Hey! Emulation Guy, we don't take kindly to your types in here!

What a title.
I don't get the reference

*I didn't get arrested for this comment
@@_-JR01he brought an em*lator to the Nintendo store. He's lucky he left with his life.
@@beeektursay it ain't so! 😱
Speculation: He got to see the Ally X.
this is very likely, no other reason to bring the rog ally on the trip
@@Heavyshadowsound casual disrespect LOL
@BarniDeDino not bringing the steam deck oled is a huge clue. Takes forever to fly from Hawaii. Battery life is a huge factor on these flights, so I definitely think it's an ASUS event, especially since they're close to NYC often. Again, not trying to knock the Ally too hard, but yeah 😂
That's EXACTLY what I thought..
Impossible

The slow pivot to a travel blogging channel once all these handhelds are capable of running everything is in progress.
As long as he’s still playing games and showing us an occasional new device I’d be all for it! things change. Nothing last forever. Let’s enjoy the ride together 😊
I live in NYC and anyone watching this video who is going should absolutely check out Wonderville, an awesome indie arcade bar. Unlike other bar arcades, this doesn’t have classic games you’ve played before. It’s entirely new independent games with really cool gimmicks and mechanics and it’s such a fun time. It’s like if real arcade games were still being made in 2024, truly a great time.
Neat! There used to be a place in Berlin called the Game Science Center with a similar idea, but it shut down during COVID. 😭
I'm in NYC as well and always looking for new gaming spots! Where is this Wonderville? It sounds like an in-between of Barcade (any of the three) and Dave & Buster's and I'm totally for it.
I came to ask the same question…I’ve been to Barcade about a dozen times. And Sunshine Laundry if you’re into pinball but this other place sounds cool.
@@apolloluxIn bushwick, easy to find with a search and conveniently located near a train. really great jazz club near there called ornithology, too.
100% co-signed! Wonderville is such a great place to vibe and play cool indies in arcade cabinet form.
When my wife and I were dating, she grew up about an hour from the city, so we visited a few times. One trip we walked around all day, and went to go see spamalot. After it ended we got up to leave and my legs were like jelly, I almost fell off the balcony. After we got home, I checked and we walked roughly 11 miles that day. We also didn't get arrested at the Nintendo store.
Good job not getting arrested!
one of my favorite things about living in nyc. on a lazy day i'll walk 2-3 miles, and 10 is pretty common!
Congratulations for not getting arrested! The 🐐 of retro games has returned.
"I won't be able to talk about why I went until next week." "I brought the ROG Ally for a very specific reason that we will talk about next week." Best "clues" as to why you were in NYC. It sounds like the Next-Gen ROG Ally hands-on for influencers.
Rather the 2024 model (already announced the ROG Ally X) than a true next gen model.
Bigger battery, redesigned to also not have the SD reader that can melt your SD cards (yup), and also with faster/higher bandwidth memory but no change in the CPU/GPU. More bandwidth is good tho, I'd guesstimate it could bring up to 10% more perf!
ye that seemed like a big hint and that he met up with others that cover similar topics as him on YT. Guess we will see.
yup I immediately had the same thought
@@Allyouknow5820 i hope they get rid of the original device completely and keep the price. Please please please ROG
lemme guess, private Asus Ally X event?
Not all clickbait titles are bad.
VISITING THE NINTENDO STORE (GONE WRONG!!)
Nothing clickbait about it. What he said was entirely true.
@@LucifronzThat's debatable. Using your logic *CRAZY NEW YORK TRIP (WAS I ARRESTED???)* isn't clickbait because the title is not untrue.
Life-long New Yorker and I’ve actually never been to / never thought to go to the reading room at the library. Looks so cool I’ll definitely be checking it out someday soon
For anyone visiting NYC, Videogames New York is a pretty neat store in East Village just a quick subway ride away from midtown. Their prices are decent and they have a pretty good selection considering how small the store is.
These are my favorite type of videos that you make! So cool to see the devices in action on planes, in public etc. Thank you!
same. i love the day-to-day / travel type tips. i have similar electronics/cable travel bag thanks to russ
I got a bunch of Neo Geo Pocket stuff off eBay 15-plus years ago when a warehouse apparently found a bunch of NGPC stuff and sold it off. $10 or so a game. Seeing $100-150 a game in your vid is mind blowing
i love living vicariously through your travels, thank you for sharing!
That was an awesome video. I think you literally thought me how to better travel, this looked like a really fun trip!
This guy really can talk about anything and keep you interested
If he set up Toilet Seat Corps as a second channel I'd still watch it, and probably end up with the comfiest bathroom ever
Fr, his voice is cozy, informative and entertaining. I want him to narrate my life.
I could listen to him talk about anything lol
Oddly specific lol
I went to NY around end of january, to mid february, You visited all the places I did and loved, And I am glad to revisit them through your video.
Love the video Russ! Always fun to see cool retrogaming stores at the places you go to!
Really cool to see what game stores are in other places. Can't wait to see what the big event was!
And I'm 100% using your wife's snack box idea, that was genius 😄
I swear I’m not stalking you retro I just happen to be an enthusiast of your videos
Travel and Handhelds. The best videos Russ. A guaranteed “Like” every. single. time.
Looking forward to the next video ❤
Love this type of videos! Happy for you that the hard work you put in your channel also pays off with such cool trips! :)
Great update! Love the NYC tour
Those old retro game stores reminded me of a store I used to love going to years back that sold all sorts of retro games, called Cash in Culture. I’d always make it a point to go there every time I went to the mall it was in, and it was the best
Watching my your vids while enjoying my morning coffee is such an enjoyable routine for me.
A real treat of a video, keep em coming. Also a 6mo or year in review for the Ally and Steam deck etc would be a great idea. 👍
Im planning a trip to New York for this summer, I never realized how many places there are to actually check out, Im super excited : D your trip looked awesome !
You could live in New York, just Manhattan even, a year and not even remotely see or experience we everything.
I was born and raised there. Lived in Brooklyn for 30+ years and I STILL haven’t experienced everything. Going back to visit hopefully in the winter to catch up on some things I missed out on when I was there. So much to do in New York. Such a great place to visit every now and again
Like another commenter said, Wonderville is a cool little indie arcade in Bushwick that is worth the trip for anyone into gaming.
Great video, fun to visit NYC vicariously. Brill also to see you meet up with the Phawx and Wulff, it really feels like the CZcams retro gaming crowd is a little Oasis of friendliness in a sea of toxicity. Looking forward to the reveal next week!
Loved this video! Brilliantly done !
The Nintendo Store is always a fun visit. Back when it was the Pokémon center I went there often. I usually don't pickup anything there either but it's fun to look at the museum. It's a shame they don't have the Gulf War mined DMG, I thought they would still have it. I haven't been there in about ten years but whenever I'm in the city I stop by it.
Looking forward to your review of the Ally X. One of the few youtubers I can wholeheartedly trust with reviews like this I feel.
I absolutely love this video! Very excited about this MinUI update for the RG35XXSP, will set it up on that firmware once i get it in my hands
In my younger days, Wo-Hop was our go-to 4am, hungry after a night of partying spot. Always hit the spot.
Love the videos.
NYC is my home , glad you got to experience it 😁
Really enjoyed this! Great travelogue. :)
I love your travel videos!
thanks for sharing, im visiting new york for the first time and visited every spot you mentioned. grabbed the red 2ds from book off that’s in the video lol
I need to make a cord bag like your travel one. Great video as always!
Man, it's unfortunate you guys didn't go to videogames new york in the east village. So many retro prodcuts, games and even demo consoles. You guys should visit it next time in NYC.
Love these videos! ❤
@RGC I'm so happy for you it must be a blast having such a fun way to make living. You have been so helpful keeping us who love emulation gaming up on the new devices and getting the most out of them much appreciation keep up the good work and have fun! 😊
Video games NYC would be a great place to stop by next time you’re in NYC!
I'm a huge Knicks Fan, but not being from the US so I've never been to New York. It's definitely high on the Bucket List
We’ve done the mini tackle/snack box thing with our three kids on road trips. It’s a complete genius game-changer!
Great guided tour! Thank you!
Russ, you definitely went in some good weather. Whatever New York gets for weather, it’s almost a guarantee we’ll get the same weather in NS about a day later. And yeah, it’s been great here for about 2 weeks now. Sounds like a good trip
Awesome report! the best Gluten Free youtuber hands down!!
I remember my first trip to NY to visit my aunts and cousins several years ago. The first thing I looked forward to was visiting Nintendo World, where I bought pretty neat stuff, like imported Mario merchandise, Nintendo World mugs, Mario shirts, and some games like Dance Dance Revolution Mario Mix, New Super Mario Bros., and Mario Kart DS. Then I went to Chinatown, where I bought a Famicom Game Boy Micro from a retro game store. Also, those train trips, I loved them! Next time I visit New York, I try to visit these stores, too.
Love your travel vlogs!
Excited to see you at Too Many Games
Love seeing you and Bob Wulff in the same clip together. Power meetup right there!
Notification had me cracking up laughing when I saw the thumbnail!
Great, new video!❤ Time to watch:)
Very cool! I’ve not been to New York since 2000!
That was a greet video top 10 ever, loved the snack tray!
I’m biased because of the content usually covered, but there are just always awesomely done and produced videos. Every time.
Another neat retro game store to check out in NYC is VideogamesNewYork in Manhattan.
Nice video, Russ. Now i know where to go when i visit NY, thnx!
Russ you do amazing things always, just wanted to let you know, this thumbnail appeared but I didn't register it as a RGC video, so I didn't click it until just now, after I went 'hey I haven't seen a RGC video in maybe a week' went to your channel, and here it is.
The Whitney is great, the only caveat if you visit NY for art is avoid the period when they are setting up galleries because most of the galleries (e.g. in Chelsea) are closed, and most museums have entire areas closed for renovation/preparation :)
Tech, travel, and food: three of my favorite things. ❤
Great video! My wife and I saw Wicked in February in Detroit for our 10 year wedding anniversary. It was great!
This was very cozy and cool to watch!
God bless the wife, keeping you healthy and full.
I have been to that Nintendo store, its great ! I only spotted it because somebody had a nintendo bag. Ny is light on cool gaming things for such a major city, although the dune simulator at the MS store is pretty dang cool
Your travel vids are endearing AF, bruh.
I just got back from a trip to Alaska and ended up only bringing my Switch and VITURE glasses. Weird for me because I thought I might bring my newish RP35xx+, Steam Deck or Pimax Portal, but when I sat down to think about the types of games that I wanted to play along with the portability of the device for some reason the size and capabilities of the switch (plus the game backlog) came out on top. And the XR glasses were an incredible match with the switch. I totally recommend them to anyone who is interested and either travels a lot or has a lot of gaming time without a TV available.
Whicked is my fav broadway show, Hamilton, Hello Dolly, Oklahoma are all such good broadway shows.. Nintendo store is awesome. I live about 2hrs from NYC
This video really hits home, literally. I recently took a trip back home to NY as well and I really wish i wouldve had a snack setup like that on the plane. lol My wife and I always go back home with a food list, and Halal Guys is on mine. Oh and I've definitely seen people use a bag of that size as a "personal" bag in addition to their carry on. Awesome video again.
Heck yeah! for personal bag. I travel carry on only, one carry on size suit case for the overhead and one (in my case sling, not backpack) that fits under the seat in front, International sizes, (US only would be a little bigger, but that's a mistake).
The only thing that gets to beat up my luggage is me and turbulence. So far, I've been lucky and my carry on suitcase hasn't had to be stowed out of cabin, but that's a risk on really full flights.
I have been unlucky and had to have my personal bag had to also overhead. The seat with a divider down the under seat or no seat in front, which is great for leg room. While some planes are terrible enough that even a shorty liked me feels the lack of leg room, that's generally not an issue. Pockets, and a bag of essentials that can be pulled out of the bigger bag. I think I had the jacket, not the best, but there's a thing that has a pocket that can hold a tablet, in addition to other pockets, , so I have that additional on my person storage traveling, too. Could easily put an Odin 2 & a pocketable handheld, in addition to snacks in one of those. Be fancy, have the glasses.
I would have packed a bunch of hand held devices as well!! Huge fan of your channel Russ, I agree J&L are pretty pricey but do have select games that would take awhile to get on a regular order. I used to work at an office close to that store and would visit often.
Security staff at the Nintendo store - “it’s him! 2319, 2319, go go go!”
These videos are really cool! More vlogs would be cool
BRAID is underrated. Changed my concept on games. Just the soundtrack and pace.. so amazing.
Thanks Russ! 💕🤘🏼 Can't wait for the collab with Bob!
Love travel videos - keep it up!
Stoked for the Ally X 🔥
That’s a great North Face pack, I had one just like that for many years!
Congrats to both you and Bob Wulff for not getting arrested. Coincidentally my two favorite channels in the video game and mobile tech space 😊
I travel quite a bit (off to Taiwan in 2 weeks). I bought an XD Bobby Hero backpack for travel. It's great, lots of compartments, netting, water resistant and knife resistant. I travel with my laptop, Steam Deck and Switch. Takes them all easily.
Combo platter looked damn good.
Nice looking forward to the next video
Excited for next week ! I like haggling with people on the street then not buying anything lol
"Maritozzi" (the singular is "maritozzo") is a typical Italian sweet, simple and amazing, very common around Rome 😊 I live in southern Italy, where they are less common, but I always enjoy them!
I want a John wick style movie where Russ has to escape the Nintendo ninjas in New York. It can open with them deleting his Ninten-dogs save file.
I remember going to Nintendo NY before. They used to have a whole museum like spot with their older consoles
Book off is great I think I visited almost every one in Tokyo when I was there a few months ago
Wow Hop, decent choice, very old school for sure. Wu's Wonton King is a fave for us. Please tell me you hit the Chinatown Ice Cream factory. Very unique flavors and I can't help but hitnit every time I go. Mei Lai Wah, is across the street and the baked roast pork buns are to die for. Tonchin is a great choice for ramen in NYC but there are so many really great ramen places in NYC, it can often be hard to decide. I live in the Westchester burbs and head in to eat all the time.
Alpaka pouch for the fbgba? Nice I have the same clutch never thought to use it for my handheld
Congrats on 500k 🎉
To see snacks on the iconic RetroGameCorps grid table instead of a console is breaking my brain
Really makes me happy that I’m not the only one that packs 3+ handhelds for a trip 🤣
Sounds like a thoroughly pleasant trip you had. Have you ever heard of a film critic who happens to live around the areas you visited known as Cole Smithey? He's apparently rather eccentric, but mildly funny
Videogames New York is another good spot to visit, kinda cramped but they have a really good selection.
north face backpacks are built like tanks. i still have mine. However I also use a pacsafe backpack that is about 8 years old (has good anti theft features).
I live in New York and Nintendo Store, J+L Game & Bookoff are my main 3 places I usually go.
Can you test the ayaneo next lite ?
Im hoping to go one day just for the nintendo store and any retro game shops. Living in pa helps but its a helluva drive still let alone flying from outside the us
My lady is from NY. Lived there most her life. I lived there with her for several years. I’ve been to the Nintendo store several times. It was the Nintendo World then. I have photos of the desert storm game boy. The damn thing was still running every time I went there. We lived in Brooklyn. She was from the lower east side. We had a plus size woman’s boutique not to many blocks from Katz deli.
can't wait for next weekeeeennddd
