- Carving a simple and scary pumpkin for Halloween.
My lathe is broken... I'm waiting on parts to hopefully fix it. The parts should have been here by now... but since they aren't, I'll be doing other silly things like this! I know it isn't Halloween yet, but I just couldn't resist this brain looking squash thingy!

Had to rewatch this after watching Halloween 2020. Skills
I am inspired! usually I use black markers and draw a face. Now I have ideas and faces cogitating in my head. Giant zucchini, bright orange cucumbers, warty squash hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm????? Thanks Rod ! Fun and inspiration.

You Carve an amazing pumpkin in about 8 minutes, It takes me 15 min to get the guts out :)

That's awesome! As soon as I saw the design you were going for, my mind filled in the blanks of the whole scene: Carve or paint a few tiny pumpkins or gourds with terrified faces and pipe cleaner arms waving and set them in front of it, running away. And maybe put a few broken pieces in front of it to look like its last victim. Oh, and don't forget to spray it with hairspray or clear acrylic, once it's dry, to keep it from decaying before Halloween.

Can I duplicate this talent for a pumpkin carving contest I signed up for? Not sure why I did that but wanted to challenge my creative side for It’s nonexistent. Love this. Your opening made me laugh and your wife’s reaction was spot on! Who sees a brain 🧠 in a pumpkin. Thanks for the laugh.

R Humphrey it’s not a big deal here, we do the american thing with parties and dress up, but it’s much smaller, kids dress up but the house to house thing is rare.
When you recently requested a head and shoulders photo of me I didn't realise that you were going to replicate it so accurately. This video just demonstrates that woodturners can do anything. I have farmer friends and they have 10[,000 pumpkins ripening in their fields in time for Halloween.
I should also state that I'm now into my sixth week at PI where the staff are so understanding. I've never felt so relaxed.
