The "Wallshot" actually exists irl, it's called the roll test. They use the same method except they launch the car at much smaller velocity

The old cars were actually much more stable.
These cars even survived head-on collisions without serious damage.
For this, however, the entire impact energy was transferred to the driver and passenger.
In the end, you often had a slightly damaged car, but it needed new owners because the old ones didn't survive the impact.

@@mrmcmuffinman6364 nope, the old cars front end was solid but weak, and that makes the driver receive a lot of energy, while in new cars, the front end is soft and strong to absorb impact, and the crash be less violent to the driver, and the cockpit in new cars is much stronger.
Mr McMuffun it’s a very weird thing Most old cars will survive better irl but kill the driver while new cars get wiped off the map and drivers unharmed.

I'd like to see more classic cars, like the Burnside and Bluebuck, run through these tests.
honestly, it would have been accurate if you used the Burnside special instead of the crash hard classic the crash hard classic wasnt made by beamng drive, thats why the parts seem to just fall apart so easily and stuff. if you used the special, the results would have been better since its a car made by beamng drive. but nonetheless, great video!

Call me boring but I'd love to see this redone but in actual normal crash scenarios like a head on collision at 40mph, hitting a pole, getting t boned by another regular car, a low speed fender bender, and etc. That to me would be a more effective way to show the difference between the two.
Actually there are those kinds of vids on YT. And even better: There are vids that show the same crash test twice. Once in Beam.NG and once irl. Both under same conditions and they get shown simultaneously so you can compare them directly.

It's all about the structure of the car, even if it was made of diamond it would still break
