Do not try this at home!! or at any where else!!

Should I go bigger with this concept? Maybe 6 bearings in one go? They seem to pretty weak :D
Do they always do things small in your country.
Obviously :)
Perhaps you should use a mild steel pipe section to contain the outer cage, so that your force is distributed more evenly.
How about putting a bolt in the center hole to keep it from collapsing in?
Moi! it's Marky_boi !!!! Do you still tik tok on Sundays?
Anni, we're so glad you're back! Videos with both of you is what made this channel as amazing as it is! Welcome back :)
Yes exactly!
Yep, they are always better WITH Anni!
Where did she go?
@@TastyChevelle she took a break from appearing in videos because she wasn’t feeling it, per Laurie in a video from a few weeks ago.
Laurie, what happened to the metal intro? (Also metal in slow motions)
Anyways, excellent video as always!
Maybe Amon Amarth could sponsor your channel ;)
Anni's laugh and Lauri's laugh make these videos hilarious. Thanks guys. Greetings from USA 🇺🇸.
*"There's still room to be more stupid"*
A motto to live by 😆
And what we're all here for! :D
New state motto of Texas.
"i did a thing" is the incarnation of the motto.
Priceless! @7:00
was literally gonna comment that !
I have been wondering where Anni went! It's good to hear you're still around. 🙂
Welcome back Anni! Also that ball bearing on the las break that used the race like a ski jump was amazing!
That was great! I was thinking that the outer race would just break and the insides would simply fly away on all of them, but that 4 bearing set was amazing. Excellent stuff and thank you for what you do.
Even on the high-speed video, it’s incredible how fast the bearings break-one frame they’re in one piece, and the next frame after the crack has gone fully through and the two pieces are already centimetres apart!
I'd like to see how much of a load a bearing can take under "normal" conditions. Maybe a shaft running through the bearing horizontally and have the bearing resting in a half of a housing, then press on the shaft.
Love your videos, thanks!
I like this idea. It would increase the forces involved so much it might be good to add another blast shield.
Not much if also spinning too. It will block immediately.
Recently I've started a new job where I get to use a hydraulic press to break concrete cylinders and determine the psi they break at for road and building construction. When I first started I was a little intimidated but then I remembered how educational and entertaining your videos are and it helped me become more comfortable with my machine and I've been sharing your videos with coworkers so we've all been excited to discuss your content :D
Try using the smashinator 5000 on these nested bearings, it should give the new safety box a good test heh
I'd be interested to see what would happen with different heat treatment of just a single ball bearing race (i.e., just the outer ring):
- Hardened
- Hardened then tempered
- Heated up, but allowed to cool without quenching
"Here we go!" is possibly my favorite phrase now.
I agree with going bigger, but I think the greatest addition would be to add a metal rod to the center to reduce flex. I think that will greatly increase the strength and resilience.
Amazing footage Lauri, as usual. Glad to hear Anni in the background. Cheers!
Nice to have you back Anni! We missed you!
So glad to hear Anni again! I really miss her vlogs, it’s so fun to follow you guy’s Finnish lives :)
Get a big ceramic ball (sphere) from a ball bearing and try to push it through the inside diameter of ball bearing to see what happens when it has a force trying to make that inside diameter larger. Kind of like that video with expanding the pipes, except the mandrel is a ball instead so it doesn't deform.
Yes
Definitely the most satisfying thing I have seen on CZcams in quite sometime. My favorite part is when the ball bearing go out of focus in the high speed. Like it was choreographed.
Best bad idea ever!
Awesome anni is back! We missed you
The syncing of the music at 5:48 is 👏👏👏
So nice to have the great Anni laugh back
I'm happy to hear your voice Annie, thank you for not giving up on us, you've become a vital part of this channel, moi.
Dude your laughter really makes me smile while watching this. Thanks, Hydraulic Press Finns! Love you guys!
Anni brings joy; her laugh is infectious!
Glad to hear your voice Anni! Welcome back 😊
Glad you are back anni! I love your laugh
Great video! Lots of destruction and sparks! That must have been high carbon steel 💜 It was very good to hear Anni's voice too. I missed her 💜
Yay, Anni - we all miss her, don't deny it!
Great idea and best video in a while. The big bearing(in)ception at the end worked out amazing.
More!!! 😆
One of the best payoffs, I was expecting a dud at the end but it DELIVERED!
Yeah, after the 2 nested bearing they started off with, I was sure I was gonna be disappointed… but it was so good!
Incredible video! This idea was great!
Anni is back! Woo Hoo! Great vid.
"I call it bad idea, but we're doing it anyway."
I adore this channel.
brilliant video . so interesting , glad Anni is back in the video's , such an interesting press .
Woo, Anni is back! Missed having her around for some more colour commentary
Not sure how i got addicted to watching things being crushed, but it's become very entertaining. Haha.
I never wonder what something is going to do when crushed by a press until I see your videos come across my feed. As always great video
Your both awesome love the vids... Love from Canada 🤙
I watch all of your videos and have always enjoyed when Anni joins you. When you said she was stepping back from HPC, I was sad. Although your videos are good, when you do them alone, it was obvious you had more fun, with Anni being with you for this video. I hope she had enough fun to be in more of your videos and I think it was more enjoyable for you too with your lovely wife joining you. Thanks for all you do...this is still my favorite channel!
Anni! Wonderful to hear that you Sound well. You are the the real reason we watch hydraulic press channel.
thanks for the warning. was going to try this with my 150 ton hydraulic press in my garden shed
If you want real mayhem, put a shaft through the centre bearing to support the inner race. You can see from the high speed that the inner race of the smallest bearing was the first point of failure.
I think that's what allowed it to be such a nice cascading failure though.
@@piciu256 We don't want nice and cascading - we want explosions!! lol
The alignment/setup was remarkable. It seems there would be a great tendency for the ring to fly out of the press -- not to stay there while it gets crushed in three or four more stages.
Nice to hear Anni's voice again!
The cinematography on the slow-mo was really nice. Almost completely desaturated apart from the sparks.
great video and great to hear anni laugh
We need this done the other way round so laying down
It's too strong like that. Even one decent sized bearing is able to take the 150 tons like that
@@HydraulicPressChannel oh wow damn I didn't know that
That last slow motion shot is so cool! They break from the inside out slowly then explode in a cascade of sparks
That last crush was really spectacular! The first few didn't give me much hope for an exciting result but the final crush couldn't have been better!
You’re a good man.
I think you just invented the best ball bearing design
Tää oli hyvä! Ja plussat taas Annista! :)
Really great multi-crushing. Good idea! High speed is awesome. Hi Anni!
Seeing bearing races explode never gets old
That last one was literally poetry!
I think it would be really cool to see a close-up, super slo-mo video of one of these bearing races splitting. Seeing the fracture form and propagate through the steel would be interesting.
Gonna need an insane camera setup for that.
Beautiful dangerous fireworks in the slow motion shots
Amazing love the content
Long ago I came here for the crushing content, & I'm still here for the hosts...& the crushing content!
Have you tried overloading the bearing through an axle? I should have waited until the end of the video to ask that...
That wasn't just pretty good, that was great!
Holy crap I need to buy a series of ball bearings and make a clock or something out of them that arrangement is GORGEOUS
that last ball bearing looks MIND BLOWING
Havent been watching HPC videos in a while. Has the huge spinning top video allready been made? And if not, Lauri where the frick is the huge spinning top video 🤣 I have been waiting for years.
That quad bearing exploded like a Konami boss!
“This is about as stupid as we’ gonna go” 😂
4:50 - Queue super-villain maniacal laughter lol awesome!
Should try to make cradle style support for the bearing to sit in so the whole bearing has support and equal pressure around.
Taking a break to make sure your boots are shined is honorable.
Back in the early days of HPC I think I was the first to suggest a bearing ball(because of my own experiences with them). I spammed it in every video when they asked suggestions till they finally did it. And it was as explosive as I expected 😄
Nice to hear Anni out there. I'm thinking a dozen bearings.
Use compressed air and spin nested ball bearings with it.
Try spinning the outer and the innermost bearing to see what happens.
Now that will make a dent :))
Am i the only one who regularly finds himself engaging safety-squint watching videos like these?
"Biblically Accurate Steel Angel"
Sparks look awesome in super slow-mo.
Good idea with crushing ball bearings in their natural habitat. Looking forward to it.
You should try it again with a shaft through the middle bearing and a fixture to keep it horizontal.
This was beautiful, nice staggered ring failures.
It's good to hear Anni's belly laugh again.
"I'm not sure what I call this.....I call this bad idea" 🤣😂
The spark show was pretty impressive 👍
Question: Are roller bearings stronger than ball bearings? Only one way to find out!
That was pretty spectacular.
Slomo was great on this. Hahahaha. All that stuff flying about while still crushing. New Anni sounds the same as before, but looked and sounded different in the Beyond the Press video. I like them both.
Hah. I was just about to start typing about trying a load on an axel when that part of the narration came up. I’m very intrigued by that proposition.
Very Clever and well done. What causes the sparks??
That was awesome!
That last one was interesting. I would never have expected the inner race of the inner bearing to be the first failure. There must not have been much clearance between the races and rolling elements of any of the four bearings. It's interesting, that you found that many bearings, where the outer races fit perfectly in the inner races of the larger bearings.
The last one was awesome!
Yay more vids!
I think I speak for us all when I say welcome back Anni
Wow that really looks like it wants to roll up more and maybe fling more balls out at super high speed if you get the situation just right. Excellent work!
Excellent!
i love the warning: _Please don't try this on your home 150 ton press!_
That finale was very good.
What happened to the extra content in your videos? I really miss them. 😀👍
i quietly and patiently wait for the day two hydraulic presses try to squash one another
Damn those shards go flying off quickly
What if the smallest bearing also had a steel dowel pressed into it to support the inner part from crushing?
Do you think it would make a difference if you put a solid rod in the center of the smallest bearing? It looked like it broke first since it had the space in the center to flex. I wonder what would happen if it didn't have that space in the center?
Love the vid!
Stay safe! 🇫🇮
