  • Remarkable People by Etat Libre d’Orange - have you smelled it? It's one that doesn't seem to get much chatter in #fragcomm anymore.

Love the idea of having a book on different perfumes. I'll have to check this one out. I have one that talks about vintage perfumes, and to your point, the descriptions are fascinating, and not always how I would describe them. Etat Libre d'Orange is a fragrance house that I havent tried yet, but is on my list. Loved your description of Remarkable People, and that it is a all year round type of fragrance.

Thanks for your comment, Marybeth! The vintage perfume book you’re talking about - is it Scent and Subversion?

The book is by Lizzie Ostrom, Perfume a Century of Scents. It’s more of a fun type of book. It really isn’t as sophisticated as Scent and Subversion. Nevertheless, I enjoy reading books on perfume. Thank you for your suggestion.

Love the Luca Turin books. Great reference. I have a couple versions too. I also have Kindle version, good for quickly looking stuff up. Idiosyncratic likes and dislikes. Def don’t agree with everything. But their disses are often creative and funny,
so makes for a fun read. I have the Lizzie Ostrum book and another one I like is one I got from library “Perfume: In Search of Your Signature Scent” by Neil Chapman.

@@SarahBattersby_HappyMedusa I love that Neil Chapman book and his blog too! I’ll have to find that other book - what’s it called?
