hi Prabu, you made me cry again and thanks for mentioning my name in this vlog. This place is a divine for me. It was in early 2000, when I was hunting for a job this place fed me at affordable price, and no side effects. Iyya Vasudevan is a down to the earth good human. They say limited meals but we can ask for extra and there won't be any hesitation. Iyya and the workers will easily read our minds and they will come and ask, "do you want extra poriyal or extra parauppu and also extra rice". Though the rice they gave in the cup is more than sufficient. I like the the ambiance which did not change for 20+ years. I always make sure I visit this temple whenever I visit India. May god bless Iyya Vasudevan for a million years of good health and happiness.

அதெல்லாம் சரி. சாப்பாடு எப்படி இருக்கு, விலை எவ்வளவு, opening time, closing time, இப்படி எதுவுமே இல்லை இந்த வீடியோவில். இதல மட்டும் இல்லை. எல்லா வீடியோவிலையும். அதனால்தான் இந்த சேனலை நான் பார்ப்பது இல்லை. Being born and brought up in Thiruallikkeni, I stayed opposite to this mess. (Till 1989) . Neenacha beachuku poovom, with our 12 tenant group of seniors and kids with packed food from each house. Studied in HHS, with evening kadhakalatchebam going with my Paati. Life is with out any kavalai even with out any facilities like phone or TV. Only recreation is through radio. Now everything is there, but...

I have taken food here about 40 years back. It is true it does not harm the stomach. Feels great about the mess.

Been eating here for last 10 yrs.. My dad suggested me this mess first as he was born and brought up in Triplicane.. Even today when I think of meals my mind automatically goes to this place.. Their banana leaf.. Signature mould of rice.. Paruppu nei.. Their Thursday and Sunday Spl Pineapple rasam.. Man.. This place is heaven.. 🤤

This brought back my old memories from 1998. I recently visited India in 2017 and it had the same taste. I moved to US in 2006 but cannot another devoted mess like Kasi Vinayaga.

I used to work with dad for one year daily I would go with him to kasivinayaga. My dad is a regular customer there .
I too had lunch everyday for almost 1.5 years... No side effects...

I studied n university guindy, our hostels were close to kotturpuram, govt mess, some days dinner will not be great, so we go walking to kotturpuram , so many shops , i miss those food, month end week will hv 150rs still we could manage good food there, last yr went there after almost 10yrs, many shops dont exist, covid impact, cant stop my tears!
I have been going to this mess since 2000. And still I go there whenever I could. 21 years past and the taste and ambience remains the same. First time when I had food here when the price of a meal was Rs 16. Now it's around Rs 90. The young boys in their early 20s who served me food then are still working there. The happy thing is that they still remember the old timers. Good old memories. 😂
I have been following your videos from beginning, your narration and socially responsibility in giving importance to all kind of hotel owners is very encouraging. I don’t live in India, your videos keeps my sanity in check since I love food 🙏🏽

I would say Appa, Amma and Kasi vinayaga during my bachelor days.
We used to work in egmore and drive down to this mess, wait for token and have the food but it was always more than 100% satisfying for us. It used to be 20rupees for a meal and 3 rupees for curd in 2003.
If we opt for less rice and no ghee, they used to give us back a token worth 2 rupees and 1 rupee respectively which could be given at the cash counter and and get the refund. So, for 17 rupees it was rice, sambar, rasam, more, koottu, poriyal, appalam and urugai.

Good to see your face Prabhu sir. I've never visited KVM. Still the KVM vlog you posted couple of years ago has become a benchmark for me. I would compare any restaurant with the standard of KVM.
From my heart I say that your videos are unique, because of the way you covered the eateries of Trichy region. I did my higher studies in Trichy from 1999 to 2007. I have tasted almost all the classic and modern restaurants in and around Trichy. You have mentioned what we have felt while we were at those restaurants twenty years ago.
Congratulations to you. Expose such classic places from all parts of Tamilnadu and make people like Mr. Angu, me and many others cry with our nostalgia.

1986 ல் நான் மத்திய அரசு வேலை கிடைத்து திருவல்லிக்கேணியில் தங்கியிருந்தேன். எங்களுக்கு இந்த mess தான் சொர்க்கம். இப்போதும் கூட (2024) நான் நேரம் கிடைக்கும் போதெல்லாம் என் நண்பர்களுடன் இந்த மெஸ்ஸூக்கு போய் சாப்பிடுகிறேன். Very very taste and hygiene food. You can't get such type of food anywhere in Chennai. Old but Gold sweet memories.
