This is my second attempt at a full 360 degree/virtual reality video. As of right now, the only way to enjoy this technology is by using your computer or your phone on the official CZcams app. If you try to watch it on your phone through a 3rd party browser or an embedded app like your texting app, it will not work. For those that do have a computer or on your phone, it is very simple to watch. First, you don't even have to do anything as I took the "worldlock" feature off, which means the camera records and follows my helmet like a regular camera. But at anytime, you can click and drag the video or use your finger on your phone to drag the video into ANY direction! Up, down, left and right. I think the technology is cool and is the future as more hardware becomes available for it, so really hoping you guys enjoy this one.
WARNING: Most phones have an accelerometer built in that will automatically change the direction of the video just by moving your phone in any direction. This can be quite annoying, so if you don't know how to disable this setting on your phone than I suggest holding your phone straight in front of you and trying not to move it to fix this.
OK, now that I got the boring stuff out of the way, let's get to the video. This tractor trailer was loaded with approximately 20,000lbs of mail. Not sure what caused him to veer off the freeway, but I responded with Hulk (50 ton rotator) and was met by Lacky in a heavy wrecker. There are lots of ways to do a job like this, but because the tractor was in a ditch and the hill was pretty steep, I decided that stabilizing the trailer while the wrecker winches it back up was the best method.
The way I rigged it allowed me to not allow keep the trailer steady from tipping over, but also to lift the front of the trailer and rear axle of the tractor at the same time. This was very helpful towards the end when the landing gear was stuck and I was able to lift it high enough to clear.

A friend of mine "M.r.Meyers,of North Carolina runs "Zack's Towing and deals with these types of predicaments all-night long. These Tractor- trailer trucks move up and down the Interstate 77 through North and South Carolina...a very lucrative business for sure if done correctly/safely!!!!
I learned a new understanding of Rigging with endless slings working with landscape riggers hoisting trees and fountains with a crane , making up a multi point lift of uneven lift points and have the Rigging equal at the single point of lift using endless slings is an Art or Skill not seen anywhere but on the job
I think the problem some viewers have is that they do not understand the 360 degree camera. It took me awhile to learn to drag the screen to get a better view. Great video, awesome work as always.👍👍
100%. I noticed it's a lot of the older generation that is having issues, which is fine as this is a mostly new technology. I just wish I could walk everyone through myself to get them to enjoy it.

Much easier viewing than the airport 360.. little bit of height adjustment on the viewing angle but a click drag fixed that. Many thanks for the view fix further to our last exchange of comments. I think the only mull point on this is your audio was alot quieter than usual. Definitely a huge improvement. Awesome job folks. That was a good fish you caught. difficult and challenging conditions with the way the tractor was hung... definitely looked like a keeper!
The last video was GREAT feedback. Biggest change was taking the worldlock view off as it was a distraction to most people who wanted to do minimal clicking and dragging. They will only get better, this call was over a month ago so my settings have improved. For example, I mounted the camera a little higher which helps. For the audio, if you notice in the beginning you can see a device and hear it as it hits my helmet when I walk. That's for audio, but it kept getting unplugged. It ruined the audio but going forward I'll just ditch it as the 360 camera captures the audio fine by itself.

Works good and visual quality is good in 1080p. Be safe and make sure to drink plenty of water.

Another job VERY well done!! The 360 degree helmet cam is WAY better this time. Mostly I just moved a little here and there to see what you were doing better. It's cool to be able to pause and look around also. You're getting to be just as good with the video as you are with the recovery. Take care and, be safe my friend!!
I made huge improvements from the plane video, but still have other tips and tricks up my sleeve. If you have the capability, I suggest to watch in full 5k resolution, the highest setting possible. It's crazy!

Kind of weird watching it in 360 view. It is cool though because like the camera says, you can span around 360* getting a view of the area. I have one of those cameras that I try & use at car shows & drag races. It works but the resolution sucks. That's what turns most people off. I think with time & development, these cameras are the way to go. They give you the entire 360* perspective, which actually allows you to look around. Thanks for the post.
I was also able to design my own holder for the 360* camera on a bump cap. It worked great. The camera was small enough & didn't weight a whole lot which made the design easy.
What quality are you watching in? This is a 4k resolution video, check your CZcams settings and try it at the max resolution

first impressions this is MUCH better. i love the way it follows your point of vieuw. with the added bonus of being able to look around! the only thing i have to say is i don't like the way the camera tries to "stabilise" the footage. it feels unnatural for me. however i can understand that some people who get nauseated from the shaky ness of the normal camera prefer this .

Yes and no. We have extreme heat, but I could imagine working in the EXTREME sub zero cold can be just as horrible. You have issues like ice, truck starting issues, the absolute freezing cold, etc.

Well, I think I preferred the "worldlock" feature as the video is less inclined to cause motion sickness. Without the feature the follows your shoulder movement which is better than when the camera is on your helmet. With the "worldlock" off I just set the view just over your helmet and leave it there. The view is the same as I would get with a regular camera. Audio needs attention.

I almost never see the tractor separated during the recovery. I would think that bringing them out one at a time would be better? BTW: Great step forward in recording in 360 ... stopped video several times to take advantage of the new views.
That would be counter productive in a case like this. Let's take this one for example, if we split it, and pull the trailer, it would just fall flat. It would be INCREDIBLY hard to keep a trailer by itself stable like that coming up. Then once up, it would be 100% in the way. Very unsafe. There are scenarios where you would do that, but not this one. Also, glad you enjoyed the 360! What quality are you watching it in?

I can see just fine on my desktop. Imagery may not be as sharp but the 360 is cool. Only thing is your audio seemed muffled.

I enjoyed the 360 capability as well as the vertical capability, but please slow down your head movements. Almost made me seasick. I realize you need to keep track of what's going on, but make your movements more deliberate. I learned the same lesson when making vids on my ATV in rugged back country. Friends who watched them were considerably less polite in their comments to me. 😒😒

I watch all my CZcams videos on my tv through with my Roku streaming box.
I have watched a lot of your vids and enjoy them. However this one gave me a headache. Could be my eyes but it seemed to be out of focus. I probably will not watch any more 360 vids. On the other hand you guys do great work and it reminds me of when I worked towing but without all the fancy hydraulics and rotators. Holmes 480's us to Holmes 850's in my day.

If it's blurry, that's coming on your end. Can you please tell me what video quality you are watching at? The video is 5k, so check to make sure it's not set to anything below 1080p. The higher your internet speed will allow you to stream, the better.

@@timhumpert453 Just click that gear looking icon to open up the settings at the bottom right of the video. Then under quality, what does it say? Anything under 1080 will suck, the higher you can click the better.

Sound is my fault, I bought a microphone adapter to give me great sound, and I did the opposite lol. It kept getting unplugged while I was walking so that is my fault.

What do you mean CZcams TV? Do you mean a smart tv? Unfortunately, this will NOT work on smart TVs. You have to watch it on a smart phone or a computer.

Josh, you complain about the heat in LA come out and live in the Inland Empire. If it's 90 in LA it will be at least 105 to 110. I have seen it out here in Loma Linda at 117.
This job was in the Inland Empire. So was the last burn job video I posted a couple of weeks ago. I'm there a lot, I know full well the IE heat. I lived there over half my life.

Check out my other video I just uploaded, same one as this but not in 360. For the fuzzy, let me try and help. First, what quality are you watching this in? Second, are you watching on a phone or computer? If you're watching on a phone, the video will move up/down/left/right just by tilting and moving your phone. See if that does anything.
Curious what does a recovery like this cost?
I imagine 30 grand. I have had simple tows of 125 miles that were $3000

I think the "worldlock" would prevent this. I liked the 360 with the airplane video. With this video I just left the 360 facing forward over your helmet. The quick left - right movement was minimal but still some people are prone to motion sickness.
360 view isn't very good, very jerky and stuttery.

Everyone else seems to love it, if all you are seeing is a green helmet then you are viewing it wrong. First, tell me how you are viewing this video (PC, phone, TV, etc.). I'll try and guide you from there so you can enjoy it.

Seen more helmet than recovery
Well that's your fault you're not smart enough to read the description. If all you see is helmet, you're watching it wrong. This is a fully interactive 360 degree video. If you're watching on a computer, you can literally click and move the screen to move the camera. If you're watching on a phone you just move the phone in the direction you want to see the camera point to

May I ask why? I'm trying to get everyone's feedback so be as honest as possible please.
You need to do something about the camera location. With it on your helmet like that way too much movement. You have to be watching what you are doing and every movement of your head seems to be exaggerated. Makes me sick. Watching in 4K on my computer. Other than that good job.
That is the catch 22 of POV films. The point is to show the audience my wrecks from my view. Short of hiring a camera crew to follow me around, there is no way around it. I tried it on the chest and I don't like that. In order to get a full 360 view, it has to be on the helmet to capture everything in front of and in back of me. This GoPro max has unreal stabilization and horizon leveling, not sure what else I can do besides walking super slow and moving my head slow.
