- "The Giant Walls”. A project created in Massey High School located on the northern boundary of west Auckland. Sarah Candler, the schools Behaviour support staff contacted Bobby about creating an opportunity for students to participate in a creative project. The project involved 9 artists from the world renowned TMD (The Most Dedicated) collective and 16 junior students from the school. Over nine weeks they engaged in the beautification and activation of a lifeless water tank, housed at the back of the school.

Thats the plan man, this is definitely an on going project that i'm working on with the students so stay tuned.
I went to massey high from 2003-2008 but lived near henderson near the train tracks, i don't remember many people being into graf as most lived in the rural areas of west auckland, but i used to paint the tracks. if you guys had this workshop at massey back then it would've been a game changer for me. regardless i was a oner and joined no crews and although it took me a long time to develop i'm glad i learned all my techniques on my own, sometimes its the best way. anyways its good to see my high school getting some colour and teaching those who are interested, definite game changer for those young guys.
Hey bro I absolutely agree with you there. There is nothing quite like trial and error and being self-taught. I think for me, the workshops are really an opportunity just to expose these guys to graffiti and show them something thats a bit more than just tagging. My role obviously isn't to show them what is right or wrong but hopefully a good moment for them to take it further. You look at askew, phat1, and haser. They will all mention that they did a workshop when they first started and relate it back to being pivotal to pushing them to do greater things. I want to be that person. On another note, stay tuned for 6th October. I'll be dropping the real time web series episode 5 of Phat 1and he's got some really juicy advice and thoughts about graffiti.
Hey come back and visit us at school, the kids can show you the tank project. We're planning more as the positive impact is just powerful. Pop in and ask for Sarah.
when i visit NZ next time i'll make sure to pop in my old school and see these great projects. thanks.
