This morning I watched a recently posted 60 Minutes documentary. Part 1 was on China, Part 2 was Georgia.
P2 scared me, they talked of a financial takeover by VVP's Russia there - the speed of purchasing property and registration of businesses was alarming, near the end.
Wondering if you're following this, and other bordering countries. I knew there was migration by people escaping the drafting. But I didn't know about this financial takeover by the Russian Fed. Sad to hear it's leveraging Georgians to have to migrate.

Russia is approaching a historic crossroad. The crossroad is the same one that France under Napoleon and Germany under Hitler encountered. Russia, Germany and France all lost wars and decided to continue their wars of expansion at a later date. Napoleon died in exile and Hitler committed suicide as his country was destroyed. The Communist, (totalitarian and fascist) government of the USSR lost its economic war against the collective west and then the regime rose again under a KGB officer named Putin to win at their second attempt and historical precedent says he will fail. Putin threatens nuclear war but the west will not bow down to any dictator so let him launch the nukes and watch as Putin and Russia are truly and forever destroyed. I hope Putin can see that he cannot force the west to do anything and his peace terms are considered as laughable and IMPOSSIBLE. The sanctions will remain and get worse until Ukraine is restored to its INTERNATIONALLY recognised borders. Until then the west will slowly become better armed with larger and more modern weapons stockpiles across the globe. Get out of Ukraine, remove the imperial dictatorial regime and the sanctions will fade very quickly. Until then the decline in Russia will make the collapse of the USSR seem like a party! France, Germany and even Japan lost their wars of conquest and are now true world powers whereas Russia simply likes to think it is! Nukes do not make you a world superpower but rather you simply become a target for other country's nukes.

Poles would tell you that if your ancestors were Polish, you are NOT of "Eastern European" descent. I never understood why everybody says Central Africa, Central Asia, but not everybody realizes thereÂŽs Central Europe. The insurance approved it after 4 denials and appeals. 3 days later they predetermined the approval because the Dr prescribed a larger dose than the Ins. allows. I called the DR. and asked them to send the script. to the local CVS and I will pay for it. When I went to pick it up the pharmacist said treatment would take more than 40 grams to treat my face in 30 days and 1 week before I run out to call him and he would override the 30-day renewal. Well, I have decided to postpone starting my treatment for 90 days then I will have three tubes to complete my facial treatment, after all I was supposed to have started 5 months ago 90 days more won't matter. The pharmacist said if things do not work out he will give me his dermatologist name in Houston and do the UV light treatment. I don't know if the insurance even covers that. I do not need to be billed $4,000 to 10,000 dollars for UV therapy. Other than that I am OK.

I have been happy married with my wife fo 40 years with childrens and granchildren, but one of the things I'm feeling really bad for is the homosexual people that 50 years ago when this was seen as a crime could be arrested in my own country before this became legal 50 years ago. And I hope the Russian minister didn't believe what he really told at tv, but to tell such nonsence at Russian tv is the real crime. It's a shame and very sad that the authoritarian Russian state are manipulating their people in the most ugly way. Thanks for keeping me updated every day. I'm disabled, paralyzed and bedridden after a vaccine made my immune defence attack my nervous system but I'm happy living in a normal country. We had a lot of Russian friends here but after the Putin regime infitrated and sent spies and terroists against military and oil installations our border was closed. We in the Netherlands know it Konstantin but too many dismiss the treats by Solovyov c.s. as drunk ramblings. They have no clue about the status and audience of this major propagandist, nor do they understand that nothing that is being said on the 1st Russian network is said without the green light from the top. As soon as Solovyov mentioned how much of Europe's oil refining capacity was in the Netherlands I realized that he was confident that all Russia has to do is drop nuclear bombs on a few of your levees, dikes, and all those refineries would be knocked out of commission by the ensuing saltwater floods. In the early 90's we had hopes for the Russian state and it's people. Jeffery Sachs was asked to go to Russia to help the gvmt. get the country's hyper-inflation under control as he had done in Poland and other countries. He eventually threw his hands up and returned to the U.S. Sachs reasoned that corruption was so rampant in every sector of commerce, that no amount of govt. policy reform could fix Russia. Corruption has always been rampant in Russia. Adding the lack of lustration after the breakup of the Soviet Union, and you get modern Russia. A failed state, atleast in terms of some European metrics.

I'm worried about the brainwashing regime the Russian state has started on young kids onwards to adulthood. It's this lesson of alternative history and current propaganda (I really don't know what else to call it).
Some Russians told a Finnish newspaper about this and it's just sad, the kids and/or parents get into trouble if they don't attend these lessons, some teachers use the lesson just for discussion and such but the teachers would never tell the parent which lesson they will do, because of the consequences. One parent described how her little son had to memorize a poem for this class and came home that day saying "Crimea is ours, Crimea is ours".
Russia has become just like the Soviet Union: there is a party line you are expected to adhere to even if you don't believe in any of it. In the privacy of your home, you can be more honest about everything - if you trust your family and haven't already begun to buy into the propaganda, that is. It's tragic.
The only good thing here is that even during the worst Soviet times, everyone couldn't be brainwashed. The few things that can punch through this kind of brainwashing are usually the sudden collapse of the living conditions or the news and culture from the other side leaking in. Then there would be scenarios like someone prominent telling the truth, but this is not likely. It would need to be someone people respect, much like Prigozhin, as horrible excuse of a human being he was, at least he told some truths.
Using drone surveillance to make sure nobody talks about anything is really 1984. Let's hope they won't get that far.
Regarding the news you picked, all of them are interesting and telling in their own important way. I'm sure there are loads of important news but keep doing what you are doing, it's a collection of valuable insights into this... abyss. Some of these crazy stories are hilarious in their own way. Thanks Konstantin for making these informative videos, and making them filled with heart and soul and humanity, and not just dry news and facts. :) As a westerner, we don't hear much at all from inside Russia anymore, since it's a criminal offense to report anything critical of Russia itself, its military or the "special military operation" in Ukraine, and our media orgs don't dare to send any correspondents anymore. It's like back in the Soviet Union days. Complete blackout, except for what state propaganda puts out (I can't believe TASS is still around... lol! "Pravda" too, right? Wow... I almost feel nostalgic! lol)
And, except for internet guys like you of course. We didn't have this window into Russia back in the 70s and 80s when I was growing up, so it was ONLY Pravda and TASS back then. And it wasn't truth that they pushed, that's for sure.

My recollection is that I stopped watching him because his magical thinking - praying for Russia to transform into a humane, civilised society - meant I stopped respecting him and I started to question the value of his perspective.

I was surprised when you THATS how Russian people think now in regard to the trailer with Western leaders faces on it. It brought to mind the long lines of Russians waiting to show their intense grief at the death of a Russian man imprisoned by Putin for having the temererity to challenge Putins methods. We've received torrential rains lately in Canada as well...yes mother nature can do a lot of damage and cause flooding. However, in Russia it seems more insane. At least here we try to counter flow with our dams and stuff. Not saying we don't get floods but i think most modern countries receiving the same weather would fare better because of the infrastrucures in place compare to russia.

What you are speaking concerning the average Russian citizen has always concerned me for I have to believe I would be no different having heard nothing but gov bs all my life. I thought when the relatives started noticing missing family that never returned from war might wake up. After all, the numbers of missing, killed and injured are staggering when will that matter?
Great question! But nobody at all from Moscow or St Petersburg has been drafted, so the rest are spread throughout a huge area. Thus the families of all of the dead are spread out across that vast area.
The only places that were really hard hit by the draft are the Asian parts in the far north and far east. Nobody in the west speaks the languages of those areas. (Though the easterners do also speak Russian, because it's forced on them.) And nobody in western Russia watches or reads any news from there.
Some soldiers come from the near abandonded villages all across the country. Those villages have absolutely nothing but disintegrating old houses. The people burn fences, sheds, and peices of abandonded houses in their wood stoves for warmth and cooking. (You can see this in MANY videos on the channel called Vasya In The Hay.) They have neither tv nor newspapers. And the Kremlin dictates exactly what the news outlets can say anyway!
The people do protest in the far east and north, where most of the soldiers who were forced to go and who died are from. They protest there a lot! And they do get tossed in jail for it a lot too, but that doesn't stop them. The thing is that Moscow and St Pete's etc don't hear about it, and the Kremlin doesn't care.
In the early days of the war, protests in Moscow and St Pete's were brutally shut down, so those trendy young people who are all protected from the draft either don't care, or they are afraid to protest. Unless the inner circle take Putin out that change will never happen, but by now they must be getting close.
If Ukraine EVER gets the equipment and ammo they were promised, and really threatens those 2 cities, then and only then will the top people toss Putin out. But who will take over then is the big question!
I must add that Ukraine has done a heroic and top notch job with what little they have had! Even though the Russian army is completely corrupt and incompetent, they are big. They've been losing over 500 men a day for nearly the entire time, and over 800 for at least a year. It's been over 1000 a day for the last several months, and yet they still keep on, because they have so many more. Their meat waves are unending!
But Ukraine is winning anyway! With almost no equipment! All I can say is WOW! What incredibly brave people! Personally, in spite of the nice buildings that would be lost, I would just love to see them completely flatten those 2 cities. And destroy Russia forever.

I've lived in the tornado belt of the U.S. all my life.
A tornado is not the same thing as a hurricane though. Tornados form erratically inside a thunderstorm and collapse after a few minutes, so they cause strictly local damage, but often - because one cannot prepare for them - worse ones in that small area. Hurricanes exist for weeks and follow predictable paths (one orange guy even altered a hurricane's path with a Sharpie a few years back), are much more powerful than tornados but only affect certain areas.
