Ukraine accuses Russia of using phosphorus munitions in Bakhmut

- Ukraine has accused Russia of attacking the besieged eastern city of Bakhmut with phosphorus munitions.
Drone footage released by the Ukrainian military shows parts of the city - the scene of some of the bloodiest fighting of the war - ablaze as what is alleged to be white phosphorus rains down. While white phosphorus weapons are not banned in their entirety, their use in civilian areas is considered a war crime.
Writing on Twitter, Ukraine's defence ministry said the phosphorus attack targeted "unoccupied areas of Bakhmut with incendiary ammunition" - although it is unclear exactly when the alleged attack took place.

It is not, even though the US used it tactically as smoke munitions to cover soldiers(and not comepletely bomb a city with it) people are still against it due to civilian AND friendly casualties. Thus your opinion here is basically invalid

What are you referring too? If your referring to the incendiary rounds, most country's do infact, use phosphorus. On the other hand, illum rounds generally do use magnesium.

Well that's depends on what your talking about doesn't it? Some in the incendiary round's do you use magnesium however most use phosphorus. Illumination rounds use magnesium. Which are you referring to? an from which country? ammunition used varies from country to country.

It's about how it is used. Fireboming an entire city like this is completely different from how the US used it.
@@DonnyTheButterlord yeah US used it on the population. Russia emptied the last 2% of bakhmut of civilians and rained it down on Ookie troops who had booby trapped all those building with bombs. Russia just decided to pre empty that and take care of the Ookies all together.

@@MichaelRathke-ey5um yes but in most cases the civilians are told to evacuate the cities that's about to turn into warzones and any bombings are on terrorist hideouts and/or places they're shooting our lads on the ground on. It's different because we don't intentionally use it on civilians. We try to limit civilian casualties as much as possible because it's bad for everyone. When soldiers start to question orders,when soldiers start to think what they're doing is wrong then the entire operation is fucked. But the ruskies here are basically doing it like we did in vietnam

Wagner is controlling 90% of the city but has not fully captured it yet, but they more or less own it, I assume they are raining these down on the remaining places they haven't took before they push.
If you look at the video you will notice lots of high rise buildings. It is this part of Bakhmut, where there are lots of high rise buildings, that is still mainly under Ukrainian control.

I agree.. I think the Russians are waiting for the "Spring Offensive" so they can test their munitions on the western supplied armaments reported as "game changers". I would like to see if Challenger tanks burn like the rest of them..
Russia can use whatever they want, Ukraine can always surrender if they don't like it. Is not like west that always let other fight for them is gonna help them, millions died during ww2 what you have now nothing, is not realistic to think Ukraine can "win" when the side that always do the most war efforts is against them

The US used white phosphorus on an unprecedented scale in Vietnam. No one said a dicky bird! More often than not, they fell on civilians. Petroleum (napalm) was also used in extensive amounts. No one said boo to a goose!

Also US didn't face actual punishment for using this and depleted uranium weapons in Iraq.
It is only a big deal until it is not. In modern warfare, after providing a humanitarian channel and time period, any civilian stayed to fight would be treated as "accomplice", they are hard to be covered by Geneva Convention, nor non registered volunteer army. This applies to Russians Wagner group as well.
All the big countries seems to know how to play around these laws nowadays

They should be given to Ukraine at once! If Orcssia is not playing by the rules, it should NOT be protected by the rules.
