to have seen you knot the string tho.
Use some "removable" locktite on the screw threads, to stop them coming undone. Be careful, there's also a permanent version, you might need to replace a broken haft.
How big (long/wide) is the fan stave?
Can you fit both fans in a tube together or do you need separate tubes?
Hello the site for the plumage is not working so I recommend other sites for the 24 inch feathers?
The fan you show at then end, is it with double layered feathers per stave or single? Thanks, great videos x
It’s the fan I make in this video
How many ostrich feathers did you use?
Hello! I know this video is several years old now - unfortunately the feather supplier you linked to seems to have gone out of business. Do you have any other recommendations?
O aint that neat! My wardrobe consists of what im putting together as Renaissance period style. Im working on being able to take anything plain print or pasiley hahah, and wearing it in the fashion or even just making my own stuff. And boy are these feathers not cheap lol!
My hats are fashioned with these and i even made hand fans to hide in within the clusters on my hats. This era was in serious need of heaters, so the satin most likely kept us heatstroke warm! And yes ive passed out several times hahah. So now im making a fan per each hat to suit my outfits 😵💫😅
What length feathers did you use for this fan? :)
24inch
you're gorgeous! thank you for this video. what kind of plastic you used? where can i buy it?
They are staves for fans I link it I believe there are lots of places to buy them also
@@MillionDollarShowgirl thank you very much 💗
Not sure if this will get to you now but I'm struggling with the wire ends on the back. The are sticking out too far and I'm afraid they're going to ruin the other feathers. Any ideas??
Jacqui Thomas you fold them in or cut them, pliers also help get it tight. Also if that still not working u can cut the wires short and add a drop of e6000 or even hot glue to create a smooth bump so the wire won’t hook anything
What is the length of yhe ostrich feather.
How much did it cost all?
I may have missed this but how long are the staves you used for this?
Just standard single layer
Ciao, potrei avere il link delle stecche in plexi? Grazie

Where did you purchase the feathers from?

@@MillionDollarShowgirl hey doll ☺️ it looks like Feather Mart are no more 😢 if you’re still making fans, did you find a good alternative? ☺️
Can you please help me? I've ordered plumage from Feathermart over a week ago and have not received shipping confirmation (supposed to be within 2 business days). I tried contacting them through email but with no response. They also don't seem to have a phone number I can call... What was your experience shopping with them, and do you know if they have any other methods of contact?
I am not affiliated with them in anyway I have just purchased from them before cause they are cheap. I really can’t help here sorry
@@MillionDollarShowgirl I understand. I just wanted to know what the process was as a customer. Thanks for replying anyway.
