One of those jobs as a plumber that I've done hundreds of times, but I was still entertained throughout 😂 On a techie note, I've had flexi fridays onto iso valves- resulting in wet vac Fridays😭 (after a week of job completion it split). Male irons or poshy iso valves with flat 1/2" male iron end are the the way forward for me now!
You can get flexi tap tail adaptors 1/2" also in 3/8ths" both threaded to 15mm spigots for compression. Pop you C/Vs or Ball-o-fix's straight on. If you salvage 1/2" to 15mm compression unions offa old rads they can be re-used too. Just be carefull tho, as those Kudox ones that Screwfix are knocking out, foc, with new rads are sharp not flattened. They are also slightly longer than std ones. Makes a like for like rad swap..."awkward".
Nice video, one of my least favourite jobs is replacing sink taps after they've been in for a few years..., I do like when fitting kitchens to put the tap in before I place the sink . Also found a metal bracket which you do have to fit after the sinks is in place that uses the bottom of the worktop as extra support especially if the sink is the thinner type . Good work and hold tight..
Nice job👍🏻. Might be worth sticking an extra cut down end panel in as a divider between the appliances. A bit more strength if someone decides to sit up on that worktop 😬
Glad this video had a well know Swedish kitchen unit in it! I'm looking buy the same carcasses for my home and I wasn't aware that they were not designed to be offset from the wall to allow for pipework-- something I need to consider when I lay out the kitchen!
Amazed you manage to keep a collar on Big G. My tabby Reggie has left collars with attached identity discs all over the neighbourhood. They're out there: somewhere. Given up on collars. At least the little Houdini is chipped. Thanks for another great vid, James. And NEVER MIND THE BALLCOCKS!!!
Tip - put masking tape on the worktop to draw the cut out for the sink which will also prevent scratching when cutting, and you can lay the sink upside down and use as a template but draw your cut lines 10mm in or whatever is required.
Lovely job. I would use silicon too, to seal the sink in place. It makes so much sense and who wants to bugger about with brackets etc underneath?? Another brilliant and entertaining video. Cheers!
My base units have stupid wood supports that also act as a door stop support, that I will need to cut as well as the worktop to get the sink in which means I also have to remove the entire back panel otherwise my sink won’t fit.
Maybe I should get you to come and do the work at my house. You are not only entertaining but you care about your work. Unlike the "plumber" that came to stop a leak in our hot water tank piping 😤😤😤 while replacing one damaged pipe he only went and stuck a hole in the one next to it 😵 P.S. great to see another Prince fan 👍
The next time I do a kitchen I'm going to experiment with fitting removable backs to the cabinets that have pipework behind them. Model makers use a fixing for wings on aircraft that seem ideal to fix to the carcass and that would then allow the back to bolted in with short M6 bolts.
Great vid. I was pulled by the sparky coz my kitchen didn't have isolator switches above the worktop to the dishwasher fridges etc that were under the worktop. Wouldn't that also apply to the utility room ?? Regards Don Codman.
plumberparts It’s helpful stuff. I know better than most the intensive process behind making a video. Fifteen minute video can take three days of work on my side, and if you want the output to be high quality then reshoots and farting about make the actual job much much longer. Anything bigger than a circuit board brings me out in sweats, but with the help of a few of your videos I’ve drained my central heating, replaced the pump and two leaking rads, replaced a crap drain cock and installed a magnetic filter. All using end feed fittings. So keep on making the videos please mate!
Right, what kind of black magic fuqqery are you using to get away with a circular saw blade on a worktop? All convention says you get tear out of the surface., unless you cut with the top reversed and even then blade has to have about a thousand teeth.
I do not like the idea of putting sinks above drawer units. It's exceptionally rare that you would have to do this. On that run with wash mac and fridge (beer chiller I'd bet) there is no real option. I had to butcher the rear of a drawer on an Ikea drawer unit, just last week, when I swapped a single bowl for a single bowl + drainer. Even though I used a space-saver waste and tucked the trap right at the back against the wall, the bottom of the waste fitting and elbow snagged the top rear of the drawer. Those sink clips are brutal and don't work well on 28/30mm deep worktops very well anyway. No shame in just gluing with silicone and the butchering of the drawer is just an inevitability in this particular case.
Sorry! My fault! I ordered the units in desperation so I could finally get a utility room without even thinking about the impracticality of drawers under a sink 😂 😭
Typical woman! Only jokin', Em. I will be e-mailing this link though to the customer for whom I did the job with a, "see, I told ya so!" Square pegs round holes. Hey ho!
It seems to me that there is an increased tendency, in this day and age, for people to admit to and take responsibility for making mistakes. It is to your credit that you take personal responsibility. Humility is an important feature of a well rounded and balanced personality. Regrettably this seems to be a dying trait. We all make mistakes and learning from past experiences is invaluable. I always make mistakes (according to my missus, she who must be obeyed) However, they are often intentional... so I can skeive out of doing boring housework. Mind you, I always open the window when I take a poo and I am the designated house bailiff for evicting spiders.

Yep never good to have flexis straight onto iso valves but its amazing how often you see it!

Ah mate I never show it but I just file the taper off. Never had a problem then.

Them T bars for your tap spanners are amazing!

3:40 this is exactly the issue I am dealing with today. Thanks for the tips! Only needed 2cm gone.

Yeah I've used that method in the past too!
Lovely job.

Great job! I work Union construction here in the States. Plumbers don't do carpentry! I do work like this on the side for extra money.
thank you for chairing this video with us.
Great vid - Use a jigsaw to ‘round’ the corners of the worktop sink cutout. Makes the hole far stronger than straight 90 degree cuts.
James drilled the corners out with a large wood drill so ended up with round corners with no need to break out the mighty jigsaw. :-)
I’m literally watching these for the fun of it 😂😂
You make it look so easy. Brilliant video.
Really helpful another great video learnt loads all the best

Good job
Great start to the day 👍🏼
The cat is thinking "great!, another thing for me to climb on, thank you for building it for me."
Should cut your worktop inside down when using a circular saw.. Helps to reduce chipping on the cut line... But as always another great video!
The next time I do a kitchen I'm going to experiment with fitting removable backs to the cabinets that have pipework behind them. Model makers use a fixing for wings on aircraft that seem ideal to fix to the carcass and that would then allow the back to bolted in with short M6 bolts.
Cool, thanks for sharing man. I got a question are somethings in inches and ft for plumbing in the UK or millimeters or a mixture of both?
Mixture of both same things stayed the same from when we used the old imperial system!
Could’ve moved the bracket on the waste, would have gone tight against the wall then. Good video tho 👍🏻
Nice job. Mr G will be so Happy 😂
top work james a bit off tiling and the utility room is complete
Wow, I didn't know you were a chippy as well. Nice job.
My plumbers would never do that. They'd cut the carcass, but they'd never touch the worktop.
Nice DIY job, next time your get a Carpenter to fit kitchen bits and get a plumber to pipe up sink and appliances 👍🏻
Always find it easier to fit the taps before the sink is fitted into worktop, also when cutting worktop with circular saw, flip upside down 👍👍
Yeah for some reason I didn't do that on this vid!
Loving these vids.
Loving the videos mate!
Great video, very tidy work 👍
Why u didn’t put tap on sink before fitting sink in?
Top job mate
Great job mate, love the vids 👍
Always trap directly off the waste outlet. Any pipework before the trap will surely start to pong eventually.
Great vid. I was pulled by the sparky coz my kitchen didn't have isolator switches above the worktop to the dishwasher fridges etc that were under the worktop. Wouldn't that also apply to the utility room ??
Regards Don Codman.
Might do. As long as no one died an instant death from them being under the worktop!
Good video mate. Any chance of a track ID for the song playing at the end?
what happened to the boxed in wall section at the left of the sink it just disappeared check video
Can anyone advise if i can install a integrated dishwasher next to an integrated oven? Reading alot of mixed comments about this.
Thanks

Flexi onto service valves with beveled edges? I always for a coper to iron as it's a perfect flat face
I file them off but didn't show in the video!
@@plumberparts good idea!
Is this your gaff Jimbo ?
Aight...
5 out of 10
The video name is a bit click baity...but don't confuse me with someone who actually cares!
"A little bit on the whhhhaaaaa!" might get more hits?
@@MarkFixesStuff I guess I realised to do a whole video on the install of a whole kitchen it would need to be about 15 days long!

Actually it was last week...she's been waiting ages!
Argos kitchen 😂
Didnt think that was a circular saw, pretty sure its a hole saw?
Let hope u never have to service your grant oil boiler 😂
That'll be fine. Loads are installed like that.
Your van being left open with tools lying around gave me anxiety.
