Chicago Cubs third base coach Mike Quade and Lou Piniella kick off the party in Wrigleyville honoring the University of New Orleans 30-year baseball reunion....
Same here , Love him ! I live close to the home town of Johnny Bench . I'ts been a while but used to see him at the coffee shop now and then. Small town Oklahoma 8 ) . Love to see Lou at a coffee shop !
Screw it. I’m a Mets fan who tuned to Cubs games to see him get ejected. He managed with passion, he cared about the team. The MLB I wish? Remove all this play reviews let’s go to 1990s type, fire every mlb manager. Clone Lou Pinella 30 times, clone Terry Collins and make him assistant, get me 30 Earl Weaver and 30 Wally Backman yeah that’s ejection galore. The games are very uneventful now. I mean listen to that crowd. Sound like Derek Lee hit his second grand slam. Nah the ump screwed up and is gonna get it from Lou
I will never forget that after the game he told reporters that he wanted to get some of the negativity off the players and thats why he went all out like that. After that incident the team responded and they started winning. He is one of a kind.
At the time, I was a Braves fan, but my brother was a Cubs fan. I remember after that incident, the Cubs started playing better baseball. Commentators were saying, "Lou has sparked the team!"
God i miss this city... Cubs fans were so ruthless with officiating its great!! :) im proud to be a cubs fan..... after 2 years of losing this will be Dale Svem.... :)
I was at the game in the bleachers. Entire bleachers thru all their trash on the field. One guy gets back from the bathroom late and throws one cup on the field... gets tossed. Lol
Seriously, is there anything in all the world more satisfying than watching Cub fan suffer? That they actually hold out hope year after year is soooooooo precious! I just want to pinch their sad, drunk little cheeks.
I'll always remember ol Lou for his slow ass strides out to the mound when he came on the field to relieve a pitcher..... That guy walked like old people fuck.
What's funny is that I remember watching this game on WGN a couple years ago and the replay showed that the 3rd base umpire clearly made the correct call when the runner was tagged out on a stolen base attempt.
I imagine this Romans would have ate this up. Listening to the cheers reminds me of the movie Gladiator. Lou is a legend. He is a magnificent artist of entertainment!
Damn I wish baseball still had 'old-school' managers who would show emotion like Lou was prone to do. I think the game was loads more fun with fiery skippers because they inspired players to give 110% on the field whereas today's managers seem to stick to a code of ethics instead of demonstrating passion for their job. Likewise, many modern-day athletes play to earn a paycheck more than their love for the game.
Sweet Lou! Last of the old time managers. Sparky Anderson's gone, Earl Weaver's gone, Billy Martin's gone, and Lasorda, Larussa and Piniella are all retired. A long lost breed!
This ejection really sparked the Cubs in 07. I think it was by accident that Lou kicked Mark Wagner's foot, but it really helped the Cubs as a whole regardless how you look at it.
This is really how a coach fights with an umpire? I thought it was just a joke in Naked Gun, but they really do get in eachother's face and kick sand on their shoes! haha!
Reds fan here: this man gave us our last world series. I freaking love him

I love how the entire stadium erupts with cheering each time he kicked the baseball cap
+Brett Barnett
That cap was never the same after that.....
@@pigjubby1 LMAO 🤣😂😆
He was also kicking dirt on Mark Wegner the 3rd bas umpire.
The best part has to be the crowd cheering for every hat kick.
This is classic...very classic Lou Piniella. One of the most volatile managers ever in Major League Baseball.
Excellant example of the superb mentorship from the great Billy Martin
Lou turned the entire season around with that meltdown.
FACT!!!
Facts
I love LOU and love it when he snaps and goes crazy like this it's hilarious!
This was his 1st ejection as Cubs manager! Priceless! I remember this game like yesterday!
I was at this game, the crowd was absolutely insane.
Props to you for having an awesome seat and being at the right game at the right time.
God i miss this city... Cubs fans were so ruthless with officiating its great!! :) im proud to be a cubs fan..... after 2 years of losing this will be Dale Svem.... :)

Gotta love Lou! He learned from Billy Martin quite well!.:-)
Lou Blew! What a beautiful thing. Go Cubs!!
Love me some Uncle Lou!!! Great manager!!!
We miss him greatly in Seattle
Sweet Lou, the Bob Knight of baseball.
Man, when you see him running out of the dugout, HAHAHA, you know it's on!
I am a Cardinal fan but I have to admit that Lou was one of the best.
Lou is a gentle soul.
In my opinion Lou Piniella was the best cubs manager ever.
The fat clown left the Cubs as a complete failure.
Nope.. Maddon is
@@Dave-qb1iq wrong again, Dusty Baker is
Lmao, I grew up in Seattle and got to watch this regularly. Miss that guy.
Gotta love that Lou. If i am ever in trouble i would want him to be my lawyer in court. I may not win but knowing lou he will surely fight for you.
remembering seeing the classic Pinella moments in Seattle, this was actually quite tame of him. Guess age is catching up to him.
Baseball misses Lou.
Thumbs up for Sweet Lou to be inducted to the Hall of Fame!
2:25 a lady yells "That's a bad call ref!"
Lou was a great showman, he knew how to get thrown out n then really go after ya. The fans seemed to love it, like they were waiting for it.
Ya'll gotta admit, that ump has some balls to stand up in the face of Lou.
HAHAHAHA, YOU GO LOU, You will be missed in the world of baseball!
This happens when you play for Billy Martin
Ya damn straight
100 years and counting.Go Reds!
It's sad to say, but this will probably go down as Lou's best moment as Manager of the Cubs.
I'll always remember ol Lou for his slow ass strides out to the mound when he came on the field to relieve a pitcher..... That guy walked like old people fuck.
And the crowd goes NUTS when he throws the hat. I LOVE IT!
One of my favorite moments!
MAGISTRAL, único, GRANDE, INIGUALABLE, COMO TE ECHAMOS DE MENOS.
What's funny is that I remember watching this game on WGN a couple years ago and the replay showed that the 3rd base umpire clearly made the correct call when the runner was tagged out on a stolen base attempt.
I was there, one of those hats are mine! That call WAS bull and the umps deserved it. Lou deserves a medal.
I imagine this Romans would have ate this up. Listening to the cheers reminds me of the movie Gladiator. Lou is a legend. He is a magnificent artist of entertainment!
That's crazy to watch Lou Piniella's Meltdown at Wrigley Field on CZcams.
Way to go, Lou!
The best thing about this tirade is that the Cubs started winning as soon as it was over, and went on to win the division.
the most exciting thing in baseball.
M's fan here.
Lou, we love you and oh god we miss you.
That was a great one!!!
LOU!!!!!! Best Video On CZcams!!!!
That hat carried plenty of distance!!! WOW!!!
What a classy stadium.
... and then the Cubs started winning. I love this game.
Legend!!!!
Thanks for reminding me that Sweet Lou once managed the Cubs.
I have been a big fan of Lou Piniella's reactions after he gets ejected. Im going to save this to my favorites
haha i love all the hats in the outfield
Even though I am a Cardinal fan I love this video.
I just love to see a Cubs hat kicked around!!
This shit is awesome. I go to games all season and I've never caught a fight or a coach flipping out. I'm keeping my fingers crossed this year...
Sweet Lou! Last of the old time managers. Sparky Anderson's gone, Earl Weaver's gone, Billy Martin's gone, and Lasorda, Larussa and Piniella are all retired. A long lost breed!
lou rocks!!! simply rocks!!!
Jakedown1995 I totally agree one of the best ejections ever
How much you wanna bet that when the Grim Reaper comes to get Lou, he kicks dirt all over him?
Gotta love the guy.
LOU LOU LOU!!!!!! U ROCK!!!!
LOL!! I couldn't resist..
Sweet Lou!!!
Lou knew how to turn things around
I had the pleasure of seeing Lou do this when he was manager in Cincinnati. What a great triad that was
Lou Piniella is probably the best coah the cubs ever had
I love Lou.
Lou! Lou! Lou!
This is great, I'd rather watch this than the game.
I wish I could go back to the beginning of the season, put some money on the Cubbies!!
i fuckin love it we need more lous out there in the world lol...fuckin snap show
This ejection really sparked the Cubs in 07. I think it was by accident that Lou kicked Mark Wagner's foot, but it really helped the Cubs as a whole regardless how you look at it.
I love Lou
Oh, yes! Lou was GREAT with Seattle!
Laughing about the fans who followed suit by tossing stuff out in the outfield!
Lou Piniella is the best manager ever
The beer belly pushes the Cubs forward with 1 kick of the cap.
AHAHAHAHAHA.... Omg... Even though I love the cardinals to death... I have respect for the cubs hiring an outstanding coach
Bob Knight of baseball.
Lou Piniella and Earl Weaver are two managers whos teams I would never want to make a call against.
Real classy Cubs fans!
Funny to see the minions cleaning up the field at the end lol
The other three umpires were like did you just throw Lou Piniella out of Wrigley Field? Do you want to die today?
future manager quade is jus chillen...
best guy
Thats called Cubs fans being showing there class.
Named my dog after LOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU he was great!
This is really how a coach fights with an umpire? I thought it was just a joke in Naked Gun, but they really do get in eachother's face and kick sand on their shoes! haha!
Classic.. #SweetLou
Mike Scioscia is the best manager in baseball.
Mount Lou has erupted!
GO CUBS !!!!
I remember this, he was more angry at his Cubs for playing like shit
@ajb438 Indeed he was. I watched this game live on TV that day. It was a game of inches literally but he was out for sure.
HAHAHA, Piniella is the man!
