That's what I've done too, it's less of an extra step and more just a shift. Thanks

I'm still pretty new to compound bows and am using a 5 pin sight. Ironically I was struggling with this exact concept last weekend. It was my first time trying to hit targets at "odd" distances and I was trying the split pins and sight using the gap approach. My arrows were all over the place! It didn't just affect my ups and downs, it also killed my lefts and rights :-(
When I head out to club tomorrow I'm going to give your suggestion a go. Sounds much more reliable to split pins, find something on the target to align one of the pins to, then lock my view on that.
The strange thing is that's conceptually what I was using when trying to shoot out to 70 and 80 yards using pin stacking so no clue why I didn't think to use the same approach at 35, 45 etc.

Exactly! Let me know how it goes after you try

@@BowDisciples Thanks for the tip! My grouping definitely improved doing this! Now just need to get used to the pin split positioning relative to different distances. These compound devices and their pins are trickier beasts than I thought compared to my trad recurve!
