i feel like cassie was just done with the shadowhunter world especially in the second half of the book because it definitely feels like this book has a lot less heart than the others
Laat hours feels very dull. Its lacks in a lot of spheres
yeah cassie said the family tree was made before she had any plans to make a sequel to tid, it totally gave me false hope too😭
this book made me so sad…it’s definitely my favorite trilogy she’s put out so far and i can’t believe it’s over 😭

I read the third book, and now I feel sad, and I feel like I had to say goodbye to people that I love, so much. I know some will dislike it, especially when a certain character died, all of a sudden, but in my opinion, I think CC did this book perfect! And, out of all CC series in the shadowhunters world, The Last Hours will ALWAYS be my favourite. I really hated the love triangles in her other series, but in my opinion, I loved it here, it wasn’t cliche, it wasn’t annoying, it was real, and perfect, I know some will complain (mostly because they wanted Lucie and Math and Jesse, from previous comments), but I loved it! And, I like Grace, because before I hated her, but I really like her redemption arc, she was amazing. And, of course, Daisy, my girl, I love, and James, and my baby, Math. I just love this book, it was perfect!❤
So the family tree is wrong. Cassie told us it was not correct shortly after it was released (Clockwork Princess). Chain of Thorns even explains why it is wrong. The member of the London Enclave that is going around questioning everyone about how many kids they will have and how in the end she included people who were not alive anymore.

the miscommunication really really frustrated me in the first half. like I get that it is hard to talk about being abused but I felt like James kept it to himself for all the wrong reasons? and I was also like did Tessa & Will teach their children nothing? like Lucie & James had some ridiculous reasoning for their secrets and behaviour and I found it so hard to believe that Will & Tessa would raise their kids in ignorance of their own failures.
I'm also still in denial about Christopher like what was the reason? just so that Grace didn't get a happy ending? and also like she killed off the possibly only neurodivergent person in the book why always them? 😭
OMG you need to read tales from the shadowhunter academy AND ghosts of the shadowmarket, they have so much background info about TID/TLH!
In the book someone (can’t remember who, not a main character) was asking Cordelia how many children her and James were going to have as she was doing family trees, there’s a line somewhere about how future generations are going to be confused as the family tree was just made up guess work.
Still maybe a last min cop out as far as matthews death goes, but it did explain it for me, and it gave me a chuckle as well.
that part definitely felt like Cassie was making fun of us who have obsessed over this family tree for way too many years 😂

I think the family tree was addressed at the end of the book and why it's wrong, because Esme Hardcastle was creating the family tree but some of it she hypothesized and the rest was accurate, so ... yeah. tea. I gave this book 3 stars, I think Cassie is done with this world and this book is evidence of that

Also the Matthew novella is in Ghosts of the Shadow Market, I definitely recommend it. There’s also a really good Anna one
I definitely agree with you about losing interest in the demon realm stuff. While this has my favorite cast of characters, the plot is a bit lacking
girl i love your videos, but you could have at least give a spoiler warning for the infernal devices and some part of the last hours, I haven’t read book three in that series (tid), and as you didn’t gave a spoiler warning so i thought I was safe to watch the video…
I get where you are coming from but it is nearly impossible to discuss the last book in a series without spoiling some stuff (like you could not talk about the series at all) and expecting no spoilers from the series that takes place even before that? since the series are so intricately related that's just not possible.
