I spray everything with Motorkote. Locks, rubber door seals, headlights, and tail lights to keep snow from sticking. It doesn't wash off like WD-40, is much stronger, and works to -80.
I didn't have any problems with the shop or house but after 4 hours of sleet and the temperature dropping to -7C, I had to use my wife's hair dryer to get into my truck. How do you do it?
Great timing Jerry.Its been 10-15degrees below 0 F.here..
Great tip! I also use liquid wrench with teflon for my truck door locks and hinges.
Been doing this for years! Works fantastic.
One of the things I don't miss about living in freezing temperatures is having to use WD-40 or Lock-Ease to get locks working in the winter.

Never heard of that stuff I’ll have to look it up
Thank god the cold snap is done
Yes indeed
Just did the same thing on my cargo trailer
Do you use the same method for the vehicles?
Sometimes but usually for vehicles the moisture has gotten past the window seal and froze up that way

Nah. First you enjoy a half-dozen cold beers. Then pump a little oil or pen-oil into the lock, and take a long whiz over the lock.
