    Never let these manual purists sway you into buying something you don’t like, no one knows your situation and if automatic suits your needs and makes you happy, get it, you’re driving YOUR car, not them.

      Thank you, just bought the automatic of this card to great dismay of my friends. I just personally don’t enjoy driving a manual as much and will be driving this on a college campus mainly, but I still loved the look and feel of this car!

    • @wazakiYEAH

      @@gavinclark525 dont worry about it. I have a manual gt86, and I have a love and hate relationship daily driving it everyday. When I'm getting my next gr86 it would be automatic

    • @sshah2545
      @sshah2545 Před rokem +3

      Yeah, this is what they call bad advice.
      Get the manual. If you can't, or won't drive manual, don't buy this car. This is the full equation.

    • @gavinclark525
      @gavinclark525 Před rokem +12

      @@sshah2545 drive what makes you happiest and don’t assume what you enjoy the most is what everyone will. You can enjoy the car and not enjoy a manual, or it might just not be practical

      @Gavin Clark I hear you. On principle I agree. But honestly it doesn't make sense, which is why overall, I disagree.
      This car comes with so many compromises and sacrifices. Too many, actually. For the same money, I could get a more practical, more efficient, more economical and more comfortable alternative with a real back seat and a real trunk.
      In the modern day, that econobox still stands a solid chance of being kind of sporty and fun to drive. So it's not like you'd have 0 fun either.
      The ONLY reason you buy a BRZ is to get the full quotient of Manual, RWD, sportscar
      You need all the elements or the math just doesn't add up. I understand the "drive whatever makes you happy" argument. I understand that my choices won't be the same as other people's.
      But sorry, you're never going to convince me. Get the full fat sports car.. or don't get it at all. And I live in the absolute heart of Downtown Toronto, which is more car unfriendly, more congested, and just as busy as Downtown NYC and my argument stands.
      Point and case, you don't buy a car like this for resale value, it's a Subaru, not a Ferrari. But in 10 years, well-kept manual version will probably sell for similar money to MSRP, but you won't be able to give the automatics away. That's says more about the type of car that you should buy than anything else.

    The shifts from this automatic feels.. fairly quick and responsive.. at least it appears so based on the video. I'm not sensing the lag that people are complaining about.

    • @MrFoxfire510
      @MrFoxfire510 Před 7 dny

      The lag is during downshifts when slowing down fast for corner entry. Can be seen better on pov track days or spirited canyon carving.
