Meticulously crafted from 99.99% pure silver, this coin from the Australian Lunar Series III - 2024 Year of the Dragon celebrates the fifth animal of the lunar zodiac.
The coin’s reverse portrays a Chinese mythical dragon with stylised waves and fog - allusions to its control of the elements. Included in the design is the Chinese character for ‘dragon’, the inscription ‘DRAGON 2024’, and a ‘P125’ mintmark signifying The Perth Mint’s 125th anniversary.
Each animal of the lunar zodiac is said to bestow its dominant characteristics on those born during its rule. The fifth of 12 animals in the calendar, the dragon bestows bravery, ambition, intelligence, and good fortune on those born under its influence in 1952, 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000, 2012 and 2024.

Perth mint. The Most Beautiful coins in the WORLD BY FAR Hands down!
Totally agree with you 👌
@@DantheCollectingMan bought more this morning. They’re gorgeous
Those are some beautiful dragon coins! Thank you for showing them on your channel. The 5 oz is an impressive coin. 8 is a lucky number. Happy Lunar New Year! 🐲
This coin is a winner! Dan, I can understand why you're collecting all of them including the kilo. Beautiful coins, thanks again.
Cheers Dan. I think the 1/2oz’s are the dark horses in this Lunar coin race. A few of the older ones are quite hard to come by. 🍻
I have only the 1oz coins don't own any thing larger or smaller the 5oz will be interesting to see Dan that would be so heavy😂 the frosted coins are ok but I like the proof got the 1oz and like you said they are very popular haven't got any coloured yet but working on it cheers mate thanks for sharing. 👍💰👊
Great video, thank you for sharing all these wonderful coins.
Would you add 2024 Australia 5 oz Silver Lunar Dragon Proof (HR, w/Box & COA) to your collection???
Happy Chinese Lunar Mew Year 🙏
Hey Dan, really enjoy your vids. Please make a video, on all different bullion and other PM coins. Which ones you think worth buying or not. Thank you
I have those 2oz coin very nice need to get the 5oz, but buy a kilo coin they look awesome.
I bought 1/2, 1 and 2 oz. If I remember correctly the premium spread between 1 oz and 5 oz go from high to just plain nuts.
You be referring to the micro stamped "P" security feature in the 11 o'clock swirl of the coin near the top left-hard side of the claw, note it not present in the 1oz Ag colour dragon proof. Those rolls of 1oz Ag sold out too quick on the PM site/bullion room, I only got myself a roll of 1oz Ag dragon privy
Hey Dan, The micro lettering on the dragon coins seems to be on the right hand side in the swirl. To me it looks like the letters "IJ"
Do you know if these coins will switch during the year to having Charles' effigy?
What did you think of the Melbourne anda versions?
White metal is like yellow metal
Yellow metal is yellow gold.
White metal is like silver gold nowadays....
Yellow gold and white silver is like gold.....
I have not heard that before, thanks for sharing. Dan
