    Could I convince you guys to not use UC or other inflammatory bowl diseases as IBS? IBD is not IBS. I have been diagnosed with IBD, but people always ask if it's IBS. IBS can be caused by stress and a number of other factors, but is not inflammatory by definition. UC is a form of IBD. It is inflammatory, unlike in IBS. I appreciate you guys all supporting this diet which has relieved my symptoms quite a bit. However, it continues to perpetuate the inability of people to find legitimate medical advice online if someone has IBD and they are looking for IBS support (unrelated).
    Thanks again.

So I guess all those oxalates effect each in different ways! For some it is colitis for some it's kidney stones! Thank you for this interview.. amazing!♥️

    I totally agree with Nicole on iatrogenic problems with procedures. Doctors make everything seem like it's normal and no problem because they make you sign waivers. A lot of people die from what their doctors do and the medications they give them. They're fantastic for trauma though. My path has been the same as hers with diets and then ulcerative colitis. They wanted me to take six very toxic drugs because they were unwilling to figure out the cause.

    Sorry, Caitlin but I beg to differ with you guest. I am a Type 1 diabetic. Insulin is not an expensive drug. But, the Pharmaceutical companies have found they can make huge profits off of insulin. Without insurance, here in the U.S. my monthly insulin alone is in the thousands. I have done many things to try to reduce my insulin intake, but unfortunately will die without insulin. It is a horrible situation in my opinion to be dependant on a "For Profit" system. When she discusses hospital or medical errors, I totally understand. I have had many situations when I was very ill in the hospital (usually diabeteds related), and a nurse would make an error with my insulin. In fact, one nurse almost gave me the wrong type of insulin with a gigantic dose. If I didn't notice and push her hand away from me, I would not have lived to see the next day...

    Congrats on getting remission from UC.
    However I would suggest adding a VERY VERY important disclaimer. There are different severities of UC and not all of them can simply be fixed by diet. I have extensive UC which is 50 plus bathroom trips a day with blood and mucus as well as inability to keep food down without vomiting and extreme constipation. While eating zero carb (carnivore) definitely helps but not without also taking medications. Please understand while a simple diet change worked for you, because you didn't have a severe case, but it's not a cure all for everyone. You are not a GI physician and really shouldn't be giving medical advice without such a disclaimer. Happy you got remission though.

      I agree! I was recently diagnosed with UC. I lost a lot of weight, and I was hospitalized twice within 6 weeks. I was most definitely in big trouble. But once I received an infusion of remicade, I immediately felt better. I've regained most of my strength and weight. In my case, remicade has been my savior. -Good luck with your healing.

    Key points that i would like to mentions are; eat proteins/amino acids that will heal the gut first (also big fan of gelatin.). do not eat sugar/processed foods. also do some kind of interminent fasting (most important part. regulates immune system, autophagy, let the body heal itself.). regulate your microbiota (kefir, other types of fermented foods.).finally exercise, meditate if you can.
    the science/relation between these steps is the real answer. protein rich diet alone will not cure UC fortunately. no disrespect intented.

      @scottw2317 Před 4 lety +1

      I've been a climate change 'denier' well over a decade longer than finding information on keto/carnivore. That is kind of sad as I had issues for about 11 years and if I had used the same skeptical mind to my diet that I had used to look into the hysteria and scientific corruption to climatology then perhaps a better outcome for myself might've come earlier than this year. Thanks for the response btw, it is good to see some creators engaging the commentors on their videos.

      @@Thegrassfedgirl The climate has swung back and forth many times over the eons, the Sun is the main driver of climate, matter of fact, we have moved into a Grand Solar Minimum, in the past these relatively rare "anomalies" in the 11 & 22 yr sunspot cycle has been linked with decades of colder than normal global temps, some even resulting in mini Ice Ages. The "global warming" period appears to be ending. Our impact is not nearly as large as some would have you believe, it's all a huge $$ and political power grab. Anyway, I enjoy your channel!

    • @scottw2317
      @scottw2317 Před 4 lety +3

      Alfred Wegener, first proposed his theory of continental drift around 1915. It took over 40 years for the theory to become accepted and was originally blocked by the 'concensus' of scientists of the time. This is not only mentioned to draw a parable between 'concensus science' of today to the past but also point to the science of tectonic actions. Now a question: How tectonically (seismic) active is San Francisco? Continental Plates can 'subduct' under other plates causing a sea level change of magnitude greater than the global average, a good example of this is the plate changes of europe with Stockholm and some northern european areas rising and southern europe cities lowering. Also note areas with well and bores will suffer land subsidance due to the change in the water table................................. That bit out of the way a little something else. Not a single person to my knowledge has ever been classified as a climate refugee to this date, zero. No country has gone under nor is there evidence of island countries disappearing (Tuvalu has actually gotten larger for example wattsupwiththat.com/2018/02/09/remember-when-the-island-of-tuvalu-was-going-to-be-inundated-by-sea-level-rise-never-mind/ 2.9% growth in land size over the last 40 years).... this is consistant with island surveys of the Indian and Pacific Oceans that showed islands above about 10 hectares rarely if ever shrank over this period but many more increased in size. This survey covered 10,000s of island though many smaller than that size did suffer some changes. World average sea level has increased, it has been increasing for centuries coming out of the little ice age that dominated the world for hundreds of years prior to that, Previous ages to that are the Medeval Warming Period that had substantial warming, the Dark Ages before that which was another little ice age type period then the Roman Warming period where the sea level was quite different from what it is now. Greenland grew crops that to this day is still unable to be grown in the 9th-13th centuries, Scotland produced wines that is still but a dream for them to this day during this time. This isn't even the technical parts of climate science that is clearly showing the false narritive, one more qualified to talk on that subject would be Bart Kay who is in the carnivore community with his own youtube channel.

    Hi Caitlin. I am really enjoying your channel. Since you have authored cookbooks I wondered if I could ask you if you had any ideas for cooking weekly meats for the Carnivore diet. I guess frozen meat shouldn’t be unfrozen, cooked and refrozen. However, I have been happily doing the diet for the last 3 weeks but tonight my roomie asked if I could cook ahead so he doesn’t have to smell the meat. He eats a balanced diet and would like to see me doing so as well but I have been sick for far too long and want to continue with this diet.
