- Did you know that Singapore actually has our very own watch factory? When creating these time-pieces, precision is key. Each part has to be as precise as one micron in order to tell time accurately. That's 1/60th of a strand of hair!
Drawn by the potential of Singapore as an innovative and high-tech industrial hub, Seiko established its first overseas subsidiary in 1976. The company began as a fully integrated watch manufacturer, handling everything from commercial raw materials to finished products, supported by the world's first robot-controlled manufacturing line for precision watches.

Anyone here has a Seiko watch made in Singapore? Show us please!
I've never seen any Seiko watches which is made in Singapore !
Omg im wearing the same watch as the one in the thumbnail
I had a gen1 monster with made in Singapore stamped on the dial.
@@user-vn3bm so do I!!!... sweet!
As the GM said, Seiko only manufactures the movement in Singapore, while the watch itself is made overseas. I have a few Seiko mechanical watches, none of them has the word Singapore stamped anywhere.
Seems the marketing of seiko watch is poor.
Seems no body in Singapore knew its made in Singapore. Should proudly market it.
Yes! If I knew that we produce Seiko, I'd support our domestic product.
That is because Seiko manufactures the parts used in their watches globally, only the movement is made here, not the entire watch.
@@rainbowmagic7888 How udk
I never cease to be amazed at the quality of video productions from this channel. Keep them coming!
Agreed!
I love seiko watches. Didnt even know they made the movements here in Singapore
I remember reading somewhere that watch can be labeled as made in Japan as long as a Japanese citizen oversaw production.
2:41 he wears a casio G-shock 🤔🤔🤔
The Singapore made Seiko movements are made from the 1980s to the early 1990s only. We don't get them because the movements are only found in watches meant for the overseas market like in the US. There were some movements made by either Malaysia or Singapore, but the Singapore ones are hardest to find. The yellow watch featured here is the SKA035 (affectionately known as Bumblebee) and it can be found with Singapore and Malaysia made movements. For Seiko collectors, the Singapore made movements actually command a much higher price and collectability factor.
Ive looked at many seikos but have never came across a singapore made movement.
They make 7s26, 7s36 movements.... especially the k series model for the Seiko skx007, Seiko 5s and so on
The Seiko watches indicated with ‘Movt Singapore’ on the watch were made between 1980s to early 2000s. You probably can’t get them off retail now! Seiko still produces some movements in Singapore but it’s no longer labelled.
The grandfather of the skx007, the 7002-7000 only had movements made in Singapore
I own an SKX009 with your Singapore movement! Keeps great time! Love your “break time” chime! Very pleasant!
Can share a picture of this magnificent movement with the rest if us?
The chime at the end sounds exactly like the Seiko wall clock in my house. Too bad it has stopped moving and changing battery also didn't fix it.
I own one of the yellow dial Seiko SKX watches shown in the thumbnail, and a SKX175 (US version of the SKX009). Both are marked “Made in Singapore”. 😃👍
If you ever want to sell that yellow skx. Let me know! ;)
Glad to learn they still make watches in Singapore, thought they discontinued it! :)
still make but export it.
Also made in JB.
Only produces Movement. And for your info the factory is already upgraded SII Marsiling area Woodlands.
THE ENDING IS HILARIOUS HAHAHAHAHHAHAA
PRECISION AT ITS FINEST
Always facinate me how we can effectively machine such tiny detailed components, really cool to see!
So cool! Love Seiko watches. Have never seen Singapore on any dials, would love to have one.
loved how the story was told.... very well done and keep them coming :)
"Precision at its best .... Sayonara". Lol. 👍
My Seiko SKX is probably made in Singapore. I did not know Seiko has their factory there, I thought the factory was in neighboring Malaysia. Anyway, quality is quite good.
As a Seiko fan I loved this and appreciated the upload. The G Shock at 2:42 surprised me lol
This is a pleasant surprise. Didn't know we had a local Seiko movement manufacturer!
Like seiko, never new they made them in Singapore , thanks for the update
I've got an SKX173 made in Singapore in 1999. Fantastic watch, runs great and as far as I can tell, never serviced.
Very instructive! Thanks for this video
Nice ! My seiko's movement was made in malaysia. It's a 7s26-02j0. Regards from Brazil.
2:41... that Seiko watch employee is wearing a Casio G-Shock.
I have a Seiko SKX173 made in Singapore and it has became highly sought after compared to the more common Malaysia versions.
Thank u for this video!
WOW WOW WOW!! excited to buy this watches. Fan of Seiko!
wow, I didn't know that! Always did liked Seiko. Proud of Singapore.
Best and affordable company seiko
Do they make the generic Seiko NH35 movements? If yes, then we should be able to purchase directly from them and do Seiko modding ourselves..LOL.
2:40
Wearing Casio G-Shock at Seiko factory, SAVAGE😆😆
You've got sharp eagle eyes! It is as savage! 🤣
WHERE CAN I GET A SINGAPORE MADE MOVEMENT 😱
no where anymore.
The Seiko watches indicated with ‘Movt Singapore’ on the watch were made between 1980s to early 2000s. You probably can’t get them off retail now! Seiko still produce some movements in Singapore but it’s not labelled.
TOP 10 ANIME BETRAYALS

Is the SKX007K made in singapore?
anyone knows the model number for the watch at 0:33?
"Precision at its best" Nowadays seldom got such company around having such "precision". =P
Awesome video
Omg didn't even know it makes watches. Been to marsiling my whole life but got 0 idea of it
I have e a few Seiko watches. I love them but the quality control has really gone down. What a shame . Only the JDM watches are really good .
I have five SEIKO watches including Black monster. Can I get SEIKO made in Singapore at Malaysia?
Which Seiko movements are made here ?
Wah want already lah
Where to get one?
can't get them liao...
@@WristDistractions How come :( I thought this video is recent so they are still producing?
Hey! Yes they’re still making some movements in Singapore, but it’s no longer labelled as such. The Seiko watches indicated with ‘Movt Singapore’ on the watch were made between 1980s to early 2000s. You probably can’t get them off retail now, but can look around on the second hand market.
Habibie said Sg as Little Red Dot back on 90's
Where can I buy this singapore movement seiko?
The Seiko watches printed with Movt Singapore were made between 1980s to early 2000s. You probably can’t get them off retail now!
@@OGS.Official argh. Hope to own one of them one day. Something to hand down to my next gen.
They won’t make the Grand Seiko snow flake and lion dials here, would they?
Omg . You must be joking . Watch a few videos on CZcams about the Grand Seiko .
Very interesting, thank you for a fascinating video.
Swiss watch manufacturing... be very, very frightened!
they make the movements
not the watch
putting it here for people to understand
its at woodlands , marsiling area
can i get one for a discount ?
"Watch" out!
Nash Hadid Help la
caught this too HAHA
I spent good money at least twice to change my Seiko watch batteries at its service center. Because long ago I changed once outside. Then later water can go in. Seiko centre said outside over tightened the cap and damaged the seal. But then it was super expensive to change batteries at the centre. I now heck care and just change anywhere. In fact I have stopped wearing watches.
Yes as watch is more of a fashion nowadays. You have phone which has clock already
I love seiko watches but both of mine run +/- 15. Sec a day. My swiss made Hamilton runs +/-2 sec a day . Why can't Seiko do this ?
I thought Seiko Watch factory should be way more advance.
Nice to hear scheduling pronounced properly for once.
Times up, Lim teh time
Funny they talk about quality when my seiko bezel is not aligned to the markings of the dial
movement not construction.
My new Seiko 5 sports is ok .
Many people say on CZcams that the K versions are made in Malaysia. No one here i asked know that, so, perhaps, it's actually made in Singapore.😅
There is also another Seiko factory in Pasir Gudang, Malaysia
@@microvizart oh, is that so? Thanks. You got the location? Would love to make a visit. Even, my AD didn't know.
Walawerrrrrrr(Whatever) HAHHAHA
I thought it was made in Malaysia.
Good quality but their designs are dull. Casio watches looks better and trendier.
Hmm I wonder if they need good eyesight for this job?
Nope. It's mainly assembled by machine. That's why the price is quite cheap. Also Seiko cheaper automatic models aren't really known for supreme accuracy movement. They're quite decent for its price, just not the best. That's why Seiko also has Credor for more expensive models
Swatch makes the simpliest mechanical movement
Less fewer parts
Cheaper faster better
Now I know who made the lousy quality Seiko movement in my 2 year old mini turtle. Wear 24 hours for one month but reserve only 12 hours instead of 40 hours as claimed.
The equipment seems outdated
Swiss equipment are more modern
The chinese has fighter 4gen planes
Singapore cannot even make decent drones
New generations all wear iwatch. Who still wear these bulky heavy watches?
