  • The Grid, by Philip Kerr
A rare audiobook, narrated by Brent Spiner. It's not quite so bad it's good, but I love it because it's such a perfect zeitgeist for 90s techno-horror, where everyone was afraid their video games and PC monitors were going to come alive and kill them.
"A brilliant thriller about technology gone mad, The Grid does for the modern office building what Jurassic Park did for dinosaurs and Jaws did for sharks. An egocentric architect creates a masterpiece in the heart of Los Angeles: the Gridiron is the world's smartest skyscraper - controlled by a supercomputer, fully automated, almost alive. But when the brain of the building takes control, a team of architects, engineers and two L.A. cops are trapped inside a building that is turning itself into a serial killer - and a living, breathing dungeon of terror."
