No one reads descriptions so I shall put this here So I had this crack idea of like 'What if Dream had a really deep voice, like deeper than everyone else's but he raises it to be high pitched so he's less intimidating?' and this is what spawned this lovely headcanon, so like, yeah
Not just Nightmare. All of them. Also, I think if any of our idiots remember, Dream and Nightmare are twins, and Nightmare is imagined to have a deep voice, most of the time (I think) so, I guess Dream having one (once his puberty is finally over) isn't actually a surprise.
I mean, he IS Nightmare's twin. I think Nightmare's voice is imagined by most to be pretty deep too, so, I dunno, maybe it makes sense ? (I don't know if twins are supposed to have similar voices too, likely but not sure). It would be funny to see the reaction of the Bad to this, though. (Also, maybe Dream, at first, didn't need to make his voice go to a higher pitch. He was in a 6 yo body when he first got free from stone, and then trained under Lanny, for some years, but at most, for now, in canon, he is 12. I don't think twelve yo have that kind of deep voice, normally, so, it maybe came later on, and Dream just forced his voice to be closer of what he had before puberty, because it would be less surprising. And people wouldn't confuse his voice with Nightmare's, maybe)
