That is some very beautiful looking property you're fishing. If it was my land and stream, i would spend a couple of months trimming back the overhanging tree and brush limbs on the stream for easier and more access to the steam for casting and fishing. And no, contrary to what some out there might be thinking, i'm not talking about RAPING AND CHOPPING BACK.....no just a very light and subtle hand clipping and "lifting" of the branches. you would likely catch more fish while at the same time preserving the overhanging canopy that some of the trout like to hide under in their environment and still make it natural looking. One good run of it and if done right, wouldn't need to be done again for six or seven years.

I have purchased three of them after watching this video, having great success, I switched the treble hook to a bigger one as I kept losing fish and this was the answer. Do you recommend using a barrell or snap swivel at all? It may reduce the chance of losing the lures...
I had an idea to try a bigger hook but never managed to do that. Someone who knows this stream mentioned there might be small pike that comes from the lake so that could be a reason why I lost those lures. I used a snap swivel that I usually trust.

Yes, sorry, that day I decided to fit lures directly to the line because trout in that stream is very careful.

причина перехода на флюр так как на флюр бирут крупные щуки.не бояс атакуют приманки.я вот уже поймат трофей этого года.но у нас нет очень крупной щуки.ну в обычных реках максимум 2-3кг это считаеться трофей.

Как приманка работает если кидать вверх по течению? заводится?
Пишут что версия 2.4 гр. - SLOW, а 3.8 гр. - FAST. Вы на какую ловили?
Сначала на slow, потом (с дополнительным крючком) - на fast.
Конечно легче против течения, там есть момент поимки когда я просто держал её, не вёл совсем 9:26

...what I mean ist the underwater (action) behaviour of the lure. Just filming unterwater with the GoPro in clear water. I can imagine that it should work for other kind of fish in our rivers, too.
How do you keep losing them ? i use 3lb line and dont break trout off or on snags
I couldn't understand myself to be honest. I used 2.4kg fluorocarbon leader but I didn't use a snap so maybe because of very strong high frequency vibration the line weakened at the knot and broke when trout hit lures.

You had to concentrate on the lure, not on the place :)
I tried it twice before: first time 9 in a different place in 1 hour, the second time 12 in the same place in 2 hours (after rain).
I will try more in a lake and in different rivers.

Хорошая идея, записал. Думаю у вертушки не будет шанса. Там никто не ловит т.к. не ловится (форель очень осторожная). Я поймал :) Это был второй выход. Неделю назад после дождя когда рыба была более активна 12 поймал за 2 часа.

Barbed treble hooks, the best way to kill every fish you catch.
1. Those lures were designed for trout so I just used them.
2. I tired swap treble to single barbless hook but the lure was not acting well.
3. It depends on how you handle fish. Release it asap, no photos - it will survive for sure.

1. I don't think the trout's survival is dependent on whether the lure was designed for them or not. The more hooks you have to disengage, the longer the fish are out of the water and the less likely they are to survive. Barbed hooks take longer to get out of the fish's mouth, it would logically follow that the end result is that treble hooks cause a higher mortality rate.
2. Fish do not normally eat hunks of metal and plastic as they are not naturally occurring the the food chain. The only reasons trout will attack such lures is out of territorial instincts or pure stimulation to strike. They don't care whether a lure is wiggling "correctly" or not.
3. If the way fish are handled determines the mortality rate then yours are sure to die because a) you pull them out of the water and drag them across the ground then b) you handle them with dry hands which rubs the protective slime off making the fish more susceptible to disease and parasites. c) Then you keep them out of the water too long because of the treble hooks.
4. The best way to successfully release fish is to not even remove them from the water, this can be accomplished by using a net and barbless hooks. A barbless hook can usually be removed quickly and easily by simply turning the hook upside down. The fish will fall right off without even touching it. 5. Buy a fly rod and learn to use it, there will be more fish to catch in years to come for you as well as other fishers.

I guess it's ok to kill fish as long as you're filming the process. The only problem (well, not the only) with your logic is that if everybody continues to fish like you do, there won't be any fish here in a few years. Nothing to catch, nothing to film. Sounds like you're bent on putting yourself out of business.
