Movie was corny. Tried to watch it with my lady and she thought it was corny too.
They tried too hard to make every line and every scene funny, and it just didn't work. Eddie Murphy made me chuckle a bit but I couldn't make it passed 20 minutes.
It seemed more like a tv show then a movie.
I couldnt get passed 5 minutes bro. It was terrible!
I watched the movie the day it was released and was super hype when I saw Shulz. When he said he stormed the Capitol and called Jonah’s character gay I knew he adlibbed cuz that’s the shit he says on here lmao

I didn't enjoy the movie. Cast was good, but Jonah & Lauren's chemistry was off to me (not believable). His parents were doing too much. Her parents were doing too much.

Movie was meh, but the underlying messages make it needlessly annoying, not joking, I finished You People and then immediately watched Guess Who's Coming to Dinner, that film was WAY better but it kind of bothered me with both films that the black dads are shown in hindsight as being blatantly racist but never has a moment of epiphany for the them to recognize that they're racist but they have that moment for the white familys? It just seems suspicious, I thought at least with Eddie Murphy's character he'd realize that he's racist at some point but the film's just like "No I'm just an asshole and I regret it but I'm still just as blatantly racist" and that for some reason doesn't matter when you have melanin? Suddenly, knowing there are people who believe the earth is flat without question is not as surprising as it was

Summary: C'mon Netflix has corny flicks.
I liked it too, was maybe 7 out of 10. Nice to see things aren’t black and white and literally focus on both peace, love and tolerance prevailing.
