  • Roborock overhauled their Mapping Process for 2020 and 2021. Now you can save up to 4 floor plans, switch between different Maps and the Robot can automatically switch between the saved Maps based on what floor it is on. This NEW update is currently on the Roborock S4 Max, S5 Max and S6 MaxV. Roborock stated others models will be getting this update as well.

    Followed your advice under another video and bought S6 Maxv. No regrets 😉 Also a tip for the glass and mirror objects. If it doesn't bother you, you can stick a 10cm wide strip of paper to the bottom of the door or mirror end to end. Works like a charm. The robot "sees" the objects at approx. 10cm height.

No release date yet, I am just assuming, but I did see a comment on Adam’s Channel saying that he/she Emailed ROBOROCK about if they are making an Auto-Empty bin. • @soccerguy2433
      @soccerguy2433 Před 3 lety

      the self-empty bin just make the dirt path from robot to bin longer. Which means at some point that path will become dirty and restrict the movement of dirt from the robot bin to the larger storage bin. This just makes more long term maintenance cleaning. Therefore, my opinion is that self-cleaning bins don't make things easier... just later and more difficult.

    Hi Nathan I just received my S6 MaxV today. I have watched your tutorial which is great. Thanks for doing them. What a help! I have a very large floor area. Our house is very long and large. My friend said to first do section by section so that it maps it properly. By listening to you and reading all the comments I think that would be the wrong way to do it. It took 30 minutes to do one long sunroom this afternoon. So it will take hours to do the entire house. Should I delete that first map of the sunroom that I did this afternoon and press start from the dock and let the vacuum go for it on the entire house for hours and then divide rooms if I need to on the app? If the doors are shut to the hallway or bedrooms whilst it is vacuuming later down the track (not while initially mapping), this wouldn't cause a problem to the machine mapping and vacuuming would it? It would just vacuum where it can get to that day? Thanks so much xx

    Just got this yesterday. It got stuck on my shag rug and it ripped one of the little rubber sweeper things off. Of course. So I spent hours trying to figure out how to block it from going on that rug. But I would like to have it go on the other side of the rug but the way my furniture is and the rug it can't happen. I have 2 cats. Now black Friday I bought the Roomba 677 and I loved it even after I vacuumed it sucked up so much hair I was disgusted but it was so random it wasn't getting all areas so I returned it after a couple days and alot of research to find an affordable vacuum with mapping. So I found the s4 max. So I used it last night and I feel like it didn't really get alot of stuff out of my carpet and hard floors. I'm on the fence about 5he rubber sweeper things vs the Roombas brush. Another downfall is this seems a little wider and isn't able to get under my dining chairs like the Roomba could. So when the chairs are pushed in it's only around the chairs so that's definitely a downfall. I'm not going to usey normal vacuum for a few days just to see if that makes a difference in anything. I'm still confused on the map and setting up rooms.

    Just got one. The first time you use it to map, do you need to clear the floor of all obstacles, including chairs, lamps, coffee table etc...? Then once you put them all back it will detect the new obstacles on the floor and clean around them? Or do you leave those. If you leave them, but move them later will it clean the spot they were at, or will it go around it because that area was blocked when it initially mapped?
    It's weird that the app and manual really doesn't explain this

    • @RobotMasters

      Hello so my recommendation is to pickup all the small obstacles as much as you can, Shoes, Socks, power cables and other random stuff. Furniture and larger object you don’t need to move. Once the robot completes a cleaning run it will save a map. You don’t necessarily need to pickup afterwards since the robot pretty good at going around objects. Also larger objects the robot will automatically include them in its map.

    Hi Nathan, am I correct that the docking station must be moved to each floor the first time the map is made, but then after the map is made, you do not need the docking station for it to use the map?

    Thank you Nathan! I just got my S4 Max and I still have yet to successfully create a full map of my house. :-(
    The first time I made a mistake and had my master suite door closed. I deleted that map and tried to have it map the entire house again but then it ran out of battery. After charging, it never returned to finish. So now I am starting from square one again and I’m trying to create a full map. Or is it better or possible to create one map (Map 1) keeping master suite door closed. And then create another map (Map 2) of just the master suite?
    I am just not sure how to do that in regards to the docking station…? I want to like this device, but so far I am frustrated. Please Help!
