My dad used to work for Noritsu and would service and train people on the old film developer machines. He passed back in 2005, and hearing somebody say Noristu, like you did, made me happy. I have lots of memories playing around with those old developers.
I don't know if you saw it, but it seems a lot of people loved your comment. The look these cameras achieve is itself really nostalgic for me, even though I'm only 24 and never really lived through their main era (at least not when I was old enough lol)
I own a canon sure shot owl, and it surprisingly produces quality photos!! imo I think any canon sure shot film camera is pretty underrated đ
Iâm in! Got my kids disposable cameras from my sisters wedding a few weeks back. The delayed gratification is well worth it.
Love these! I would love for these to be a series on the channel. Grab a camera from any online marketplace and go do some street with it. Also, nothing beats the way the sky looks on film. Thanks for sharing!
Great idea Chris and glad you enjoyed! Yea, the sky and skin tones on film đ
This is the exact camera my dad had late 80's and early 90's, and shot a ton of family pictures! It's been stored for almost 2 decades now, but I recently bought some Portra 400s and a new battery, and I will be giving it some new life very shortly :) Very glad I found your video, it was exactly the motivation I needed!
I have one of these! My dad found it at a flea market for $5. It works amazing and the lens/image quality is amazing
I'm just amazed at the sheer amount and size of fireworks. In the UK we get nothing like that. Nor do we get great flavours of KitKat.
God I want this set up one day, this is so stellar.
Got this camera for 20 bucks at a thrift store! Great camera! Super reliable. Great shots
Most Canon film cameras are underrated in the film community. Nice to see one.
WTF def. NOT. AE1 F1 etc.
@@paiizuri Everyone worships fancy $1000+ point and shoots, Nikon FM2 or F3, Leicas or any medium format camera had never looked back to even bother with Canon.
I agree except for the AE-1. Definitley the most popular and most sold 35mm film cam.
@@rjgomm1852 ayyyyyy I just got an AE1. pretty cheap too. 20 pounds and in good condition
Truth. I have the Canon Sure Shot Zoom-S absolutely love it. $5.00 off Facebook marketplace.
I can't get over your enthusiasm and your ability to bring your own authenticity to this video. Glad I found ya. Cheers man.
I purchased a Canon sure shot 85 zoom for $5 at a flea market. I shot 2 rolls of film through it and haven't sent the film out yet. I'm excited to see the results.
I just picked up an Olympus XA2, the first camera I bought myself back in the early 80's. Couldn't find my original, so I found one at KEH. (t might have been lost when I had a house fire several years ago) Loaded up a roll of Fuji Acros 100 b/w but haven't finished it off yet. Anxious to see the results.
I just gave a canon point and shoot to my roomate for her birthday because she will travel for a year and she didnt have a camera. I love these because they arent super expensive and make great pictures. At the same tome getting people interested in photography and being able to see her pictures!
The very first non-disposable camera i bought was the kodak m35 lol, but what I've been using lately is the olympus trip xb 401 and the minolta x303si. I've been meaning to develop and scan my own photos hope I can do it soon!!
Was the Kodak m35 good?
@@mihriyam4078 Its more of a fun easy camera, I don't use it for anything important. Only use it when with friends or feel like shooting an easy roll of film around the city.
I have an Olympus Af1 Infinity with the super sharp 35mm f2. 8 lens.
I got it for ÂŁ15. Love it.
This is the first video Iâve ever watched on film cameras and I had a blast watching it, super rad and informative đ
DSLR scanning is the future, I'd love to get my hands on a Negative Supply unit
Highly considering getting one of these now!
What camera are you shooting with at the beginning while sat at your desk? And do you just vlog with your phone?
Kodak S1100XL. Rebranded Chinon 3001 with the fantastic Chinon lens and a very capable autofocus, plus a flip-up flash that doubles as a lens cover.
just getting into film and this was a great vid! nicely done caleb!
thank you!!
When white balancing the film you have to click on the film base (the orange space between the frames) not the black part of the film carrier!
I just used mine to take some photos in Belize. I love it!
canon sx620, that camera was so cool, easy to use, and it fits nicely in your pocketđ and you can buy it only for around 190 bucks.
suchhhha great well rounded videoooo!!! âšđ€©
Found this at a garage sale in mint condition. Great camera but agree and wish it was a bit sharper but still dope!
So hyped for the new vid, keep it up!
14:20 âI donât actually know what Iâm doing, Iâm just going with what I likeâ
Welcome to my life đ love the video. Thanks for throwing it together â€ïžđ„
I love my Canon Sure Shot Supreme, beast of a camera!
I still have a canon sure shot z115. A solid P&S that you can pick up in the $25-30 range
More film stuff!
Yayaya !
I have a sure shot too and theyâre amazing. Really good quality photos
Sick! Love to watch the Moment channel, very rad gang you guys :)
Awesome video bro! I also have the xt4 something you can also use to go faster is the app on the phone to shoot and donât touch the camera đđŒ
Just bought a pristine Canon FTB with 2, 50mm1.8s, a focal 28mm, a focal 135mm and small canon flash for 50 bucks at a local antique shop. What a steal!!!! Didn't need it but bought it anyway, lol.
This was so Fun! Like "chatting with an old friend" kind of vibes
Love garage sales for insane values. Got a brand new super 8 camera from one for $8. Got a ton of film from them for like $1. Its awesome having a hobby centered around stuff people dont want anymore hahaha.
So true! With the mirrorless cameras being so popular, lots of great dslrs can also be had for not a lot of money. I haven't yet used a film camera, but I imagine the prices are even crazier for those!
@@dimitrijekrstic7567 Not really actually. Digital is so quick and easy people just want to get those. So a lot of film cameras get sold for low prices cause people just want them out. I dont htink ive spent more than like 250 bucks and have a Canon A-1 and like 5 lenses. Its really cool. The exspensive part is buying and processing film but even that really isnt too bad.
@@armpit_farts7327 not really what? Compared to what the pricing was a few years back, dslrs have gone down in price a lot. That's what I've said. And the prices being crazier just meant crazy good prices lol
@@dimitrijekrstic7567 lol, misunderstanding, thought you meant crazy like exspensive. So I said "not really" like they arent expensive. Were on the same page lol.
@@armpit_farts7327 lol yeah. Honestly one of the best things ever, getting great gear at ridiculous prices cause people don't want it anymore. Feels like cheating lol!
This was really fun!
NOW I WANNA GO BACK TO USING FILM CAMERA TOO. THIS WAS SUCH A GREAT VIDEO
This is the most underrated point and shoot. Bought mine for like $30 a few years back and been using it all the time with cheap film stocks; Gold, Colorplus and Ultramax. Enjoy Caleb! đđŒ
oh what!! $30 so good!
@@moment For real! đ Came with the original leather case as well. Really good camera! Just recently changed the battery so I bet it's good to go for a while now đȘđŒ
where do you buy your film?
thank you for this caleb
Great video!
Canon SS Supreme is a good camera. I bought one after seeing a flickr account that was using one. The pics really stood out.
That's a great point and shoot. Really, if you compare it to the Yashica T4 that is selling for at least $400, its lens is a full stop faster that the T4 and at 38mm, it is roughly the same focal length. Your Canon Sureshot is quite a bargain. Its a little chunkier than the T4 but you buy a point and shoot to carry instead of a heavy, mostly metal SLR. I am a bit of a collector but I don't have a Canon Sureshot. My collection started when people were going digital and all kinds of cameras were showing up at thrift stores on the cheap.
Amazing camera. But sold mine as it was too hard to see the difference between these and the results of my digital camera. It's that good. Almost as good as an Olympus MJU2. But it is also a little too big. I usually take a pentax Espio or Pentax PC35AF with me. The PC35AF is smaller, quieter, a little slower, but also sharper and the espios are much smaller and more versatile with the zoom they have. Nice scanning tutorial! Thank you.
These shots are great! Do you have any suggestions for a budget point and shoot with a zoom lens to shoot concerts?
Haha, my wife and I have the same painting behind you! Found it in a goodwill and fixed it up.
Hi from Brasil !!! I loved this video and I have this camera! Completely perfect đ
In Lightroom, can you not make the negative into a positive by dragging the top right of the tone curve all the way down and the bottom left all the way up? Does that not work for these negatives?
Just got pentax espio 125 not tried yet but im excited and anxious at the same time
I copped one of these for $6 at the thrift store in pretty much perfect condition đđ». I'm testing it on my next trip!
Glad to see the e Sure Shot Supreme featured. The lens is really amazingly sharp. Totally underrated. A few handling issues that I donât like are that there isnât much feel on the shutter button and also the flash disable is hard to get to.
I can never disable the flash on mine. Seems like the button doesn't do anything
@@RobbyJHope probably are corroded, can be fixed easily
@@deathmaniac95 if it's a momentary switch, one of those rubber dome to the copper electrodes, it's really easy to fix like you said. Even for a novice I mean.
this content would blow up on tiktok. Love it!
You stoppedd by my fireworks station! How bizzare!!
In the Indian market, there was a Point and Shoot camera Canon Prima BF800 around 2001. A glass lens of 28mm, it had great sharpness and fine colour rendition.
Like in Rangefinder cameras, the rendition was sharper than film slrs, probably for the reason that the film plane was closer to the lens, the lens was a prime one with few elements , and the max aperture was a low one.
good to see indian film enthusiasts.
â@@param2014it's hard since there aren't many film developing studios left and also the availability of analog cameras is kind of fickle. For many hobbyist photographers the expenses and the overall inconvenient nature of film most of the times outweighs the enjoyment of shooting film.
Bought that exact same camera at a thrift shop it currently has a roll of Portra 400 Iâm excited and nervous how the photos will come out
Nerves are just excitement without breath. Breathe and get double excited, enjoy the process!
I'd say: get a used original Lomo-LCA (not the remake by Lomography) and call it a day. It's the perfect point and shoot. Combine that with the cheap Lucky SHD 100 and go out and shoot.
Great little point and shoot, I just picked up a Pentax AF zoom 60 for ÂŁ5 including an original Pentax strap and case, it's mint as well.
I'm hoping it's going to be as good as my Olympis mju II zoom 170 I just reluctantly parted with, everyone has their price and the ÂŁ180 I was offered for it was just too tempting, still it only cost me ÂŁ10 đđłđ
How was your pentax? Iâm about to buy first non-disposable and Iâm considering buying it like do you recommend it?
@@ptnnnnn Great camera, you'll not regret it, the images it takes are stunning!
It's not the best looking or most compact and it feels a little bit 'plastic' but it does the job and that is all that matters.đ
Easily as good as the olympus in my opinion.
Love your videos
Really glad you did this dude! Definitely havenât stopped learning from you guys since I discovered Moment.
Love hearing that
oh shoot thatâs boom city in Tulalip! i just moved away to Everett but I lived like 5 minutes away from there

iâm like falling in love with photography and the 35 mm
Bought one for 10 euros ($11) a month ago and it is working. I think I had a good deal seeing it was sub-60 dollars two years ago :)
yo...this is sick
Shooting film just hits different. Love the photos that came out of it
so true
wow beautiful
Actually really liked this video haha
Awesome!
Great job man I luv your videosâŠCan you tell us what camera thatâs you used to film this vid Especially when you went outside and took pic with the camera
Itâs so cool !
Hahah, I am reusing my simple use film camera from Lomography. Pretty basic but capturing awesome moments with my friends.
Aaaaaaa so well exposed sooooo good AAAA
Please! More film videos!!! Even if they are just like this!
It's a lovely camera, the 2CR5 doesnt work for a lot time, mine work for like a year, and the flash disable button are almost unable to use if you dont have long nails, the shutter button can be wrong, but easily fixable, mine costs me like 10 bucks, and it's my fav p&s!
Did you use flash when taking every picture even when you were outside in the daylight?
I wanted to shoot film for a long but, didn't have the time, money and, patience at that time. I really want to do it maybe in the near future I'm hoping though.
should I have the flash on for daylight outdoor pics? or do those have to be with the flash off?
More film videos, please!
Yeah, I got 2 of those for $10 bucks. I keep one of them in my backpack now. Itâs one of my favorite cameras.
Wow thats amazing.
Would you suggest using the timer regularly for the Canon Sure Shot Supreme?
I shot portra 400 on this it came out insanely good
I enjoyed your video! Just bought my first film camera, Canon Autoboy Luna. I had my first film roll developed and processed but the quality was a disaster. :(
great video. I have my dad's Yashica camera , so eager to get some roll for it.
Love that!
I love that you showed this and also hate that you showed this. Now Iâm in deliberations with my CFO (aka me) about what film camera I can afford to experiment with. Damn you @moment, DAMN YOU hahahahahah this is pretty rad.
hahaha MY BAD!!
@@moment Random thought: do you think this was the âsure shotâ The Beasties Boys were referring to?
Sophisticated
What camera and lens did you use for scanning with the negative lab pro kit
The canon sure shot owl gives the same results as well and is very cheap. đđŒ
Would you recommend the camera you mentioned?
@@cvsmic8156 yeah I definitely would. The model I have is kind of goofy looking but every time I use it I love the results I get back.
usually you can only blow up 35mm up too around A2? with this set up how large can you go without having a super grainy image ? also how does the grain looks like on the set up?
Hi! I have a question :) Iâm torn between buying or not an Olympus infinity stylus 80 but it is so expensive! I currently have a Canon sureshot 76 zoom. Do you think I should do the upgrade? Thank you!
the cannon sure shot ace is super underrated
Did shawn have breakfast tho ? Great video moment đ
ayy shout out boom city
NIce vid brother
please do a review of the DIY Recesky Twin Lens Reflex Film Camera.
I'd recognize Boom City anywhere! Feels like spotting a local celebrity
I have now scouted Facebook marketplace and bought one of these due to this video.
sick how much?
@@moment Iâm in the UK and it was ÂŁ20
Did you just pull out the negatives on film roll? And scan it directly? Or you have to do something on the film roll before pulling it out?
âOlympus moojooâ lmao Iâm dead
Hello new subscriber from California
Its not just the supreme, all the sure shot cameras are great. Better than this one is the Z135. Also Nikon lite touch series and olympus stylus zooms very underated. At 38mm the zoom takes identical photos to mju. Look for any p&s that super modern looking, they hit a peak right at the end..
