Honestly, sometimes it's also about "luck", "timing", or whatever you wanna call it, ofc if you wanna call someone the best player of all time they'll probably gonna have to win a few MVPs, but in the end, after those few, I don't think it matters that much, specially back-to-back, as they clearly have already proven they can do it; the craziest part for me would be if he got one in like 2018 ou 2020, because it's really far away from his other MVPs, or what we'd call it his "prime", which means that he can really still do it after all this time, and to be honest, he really could've, and I don't think those second places should go unnoticed.
And while the idea of a Playoff MVP sounds nice, I don't think it works well since the number of games vary a lot due to the very nature of the post season.
All of that aside, about the 2011 MVP award: it does make for an amazing narrative to put D.Rose up there, he was amazing and everyone loved watching him, but to be completely honest, even if it wasn't LeBron up there, I'd give the award to Dwight Howard before handing it to D.Rose, I just think they were both better than him, and fairly so, because they had already developed more into their "prime" forms more than Rose, who was just getting there, and almost everyone would agree that if it wasn't for the injury he would indeed still improve on the following years.
In retrospect I would feel sad about taking his MVP away, because of the "youngest MVP" narrative, and also because his prime got cut short, but this is about the best regular season player in the league, and I just don't think he was. Everyone clearly knew that LeBron was the best player in the world at the time, and the only one contesting that spot back then was Dwight Howard, who was an absolute monster blooming into what could've been the best defensive player of all time before also falling short due to injuries, so for me D.Rose would've gotten 3rd at best, even if I love that he's managed to get the award while he could.

Another great take, I still think LBJ should’ve won it over Rose (LBJ was better). But I think Rose winning was the right decision made especially since his career was never the same again since then. Prime D-Rose was different, only player that could’ve been similar was ironically Ky before LBJ came back. Without him, he’d probably be remembered differently in the future.

Also the first player to have 200 steals and 100 blocks. Bulls didn’t have a great record though. Yet, one of Kareem’s MVPs was on a losing season with far inferior statistics. 97 is considered the biggest mvp robbery ever.

Moreover, there was a war in the league: Michael and his team battled against the Black Serpent; and the Black Mamba waged war with his team.
But he prevailed not; neither was their place found anymore in the league for him.
And the serpent was defeated, that Black Serpent, called Kobe or Mamba Out!
Wherefore hast thou said in thine heart, 'I will ascend into the top of the league'?
Thou hast said, 'I will exalt my throne above the All-Stars of the Lord: I will sit also upon the Mount of Rushmore, in the highest of the heights of Memory Lane:
I will ascend even above the heights of the league’s greatest; I will be like the Lord.'
Yet thou hast been brought down to hell, to the sides of the pit.
For lo, and I beheld Mamba Out! Did he hiss with an exceedingly great hissing, thus saying unto his seed:
'Indeed, indeed my very seed, it hath come to pass that the woman and her seed hath sacrificed us.
To the flames of Hell’s perdition at once we have bust!
In separate chambers of darkness do I likewise lament, the exchange for greatness indeed I do repent, never to return whereby I cry, Mamba Out! Mamba Out, Lord I do repent!
Why oh why didst not I hearken within? Now as I wail in anguish doth also my conscience languish, with open confession the meaninglessness of my most desired profession.
In first manner do I also confess, as in John one and twenty; denying not but wholeheartedly confess, it was not worth it!
The NBA lie whereby cried: 'O thou Most High again I shall fly; above the stars of God even your great and mighty hill.
Yet in the year of his twenty and four, hardened I also mine stiff-necked heart: as in the day of the final visitation: lays my final memory.
That memory being the rim and backboard wholly rent in sunder, as in the days of Dawkins, also afore Connie Hawkins: did I also foresee from the rugged terrain of Mount Mutombo: which set forth as a stumbling block: swatting left and right, as the rock of defense.
For only you know Lord, surely, he had no offense! Yet the Dream triumphs over Kareem with or without Magic: setting forth an example of the unmatched footwork, as David too went dancing down the lane of the NBA’s final defeat!
As in the days of the Round Mound of Rebound, so shall there be men of old: likewise, renown; so too did he suffer the defeat as the playoff series began to drown.
Behold the Dream who, being fervently non-assuming, the defense wondering which hand was looming!
The most trustworthy teammate: ask Chuck or Kenny. In like manner, Shaq or Penny, well, lo, I do lie not Shaq nor Penny, thus I lied again.
For lo, as down below I am the penny. Someone please help my burning soul!
I do beg! For I am the penny - for the pride of my heart hath deceived me, Shaq come save me: O thou useless slobber, deflecting the blame as unto a thief and a robber.
Now in sorrow and in pain doth the woman travail; just to bring forth what would throw me in jail!
After death indeed is the judgment, the worst of it all is what shall pursue me next.
Just as the thirteenth day of twenty-one too passed did the widow too pass, and with prayer, fasting, and holy oblations did she accomplish the plan to raise up the man: I indeed cannot stand! For he shall be known as the Lamb of the NBA.
Thus, the God of Larry B. Because my attempt to make exempt: any conversation, for greatest of all time is the ceiling as the floor, in the same manner, His sealing the ceiling, which knoweth no end!
Then did the Spirit of the Lord depart me out of hell immediately as the serpent spoke his final words I heard from afar off, thus it was said as Michael brought me out of perdition unto Earth, whereby Kobe cried, 'I dropped the mic indeed!'
Because I hath sold up: and likewise sold out, who shall dish the assist! And with the game of games on the line unto Judgment Day: O Andrew Bynum you shall indeed repay.
For it is your determination to see sinners repay: the meet reward: just like opening day, whereby you say, 'O thou Black Mamba lo, behold I am Zay.
I beheld your wounded right hand yet believed it not!
How foolish of me, by your right hook Leviathan’s caught if for no other reason of the spirit you are taught!
My soul is sold unto the left hand of thought; the NBA this day unto all humanity be known, by the Black Serpent shall all players fail, following my footsteps steep down this jail.
The NBA soon shall no blacks be allowed, as by Mamba Out! Never back allowed! Behold, it is!
For that is it shall I wail in these uttermost parts o humanity not to come hither, Hell’s flaming prison bars!
What looms is next! The final fruit. Thus, in my forbidden abiding, hath I made the Lake of Fire mine everlasting abode!
As the just recompense it is that! Help pluck this helicopter out of the burn!
He burns me with the word which is Jesus Christ! Are what Hell’s flames doth kindle to burn.
Help! My soul hath I given up as unto a temporary holding place, which being of everlasting nought!
The sacrificial father of the money exchangers, that very temple of wickedness as abomination dangers!
My eternal hopelessness is all the more increased, lest I should have decreased to reap the hope of increase.
So here is the story of once championship glory, O Earth hear me in words cannot justly display its gory.
For appertaineth to the heavenly hierarchy, Isaiah Thomas is the Lamb of the NBA. Isiah Lord Thomas III hath sanctified it.
Michael Jordan is as his archangel, a servant attending on the right hand, for Lord knows he would not go left!
In the beginning, the Lord made all things NBA, that the All-Stars of NBA hosts shouldst do His bidding.
Now the Black Serpent, which is as unto the Devil, and Satan; he who fell from NBA greatness as he attempted to get to the very top: that being above the stars of God.
Thus, he waged war against Michael [Archangel] Jordan according to the process of due season, at the beginning of year nineteen ninety and six, to see whose league it belonged to, yet here also is what he found.
Now there was a day when the heirs of their Lord came to present themselves before Lord Thomas, and Kobe came also among them to present himself before him.
And the Lord thus said unto Kobe, 'From whence comest thou?' And Kobe answered, and said, 'From going to and fro in the league, and from scouting up and down in it.'
And Lord Thomas said unto him, 'Hast thou considered My servant Michael, that there is none like him in all the league, a perfect and an outstanding player, one that feareth Me, and one that escheweth going left?

He never got robbed. Played for a defensive juggernaut in the East which was abysmally weak which buffed advanced metrics immensely. It's comparable to how this years Timberwolves have 6 players in the top 20 of a couple defensive metrics and you know who's highest of em all except Rudy? KAT, the worst defender of those 6 players. Not saying Lebron wasnt great that year, but context matters.
Marc played in the West against some of the best big men we have seen in probably the toughest West we have seen and even though the Grizzlies were viewed as a great defensive team, it was Marc Gasol who anchored the paint on his own and had real Draymond Green instinct at that if teams got past Conley and Allen. IMO Marc is a very underrated player.
People often claim that because he was all defense second team and Lebron first that Lebron shouldve won it.
In actual reality, Marc shouldve been first team too because he rightfully won the DPOY.
