  • This pair of Gucci Shoes I almost gave up on a few times. The previews "cobbler" had so much wax and polish on these Gucci's that just handling them was no fun and they needed a Swedish bath but not only that the previews repair man had done some crazy resoling that almost ended the life of these shoe but wait theres more..... the owner had crushed the heel counters (not using his shoe horn it looks like) and so yes these shoes pushed the limits on me.

I love seeing your dedication to your craft, evidenced by your insistence on doing things the best way even when it makes the whole process harder and/or more time consuming. True craftsmanship.

WOW! Some major shoe surgery. They came out great! I like how honest you are and that you don't skimp on the quality of craftmanship and products that you use when doing your craft. A true pro cobbler.

.... just an additional reason for a hole in the heel structure..
After an injury to my own heel,
I need such a hole for the cupping effect, it allows to fit my heel and reduce pressure to the heel bone.
After a few days in a flat interior shoe, my back is a wreck, my hip and heel hurts too.
I learned to make my own shoes because there is nowhere to buy ready-made that will suport my orthopedic needs.

Do you recommend doing a rapid blake stitch conversion from Blake stitch construction for loafers?

It can be done however with a loafer you still want the shoe to have as much flexibility as it can and a Blake rapid stitch design has less flexibility
