SO MANY BEAUTIFUL LITTLE MACHINES
Deserves to be a pinned comment.
One caveat about the T2 - they’re almost impossible to get repaired if they break. I had one for a short period of time and the electronics would occasionally act up, so I got rid of it before i had a 1k brick on my hands.
Great video. Always enjoy your content.
So helpful. Love when people have reference photos!
loving your reviews! got my crappy pentax espio 60s a while back and ready to take my film photography from 0 to 100. thanks for the awesome content
I like how you’re not apologetic about liking your T2. There’s lots of talk out there criticizing its price (which is high for sure!), but I also don’t think there’s something quite like it out there. It looks good and takes great pictures. I wanted to sell mine a few months back (because I bought a lens and wanted to justify the purchase) but you made me want to keep on to it.
Brand new to photography. My sister recently let me borrow her Canon Sure Shot Owl and now I'm looking for a similar point and shoot of my own. Really digging the Contax T2 the size and ruggedness you mentioned stood out to me. Also those super cripsy nature/landscape shots you took with it were crazy dope! Thanks for video, learned a lot and took away some good tips and recommendations. Def earned a like/subscribe from me.
Really appreciating the video grind! So much good content atm! 💪🏻
I was just gifted a new-in-box Kodak Ektralite 10 to add to my growing collection. Excited for the spontaneous shots that come from always having a 110 camera at hand.
Fantastic video! Really makes me want to pick up the Contax T2. Currently using an Olympus Stylus Epic Limited.
LOVE it!!! this was exactly what i was looking for. i’m sold!
Love seeing videos about the little guys. T2 will always be out of my range, but the images out of it make me want one so badly.😅 Great video as always, dude! Merry Christmas and God bless✌️
Thanks for this video. I just got into film photography and i am searching for some light and compact cameras that are easy to handle. This really helps.
The Sureshot A1 is great as a general use point and shoot, and the underwater shots are great. It's also great for wet weather and beach use.
I also use a Yashica T4 and a Ricoh FF1 when not shooting my EOS1, and my collection of (shock horror) digital cameras .... Yes I have GAS.
Would love to see a video on what film stocks you keep handy and what you like about each one.
Thank you for the suggestions! I got the Olympus stylus deluxe wide after watching one of your previous videos! That canon wp-1 looks like a lot of fun!
Where did you find and buy it?
My favorite compact point&shoot cameras are Leica Minilux and Minox 35 ML, the Minilux have the best Lens of all compacts, but the Minox are best for easy and fast shooting street photography. I like the first version of Contax most. The Olympus XA and XA-2 are also good compacts.
I have had the Cannon A1 for 2 years now! I take it every, the thing is tough as nails!! The only thing that ever broke was the latch that closes the camera but I fixed it with some super glue and it has been working fine ever since. Honestly, it was more user error than anything else. I would make sure you use two hands when closing so you don’t put too much pressure on one side! 10/10 would recommend!!
Klasse and Contax T2 definitely my wants for point and shoot
I own the klasse and damm am i happy with it
I use my Olympus Af1 infinity weatherproof camera a lot. The Zuiko 35mm 2.8 lens is extra sharp.
I use the self timer for taking selfies a lot. Not my smallest camera, but I like that anyone can use it. My Rollei 35 is smaller with its collapsible Zeiss lens. No self timer or built-in flash. Light meter but no auto focus or auto anything. The Infiniy wins.
I use a Yashica Mat from 1957 with the Lumaxar 3.5 lens for 120.
Mostly Kodak Portra 400 and Kodak Tri x.
Your photos are incredible!
Great little overview! Gotta stop myself from getting more than one!
I had a Nikon L35AF back in the middle 80's. Wish I still had it. Took many wonderful pics with it. Now though, they are wicked expensive.
Thanks so much for this! Sooo helpful!
Great review. Thinking about buying some point and shoot camera
Trying to get into film photography again after a decade and this was super helpful !
Awesome! Thank you!
Somehow it still catches me off guard when the Lukas photo pops up in these T2 videos hahah
The Nikon L35AF is kind of underrated. That and the Pentax PC35af too. I love those cameras, so much. However, nothing I come across replaces my XA2.
Such a good collection
Super helpful, thanks!
Thanks for the video.
Here are the Point & Shoot film cameras I have owned and used:
Diana
Holga
Kodak Bullet
Kodak Instamatic
Kodak Brownie Box
Nikon L35 AF 35mm
Canon Sure Shot 35mm compact
Canon Prima 35mm with 38 to 65 zoom lens
Vivitar 35mm P&S camera with 27mm lens
I no longer own the Diana, Kodak Instamatic, Kodak Brownie, and Canon Primira.
With the exception of the Holga, I do not frequently use the ones I still own.
The Nikon L35 is the only one on my list that is also on your list.
I found an unopened, original packaging of the point and shoot I had in the early 2000s on eBay last night and immediately ordered it.
I use olympus mju ii for normal days and the T2 for whole day adventures/outings. Since I dont carry a bag and only the mju ii can fit in my pocket
Which one would u recommend for replacing a disposable camera?
Thank you awesome video nice pictures
Contax t2 is what I dream, currently bought a Nikon tw zoom 85 from a thrift store.Need to check if it works
Great video! Very informative.
Glad it was helpful!
I have just discovered you and officially love your channel! 🎞📷
thank you!
you should get a harman ez-35 and do a video on it its a new Film Point & Shoot Camera its really good takes really nice photos and i would love to see you do a video on it
What do you think about Leica minilux?
Any thoughts on the Leica CM? Thanks!
Minox 35 is f/2.8, even smaller, and like $40. $100 if you add a small accessory rangefinder on the hotshoe (which it has one of!)
What was the music you used for this video ?
Great video! thank you for your wotk! I would like to see a video about Leica M9 if it's possible. Anyway, you are doing a great job, thanks!
Ah I have plenty of samples of the M9, but would need to get a loaner if you have any connections for one ;)
Hi! I was looking to buy a contax T2 on Ebay and its around 1, 200$ is it really the average price ? :o
you sold me on that Contax t2
Just subscribed! nice video :)
what is a "like gap"?
Yo! I got an Olympus Stylus Zoom aka. Mju2 in Japan a few months ago. Great little party camera to swing around and not worry if I break it drunk. 🤘Nice video man.
Exactly! 😂
I know it’s a bit bigger, but I’d recommend you to try out the Contax G2. You can get one for cheaper than a T2 / T3, and it has an insane shutter of 1/6000 and to me one of the most amazing lens ever made for 35mm (Contax G 45mm f2) & I shoot mostly Leica so I’m used to good lens; the contax probably beats all non-asph Leica lens & it can focus to 0.5m
I’ve always wanted to, just hard to justify the cost when I have so many similar options. Would love to have one with the 28/45 combo, but for the G2 [over the G1], the cost just rises a bit too much for me at the moment.
@@benjhaisch yeah it is not cheap but if you ever get the chance def give it a try, it made me sell all my Leicas but the M3 : )
Really nice p&s collection. Just aded a Minolta TC-1 to mine
Just ordered one on eBay! So excited to try it out
@@heymikkao how much they go for
@@heymikkao they can’t sell you a fake replica right ?
just found ur channel wowwww. btw any info on that leica shirt????
Guys i have Nikon FM 10 3.5 _70 zoom looking for Olympus to exchange!
Thanks
i've got digital point & shoot Sony rx100 mark III and it has great quality and all but it certainly doesn´t have the nice grainy look that film does have any suggest on film emulator or smth? or should i get one of this?
it all depends on what your preferences are. I personally have made my own film-like presets for Adobe Lightroom. cascadepresets.com
Have you used the Holga? Is there other point n shoot medium format cameras.
You could always get a brownie hawkeye :) basically a glorified point and shoot with a great lens. You just need to clip the 120 film to fit inside the camera
Olympus XA is a true banger as well !
For sure. I don’t know if he owns it. Maybe he didn’t talk about it because it’s not autofocus. The good thing about autofocus PS cameras is that you can give them to anyone and they’ll take a picture. No hassle.
Not a point and shoot
Hi, I'm a painter with very little camera experience (or money!) who needs to take photos of paintings that will eventually lead to 64-100 MP digitized images so that I can sell really high quality prints. I have found a negative scanner that looks like it will work. Would one of these lower priced cameras give sharp enough images to scan and print enlargements from? Thanks for the video. It was helpful. And thanks for any advice!!
Look Into the A7RIV it’s 61mp. Don’t use point and shoot film cameras to sell prints of your paintings, these cameras are probably no more than around 20mp tops I’d guess.
interesting video.......me too....have 3 of the Gems.......
Are these all 35mm/fullframe equivalent? Or is there a crop?
No crop
I just got an Olympus Stylus and was wondering what's the best film to buy for warm weather settings?
Kodak Gold 200!
@@benjhaisch Thank you!
Please put the price range next time!! Other than that this was a super helpful video. Thank you so much!
The prices just fluctuate so much so it’s hard to price especially for videos that will continue to get views as people search over time.
I've been eyeing that Fuji Klasse S version, but man they're expensive.
Yeah, no joke... if 35mm is what you’re after, I think it’s probably better than the T2 if it’s like the Klasse W
is the contax t2 a reliable camera? are there a lot of issues with it
It’s hard to know with a 90’s era piece of electronics. I had no issues with mine, but you never really know with any electronic camera from that era.
heyy i just wanna ask what film you use in this sample at 5:38 ?
Gotta be Kodak colorplus 200
@@benjhaisch okayy thxx
nice nice
Thinking about buying my first film camera. point and shoot seems like the place to start.. but I don't know how to identify if I'm buying a good used camera.. like say I want to buy a contax T2, how can I know if I got a good copy?
It’s hard when looking at 90’s electronics but buying from a place that has a warranty is a good place to start just in case. Otherwise maybe buy something cheaper to start in case it turns into an expensive paperweight.
get a harman ez-35 its a new 35mm film camera and it is really good and reliable and since it is new you know it will work
* makes random noise to support you * 😆
❤️❤️❤️❤️
Peace ✌🏽 and 💗
Surprised an XA wasn’t on the list I know it’s not automated but close enough to a p&s
Just haven’t come across a copy yet :) it’s on my list of cameras to try.
The lens on the XA is a beast. Zone focus 9ft at f16 and it's definitely "p&s".
I love my XA. Always in my pocket while walking around campus
You got a bit of GAS my friend
Canon WP is too good
a dfaa
dont take your Canon WP-1 underwater!!! learned that one the hardway
ll
leaving somthing
Cheap and good things do not exist in the real world.
wouldn't it be awesome if some smart guy invented a camera you didn't have to keep buying film for it
Haha but then the digital film would cost waaaaaaaay more ;)
Rate the video! Def gonna be on the look out for contax and klasse, I think the klasse shoots better from your examples so might have to sell up a few to purchase one!
