    I replaced my badges also, Goo Gone and the heat gun help get that adhesive off after you get the old badge off. I got my badges from Corvettemods,they're painted carbon flash metallic, not cheap but they look cool. Keep up the great vids!

    I used a eraser wheel from 3m. It attaches to a drill and too the adhesive right off with no damage to the paint.

      Yes, I definitely should have used one of those! Was this the one you used? amzn.to/2DL7RMF

      Totally agree with this advice. Came here to say the same thing.

    I did these and heat was key when removing the old adhesive. Just a simple blow dryer no wd40 and the goo came off pretty easily.

    Here are some tips for badge removal from the pros...use a hair dryer, a heat gun can get too hot too quickly...heat the badge with the dryer before using the fishing line...be sure to cut all the way through the adhesive...do not lift one end of the emblem as the other end could literally put a small dent in the paint...you want the badge to basically fall off...then reheat the adhesive with the dryer and roll it off with your fingers....use wd40 at the end to remove any leftover residue...DO NOT USE A PLASTIC SCRAPER BLADE/PRY TOOL/OR TRY TO REMOVE THE BADGE WITHOUT HEATING THE BADGE AND ADHESIVE FIRST. Wipe clean with a diluted rubbing alcohol and water mix, touch up the spot with a microfiber cloth and some light polish to repair any surface damage left by removing the badge and adhesive, wipe with alcohol mix again, then apply the new badge..

    I have these installed on my Z. Question. Do you notice on the passenger side the emblem is further distance wise from the vent on fender? You didn’t show your passenger side. I didn’t install these on mine I bought it with these already installed. On the drivers side the “6” on the badge is closer to the vent then on “Z” is on the passenger side. If you could confirm it would be appreciated!

      I just went out to my garage and checked. I never noticed before but yes, the driver side is closer to the vent than the passenger size. I measured the closest point of the 6 is 2" from the vent edge on the driver side, and the closest point of the Z is 3" from the vent edge on the passenger. Is that the same with yours?

    • @number36420
      @number36420 Před 3 lety

      I didn’t do an exact measurement but sounds about spot on. I also looked at many others and this is how it is. Not sure why they did it this way but they did.

    • @InJasonsGarage
      @InJasonsGarage  Před 3 lety

      @@number36420 I am thinking there was a reason for it. Due to the slant of the vent and the slant of the emblem, it might have looked weird for the passenger side to be closer to the vent than what it is. Just a guess.

    • @madskater5
      @madskater5 Před 3 lety

      if i had to guess, its related to the holes for the side lights that we didnt get in the US. the Z part of the badge has to cover that hole, and the hole is in the same spot on both sides, so the badge has to shift around it.

    Do something about the front and rear flag emblems with the dumb chrome trim next. And put some black wheels on there before someone sees you driving around with chrome wheels

    • @InJasonsGarage
      @InJasonsGarage  Před 6 lety

      I would, but believe it or not, I don't know of anyone who makes the factory style front and rear crossed flags emblems in black. Do you know any?

      Jason's Garage I have the vinyl inserts on mine, they look great, but still have the chrome outline. from the auction site.
