    can’t / won’t use this SUPERIOR method of alignment .

    I tried this and it’s amazing . Close your eyes. Imagine in your mind where the line to hole is. Then practice a few strokes while your eyes are closed and then hit the ball. The key is relaxing yourself .
    You may be amazed if your practice this. I made more puts this way

  • @bluesunproductions9079

    Stepping back from your ball to check your alignment is huge. I rarely see players do this. It is pure luck if you are lining up your ball crouched over it and looking up and down. You need to step back and recheck the alignment otherwise you are just guessing. I adjust my ball most of the time by stepping back. I have drastically improved my putting. It does t slow down play. What slows down play is three putting. Picking the right break and speed is what I am working on now.

    To find the value of aiming putt from under a string and see how many you make. That is when you are going to find out that is the least of your problems. OK, you gotta start someplace. But when that does not work either it is time to start looking in to how to putt. Start by finding Ben Creshaw videos.

    This works for me sometimes...my issue is I feel like I'm rushing to get to my set up. It does work when I take my time, I just don't want to slow my group. I guess I need to get more comfortable with setting up...fidgeting, while others are reading and getting ready to put.

    • @misteroneputt
      @misteroneputt  Před 14 dny +1

      I understand. There is always a concern of slow play anytime we talk about putting set up or green reading. i never want to be slow and so am always working on reading the green and practicing set up so I can do both quickly. One thought that helps is that If I make the putt I'm taking fewer putts which means less time overall.

    Tour players putting percentages, I would believe, are averaging all of their putts from different breaks to the hole, i.e. uphill, downhill, across grain, left-to-right or right-to-left breaks in all three conditions. It is truly rare to have a straight, level putt on the course, other than on the practice green. ⛳️

    • @misteroneputt
      @misteroneputt  Před měsícem

      I completely agree with you. That said you are always putting straight. It’s gravity and friction that moves the ball left right in between.

  • @scottjustus7428
    @scottjustus7428 Před 23 dny

    I typically spot putt, like Nicklaus used to do. Let's just say it's a 5 footer that I want to hit straight. I hold my putter up in the middle of my eyeline and close my non dominant eye....I see a discoloration on the green that lines up straight to the hole from my ball and then line up to that...without a line on the ball...just looking at starting the ball over the mark I saw. However, I make some and miss some, I am now wondering if I still spot putted and put the club like you said, on my dominant side if that would give me a better "mark" than in the middle of my eyes? Still closing my non dominant eye, but finding the "spot" with the club off center on the dominant side.....or would the "spot" still be the same? Hopefully this made sense 😀

    • @misteroneputt
      @misteroneputt  Před 23 dny +1

      That is a brilliant idea and I think it would work quite well. I always pick a spot for my target line with a thought like I want to roll right over that spot or just above the top edge of it or an inch below it or whatever sometimes the spot doesn’t always line up when it’s something I can visibly see on the green, but yes, using your dominant eye to lineup to a spot would certainly help spot putters with or without the line on the ball.

    • @thomasesparza9175
      @thomasesparza9175 Před měsícem +2

      @@misteroneputt From the book and movie, "Seven Days in Utopia", it's the side-saddle putting method, I believe he is referring to...and it's legal like you stated, standing to the side of the ball, not like Sam Snead's old putting method. Snead pioneered croquet-style putting in the 1960s, where he straddled the ball with one leg on each side. The United States Golf Association banned this technique in 1968 by amending the old Rule 35-1,[58] since, until that time, golfers had always faced the ball when striking. Snead then went to side-saddle putting, where he crouched and angled his feet towards the hole, and held the club with a split grip. He used that style for the rest of his career.

    Three years ago you posted a video, still available on CZcams, entitled "Golf Ball Alignment Tool: Should You use One?" In that video you said, "Using the line on the ball has been proven not to be effective and to actually cost you strokes" and "Does having an alignment line on your golf ball help you make more putts? And the answer is 'absolutely not.'" And yet you say here "So there's no question the line on the ball helps." Would you care to comment?

      I also made it pretty clear in my mind that I resisted using the line for a long time and now I’ve started using it. I could go back and revisit that study, but the reason in the previous video the line was found not to help. is that people focused so much on the line they didn’t hit the speed. so the problem really wasn’t the line, but it was over on the line. Long story short my opinion has changed over time

    I used a line and went back to nothing. Why? Because no matter how you line it up, it isn't correct and now you're line up wrong. If it's set wrong and most times you know it's wrong and you angle your putter to counter that and now you're totally messed up. I pick my line and hit the ball on that line. What is more important is speed not the line. If you're thinking more of line and not speed, then you missed anyway.

    • @misteroneputt
      @misteroneputt  Před měsícem +3

    All good except for the bold claim of PGA part. 10 foot putt with 40% in due to only the poor aiming is incorrect assumption. These guys are the best in the world and aiming is just prior to the execution. Why don't they have ability to do that well? The miss of putt more or less is likely from the pressure in competition at that level. If ones have been in high level competition, they would have noticed that. Golf is play between your ears.
