- Taylor Swift concert outfit? Coming up! Best believe I bejewelled myself to be in the presence of greatness.
Pattern I used was Gracie Steel's Adrift Shift: graciesteel.com/products/adri...
(The leopard print one was the full suggested length, PLUS a big ruffle I added at the bottom; the final purple dress was the shortened version, no ruffle)

omg sewing on the wristband as a tag at the end was so wonderful and smart!
I noticed this year at a festival how many people had their wrist bands from previous festivals stitched onto jackets alongside band patches and I thought what a fabulous idea!
Very cool detail!
"there was something really special about bellowing songs into the air that have held you privately for years with strangers who have felt just like you" that was such a nice way to put it 😭
Genuinely made me teary, so beautifully put. I love how these songs hold us in our feelings and we can see the genuine intensity of those while recognising it's a human experience and we're not the only ones ❤
EXACTLY how it feels to be there 🥺 I remember hearing all too well 10 mins live earlier this year and the experience of everyone singing it, knowing it has held us all through so many private moments, felt so sacred 🧡
The ending of this video is everything! I don’t sew nor am I very familiar with Taylor Swift and I loved this video. ❤
The seagulls really make the dress! I absolutely love it 😍✂️🪡✨
oh, that 'tag' made from the concert bracelet was such a nice touch!
I made my own dress for the eras tour too, it was a patchwork monstrosity with a square each for 240 Taylor Swift songs, colour coded by era. It looked so cool, but it was a nightmare to make.
That sounds incredible!! Have you posted it anywhere? I'd love to see it, patchwork things are my favorite!
@@mariclementsit’s posted on tumblr under the London eras tags
@@mariclements seconded! Also what a coincidence, you have “leena norms” in your name! Sorry I am not good at anagrams so I got excited 😂
Watching you sew in that wristband as a label made me burst into tears and I don't even know why. 😭 Beautiful dress and I hope you get to wear it again, it's so special!
now why was i crying at the ending 😭
Right?!
3:47 I’m sorry you’re sad about the fabric crinkling, but I have to say that I think the crinkle is delightful! When you first showed the fabric and said you were going to remove the wrinkles, I thought, “Oh, I thought the crinkle effect was an intentional part of the fabric!” At any rate, I am excited to see how the piece turns out! Back to the video…
Edited to add: What a delicious video! I loved the poetic reflections on your experience and the feelings of community and celebration at the show-as well as the comfort offered to those experiencing FOMO-as we watched a montage of moments from your concert experience. And the dress looks marvelous on you!
The concert wristband tag makes this absolutely everything
You speak so beautifully. So full of joy, energy, humour, introspection and warmth.
I love these clothes making videos
Shortening your dress at the shortening line brought the waistline up to where it should be - the natural dip at the narrowest part of your waist - a much better fit on you. You can then lengthen the hemline after that if you so shall wish… or not. Your dress turned out great - and has memories attached. Fabulous!!
This was such a cute video and I LOVE the dress! I'm glad it's not just me that felt that way about the eras tour... I came away feeling almost 'broken' because I didn't have "the happiest experience of my life" like everyone else claimed to. I agree the movie is definitely a better way to experience the tour, but there is also something to be said about the communal experience being surrounded by fellow swifities and sharing that with them.
Your dress came out beautifully! In a future video can you tour local thrift shops to see just how much eras-adjacent outfits end up there? One of the things that has bothered me about this mega-tour of Taylor's is that it has generated so much one-use fashion that often gets dumped on the thrift stores a week or two after the tour has vacated the region.
I love how you now have a momento of the moment permanently in this lovely dress you made, you keep getting better and better at sewing and should feel smug and proud when people ask you where it's from!
This actually made me tear up at the end! I love your dress SO much!! I have not been a subscriber to your channel for long, but ever since joining I have just always felt like “gah, I just want to be your friend, you are so clever and witty and fun”! 😊 Also, I really appreciate your snack smuggling! Thank you for sharing your dress making process and your Eras Tour experiences!
Gorgeous dress! I didn't quite see the vision with the raincoat because that fabric always scares me for some reason, but the seagulls were *chefs kiss*.
Also either “welcome to the seagull factory!” or “all of my mistakes will be on my butt instead of my boob and that's all I can ask for this world” are in serious contention for my new tagline.
A lovely make and a lovely reflection at the end!
This is AMAZING! I would so wear this dress for everything. You have made me want to learn how to make my own clothes! I’ve been a bit horrified by the idea of some people buying many outfits for many Eras shows and flying to many countries to see her. Always thankful for your thoughtful approach and insight xxx
ONE OF US!!!! do it ;)
Loved the reflection at the end and wanted to say the sewing the wristband as a label into the dress is genius!! Great video, really enjoying your content 🥰
I crocheted the top she wears in the lavender haze music video and eras tour poster for my show (stockholm n2) and loved having a project made for a special occasion that I still love and can wear over and over again! I am SO stealing the idea of sewing the wristband in my top that is a GENIUS way to keep it!🤩
The shiny seagulls are so cool!
I am enchanted and inspired. Thank you for all you do and think and share.
I LOVED THIS DRESS OMG. loved the shorter cut too! i'm a big 1989 fan but think it's the one of the HARDEST eras to dress for and you smashed it. glad you had the best time!
This whole thing was adorable and letting one's inner child shine and play
and ending it with a cherry on top with that label 🫶🫠💖
White Vinegar is pretty good for getting out wrinkles!
I loved this dress Leena the iridescent colour of the fabric was perfect!
Glorious to see the behind the scenes after seeing it in real life! It is a stunning dress
Hahah lovely to see u poppy!
What a thoughtful video. You never disappoint. the dress is beautiful!
I’m not a Swifty (enjoy her music but don’t know all her songs or follow her all that much), but love this dress and the process to making it. I actually think the crinkles add to the overall effect and it means you don’t have to iron it, which is a win in my books.
Leena the dress looked fantastic! Love it
when you first put on the dress my jaw dropped - so freaking cute on you!!! Love this challenge you’ve set and obsessed with the videos so far - plus the end of this one made me tear up. Being there earlier this year felt exactly how you put it, so ordinary and so sacred all at once 🧡
Love the dress. Hope you had the best night!
I was lucky enough to go to my first Wembley concert to see Green Day this weekend. Your snack hiding hack is GENUS! We nearly cried at the stadium food prices, choking down our greasy overpriced chips out of necessity 😂
Loved the dress. And I went to Stockholm n1 and Amsterdam n3 and I feel the exakt same way! The best time cause it's such a safe environment, such a party!
The fabric looks like Dupioni silk. That always crinkle when you wash it. If you don’t like that look then you need to have it dry cleaned.
It looks great! Beautiful!
The dress turned out wonderfully!
Thank you for the little message for us with severe Eras fomo. I have been so so close, multiple times, to ruining every financial plan I've had for this year just to get a ticket, but I just can't. I still absolutely love seeing the joy everyone else is experiencing though ❤
The energy at these concerts is gorgeous. Never felt so safe in a crowd so large!
Thank you for the video. I had tickets for dublin last weekend but got pregnant in the meantime (poor organisational skills) and the date coinsided with my due date. Its nice to hear how wonderful people felt to be there but also to live vicariously through others and feel lucky we have the disney plus version to not feel left out😢.
I love your dress(and friendship braclets)- perfect choice!
The dress turned out amazing, you looked awesome!!!
Next video idea: make a dress for every era, im so curious what you'd come up with!
Sorry how many times can I hit the like button???? Loved this, hope you had an amazing time!
I loved the retelling of your experience at the end of the video. It brought tears to my eyes because I remember feeling like that at my first ever concert which was Westlife when I was 15. I remember feeling at one with the crowd, like we were all there for the same purpose. We sang and laughed and danced together and I found it magical. It's one of the main reasons why I still love Westlife and continue to go to their concerts at the grand old age of 34! I always wonder if my love of Westlife comes from that feeling and if I had been to see another artist, maybe they would be my favourite? Who knows but at 15, I remember not feeling awkward or out of place which was very typical of me back then.
I made my eras tour dress as well!! I even used sew it yourself which i discovered because of this channel (shortened sleeve and shortened length version of the balloon sleeve dress) ❤
Omg that is a beautiful full circle connection!!!
I love this so much
absolutely, wonderfully amazing ❤
I love this so much ❤
I love everything about this
Lovely
Your dress turned out so fabulous! Im so happy for you!! 🥳💖
I actually am in LOVE with the color, the seagulls (and their fabric!) and believe it or not the wrinkly effect. It feels more ethereal this way. LOVE it. Amazing vision AND execution Leena. Well done! ✨✨🕊🕊
I believe this fabric is actually a crepe fabric. In production they will industrial heat press the crinkles... so if you wash it they are basically never coming out because it has permanently altered the fabric.
ps your parting words gave me chills. thanks again Leena. 💖💖
Not a BEAK poking at a BOOB! LOL this is amazing!!
This is so beautiful. You have such an exquisite way of articulating things and make such beautiful space for nuance and complexity. Thank you Leena ❤
Absolutly love the dress!
Just perfect ❤
Beautiful video 🥹 I made my eras tour dress 5 days before my date and I loved seeing everyone’s outfits as much as the show
Obsessed with this! 🤩
Nicely done Leena. Well made!!
I’ve been thinking about going to see a big stadium concert in my country next year for Greenday, Offspring and Fokofpolisikar (a super nostalgic lineup and people don’t come here often) but have been a bit put off by the scale of it, the cost (I would have to travel too) but this video has made me want to go more but simultaneously feel okay if it doesn’t work out.
I love the dress up camaraderie of this
The fabric you used for the base looks like it could be a kind of crushed taffeta that is meant to look creased x
Brilliant! I’m very jealous but also love your take on the experience. It looks like you had so much fun 🤩
Wait till you hit the „the event is this evening” kind of sewing balls😂 you did freat btw
Amazing video! Great dress and the end moved me more than I expected.
The dress turned out amazing!
Waaah I love the dress! When you first explained your vision, I wasn't sure, but it looks so so good. And the way you described your eras tour experience made me feel better as someone experiencing fomo. Magical, but in an ordinary kind of way, and it made me realise that I would probably also feel extremely happy & cathartic just to sing those songs out loud with friends who also feel an attachment to the lyrics. Ty for this lovely video as always
Got to respect the hustle, I would’ve just worn the rain coat!
Fabulous work 👏🏻💛
omg this dress is stunning !!! and adding the wristband as a tag is such a perfect touch
thanks for the fomo bit, i needed that
I love the dress!
The ending was so beautiful
Love it
I loved this video and your reflections at the end! I also had similar feelings but couldn’t put it into words. I loved being there and being part of the crowd, and I had tried my best to avoid too many spoilers, but I soon realised I’d have to watch the filmed version to be able to see all the details and choreo I missed from seeing it in person! Glad you had an amazing time xx
swifties can be summarized in one word: YIKES
Amazing job Leena 👏👏 love your dress!
I thought you were saying "sea girls" and I was like, "isn't that a mermaid?" 😅😅😅
That would also have been very cool!
You did an incredible job ❤
I’m not a Swiftie, but last year a travelled to London from Canada to see Harry Styles at Wembley, and your thoughts at the end really summed up the feeling. It was an incredible night and I and so happy for all the Swifties having the same experience ❤
Love the dress and also love this style of video!
Such a beautiful and unique video of this shared experience that is attending (and participating) in the Eras Tour 🥰 Absolutely loved the wristband moment in the end, and I might steal it for my handmade garment as well ☺
Why did that make me so emotional??? Love the dress and love the honesty ❤ i felt the same when i was there too.
most beautiful dress!
Noooo that ending made me cry Leena, I'm going to see Taylor for the first time ever on Thursday after being a fan for 13 (yes, I know lol) years and it's hitting me today that it's really happening aahh! Loved your dress! I put some iron on patches and sequins on a dress I already owned in Midnights theme so feeling pretty smug about that :)
My favourite video you’ve ever made. The dress was perfection. ❤
Hahah aw thank you that means a lot!!!
AHHHH im so glad one of my favorite CZcamsrs is also a swiftie🫶🫶🫶
What a beautiful and creative dress!! Your ending monologue made me tear up :,) as a long time swiftie and watcher of your channel, the Taylor content feels like the best crossover ever
I’m crying! So wanted to go but missed out, knew your content wouldn’t be rubbing salt in the wound and I was right. Love the dress so cute!
I LOVE that you made the wristband/bracelet light into the fabric tag (don't know if I've got that terminology right) what a genius way to add more memories to the dress!
i think based on the outfits taylor wore in your footage we actually went on the same night! and the way you described it was exactly how i felt as well. it was so huge that you and i could both be there and never once see each other yet still felt warm and almost cozy
It looked good. A bibbety bobbety boo moment, for sure.
🥲❤️🙏
Im pretty sure I was at the same night as you (the Friday show, based on the weather!). It was so special. I made a point not to watch the show on Disney beforehand, and had avoided everything on social media so it could all be a huge surprise; and i am thankful i did! However, when I watched it on Disney (needed to show the husband all the fun stuff i saw) i realised how much i couldnt see of the show, despite having front standing. I got a few great views of taylor, but did spend most of the show looking at her from behind, and didnt realise how mad some of the stage effects are, and it actually made me a little jealous of all the people with seated tickets, or general admission standing!
What im trying to say is; the stadium is such a huge place, there are pros and cons to any ticket location. I loved my experience and am so glad i got to go. I also think that if I'd spotted you there, i probably would have fan girled just as hard as if I'd bumped into Taylor herself lmao
I love your short hair it suits you so well! You inspired me to cut my hair short too (have wanted to for ages) and it’s just fab 💕… also you slayed this dress 💯
That outro was beautiful and had me close to tears until it was cut off by an add for thrush medication 👍
Im seeing the era’s tour in a few days and I have let go of the pressure to have a perfect outfit and a perfect experience, I just want it to be fun.
💛💛💛
Omg I'm happy for you that you got to goooo but I'm so jealous I never was able to get tickets 😭😭😭😭 still hoping to score some soon. REALLY excited for this video though - thank you!!!
For some reason, that little monologue you had at the end made me cry. The dress you made was so lovely! If only past Lena, who got her toy sewing-machine, knew that she will one day make herself such a cute outfit for this (extra)ordinary night!
What surprise songs did you get? :)
I was actually wondering about if you were going to the eras tour just the other day, because I knew Hannah was going, but for you I wasn’t sure? How fun, I hope you had a great night!
This was an especially immersive and amazing video considering it was only NINE minutes long 😮
