Creating Flowers and leaves using the Shelee Art Bloom Technique on 6x6 canvas.
Paints colors are - Amsterdam tube paint with pouring medium
Base paint is Color place by Walmart / Antique white mixed in 4 cup batches stored in a pouring Container with 1/4 cup of Golden GAC800
I make my own pouring medium -
2 cups Burr deep bass 8300 / 1 & 1/2 cup of Polyacrylic
1/8 cup of Golden GAC 800
Cell Activator - I always use Australian FLoetrol
Mixed 3 to one / 3 floetrol to one paint. I always use Amsterdam oaint for my Cell Activator.
I use the worlds smallest leaf blower found on Amazon.

My spinner box is a hard plastic wreath holder, I had the hump cut out, taped up the whole with duck tape and put my spinner in it. Works great/ bought one and now I have two cause of the top and bottom. 🥰

Oh yes Susan, since then, I have moved on and changed my base paint since then.
I now use Sherwin-Williams “paint to go” it has become my new favorite base paint.
I still just on a good healthy squirt of the golden jacket 800 into the container.

Hi Beth, I’m so glad you like the videos. I used to try to mix with water and floetrol too and it never seem to work out for the way I wanted. But then I took a class with waterfall acrylics, Karen was great, she gave me all the recipes and I’ve been off and running ever sense. Check out my recipes video. I will show you how I mix them, I show you what the recipe is and then you two will be off and running. Now that recipe is for a bloom, swipe and a flip cup. If you’re looking to do Dutch pours then you’re gonna have to follow someone that does them. I found them kind of difficult, one day I’ll master it, but right now I’m having too much fun with what I’m doing. There’s so many different types of pouring techniques that you can learn that you can never get bored with this method of painting. I couldn’t be happier. That’s great so if you have all the materials to make you are pouring medium and you have your flow trawl and your pains gray now all you need to do is choose colors you want to paint with and oh of course your base paint🤗 and you’re on your way

Is there a video of you mixing your cell activator? I'm very new to this so still in my learning phase, soaking up as much info as possible. I'm itching to get started but still need to learn more. Any suggestions for a beginner? Also when using your acrylic paint, is one brand/quality better for this medium of art than others?
Hi Laruebridge, 🤗👋👋👋 that’s awesome I’m very excited for you wanting to play with this painting I think that’s amazing. I thought that I had done that in that particular video but you don’t need to see it necessarily. I always buy my Australian flow troll in the small bottle. I like the small bottle best you can mix it by the teaspoon or a tablespoon. I paint a lot, so I mix it by the tablespoon and it’s 3 floetrol to 1 paint.
I had this mini whisk and I whisk mine up because it’s kind of interesting, the Amsterdam paint that I use for my cell activator is pretty thick and then the floetrol is not thick so it makes it hard to mix, but if I use it with the mini whisk It works really good but you don’t have to. I’m just anxious and wanted to mix up quickly.
About paint I use a bunch of different kinds. I use a lot of the deco art paint. The ones that are in the small bottles they’re very reasonable to buy. I particularly like the metallics. They are very nice. And the color shift the deco art color shift paint so great to those are reasonably priced. But I’ll buy all kinds, I buy Liquitex, I’ve bought masters touch, I think most of the tube paints are decent.

I have a question. I’m watching this video and when you get to the recipe for the pouring medium, you are making a double batch so you used 4 cups of the Behr paint and then when you added the Minwax Polyacrylic, you used two 1 ½ cups twice (3 cups) . Is that correct or should it be ½ cup and ½ cup which would total 1 cup (instead of 3). I hope this makes sense.
And then add ¼ cup of GAC800 (for double batch)
Please let know. I want to make sure I have it right and I was confused.

I’ve recently changed the recipe a slight bit because every paint that you use to mix with it has a different consistency so there’s room to adjust better with my newly revised mixing of my medium. So for one batch, make 2 cups of Behr ultra deep bass #8300, With one Cup Of The PolyAcrylic Gloss Varnish and 1/8 cup of GAC 800. This way, I find that the medium works absolutely perfect with deco art paint and if using a to paint, that’s a little bit thicker, you use obviously less paint and if you need to send it to be the right consistency, you can add some Polyacrylic to it. Also, if you have your paints, I’ve been sitting around for a bit and you open them up and you’ll find that they are second of May have dried out a bit, You can add some Polyacrylic to it to bring it back to life.
I hope that was helpful? I’ve been poor my pouring medium into dispenser condiment dispenser bottles so I can just squeeze out the amount of medium,I need at anyone given time and add my paint, Stir it up and I’m ready to go.
I found that making the medium this way worked out better in the long run.

I did take the course but I was already blooming. It's good, there's a real community that goes along with that also. If you ever have questions on anything about acrylic pouring there there for you. From products to painting. It's not that expensive.

I only use Australian floetrol. It’s completely different the American floetrol.

If I use these recipes can I be guaranteed to get cells or do I need to add something different for that
Well, the whole process is somewhat scientific. If you’re in America and you’re using the same type of base paint if you need to know which one to buy you can email me and I’ll give you a list of paints that you can use for your base. If you mix your medium up the way, and mix it with your paint with the proper consistency. (You can look at my other videos about mixing paint) and then you use the Australian floetrol with Amsterdam paint to make your cell activator and swipe over your pants or blow on them to make a bloom, You will have cells!! Hi there from across the pond 👋👋👋 yes, the 8300 is untainted house paint. If you take the Shelee art course there’s lots of people there that live in your country and can help you with what works best there. The course is not too expensive and you’d learn a real lot. Pouring medium - Untainted house paint half liter, Polyacrylic or Joe Sonia varnish water-based varnish 300 mL, Golden GAC 800 - 30 mL.
Base house paint 1000 ml, Golden GAC800 60 ml.
Cell Activator- Australian floetrol 15 mL, Amsterdam paint 5 mL

Hi there creativeness, This is a base paint are use for myself and I use this for my bloom paintings, swipe paintings, flip cup. I would use this as a base for a flip cup too. I mostly bloom or swipe.
I’ve seen other people use their base paint the same as the consistency of their poor Paint but this is always worked for me and I’m happy with it it has a thicker consistency, so you really want to make sure you spin off work or tilt off as much as you can so it doesn’t crack and I also use GAC 800 in my pouring medium and my base paint so to help prevent any cracking you can check out my mixing videos if you like for more information.

Well, Rosemary, it’s different for all different types of paint so it’s not some thing that is exact .
For example, if I’m using a deco art paint from the bottle, it’s usually a soft light body paint so I’ll give it a really healthy squirt of paint, but if I’m going to use a paint from a tube that has intensity, much thicker, I’ll maybe only use about an inch squeezed from the tube and then you have to check your consistency. You want it to be able to drop off your stick as you scoop it up and let it drizzle. You wanna see it where they called mound and if you swirl the paint over the top, do you want to be able to see it and then watch it just dissipate quickly. Maybe that’s a video I should do that’s a little bit more specific on those terms. Often I am not completely ready when I go and make a video 😆🤦🏼♀️😆 and I’ll show the consistency of the paint. It does need to be much thicker than a Dutch pour. And a little FYI often I use the deco art paint.
Also, the BEHR 8300 is going to be disappearing unfortunately, they no longer making it.

Have you tried ordering it online from Walmart?
Last time I bought it I did order it online. Just make sure you’re ordering satin and not flat paint.
I’ve also been using Sherwin-Willians Paint call Paint to go. I’ve been using their color snowbound.
It is more expensive but for the winter months when it’s cold it’s been working out really nicely.
I actually show it in some of my videos more recently.
It has said out of stock for Color Place paint for awhile. I read that the paint company and Walmart had a disagreement so Walmart has quit carrying it. Grab it if you can find it!
You can also use PPG semi gloss interior house paint from Home Depot. Here is a link 🤗
