- Sutra on the Perfection of wisdom (Japanese : Hannya Shingyo) sung by monks of the Shingon school. This well known sutra explain the path to realization of "emptiness" (conditioned coproduction) of all phenomena and the boddhisattva path (practice and vows to help all sentient beings).

Today, I just discovered that the chanting in King Ghidorah's theme in _King of the Monsters_ are taken from the Heart Sutra!
My happiest memory: chanting the Great Heart at Antei-ji in Kyoto, Japan with the monks and practicing there for the monthly sesshin. True Zen. What a wonderful atmosphere it was for a beginner! I can never repay the kindness of Uchiyama Roshii who let a little college girl from the states resume the practice of many lifetimes under his protection. As Koborri Roshii once said to us, " We will help each other to attain Enlightenment lifetime after lifetime."

I love this. I set this up as my moring alert ringtone. There is no better wake up signal than that gong and monks singing rhytmic. Bless you all :)
My day is not complete without hearing the Heart Sutra, thank you.

To me
There's something so satisfying about this...
I listen to this for one reason only: Ghidorah
I'm getting SERIOUS Ghidorah vibes listening to this now because of Godzilla: King of the Monsters.
Ghidorah approves.
How did I not notice? Rewatching later thanks 🙏🏼

my favorite part about these, is that historically, these were imported from china, but the Japanese Buddhists didn't know how to read Chinese, in Chinese, so they just read the kanji, with the japanese readings, but without grammar, or even making real words out of the kanji.
leading this to be complete gibberish. no Japanese person can even begin to translate this.
It's interesting how just the sound of the sutra is considered to be enough. I mean, if you had enough knowledge of literary Chinese you could understand it, but it's not really considered necessary and that's wild to me.
By "japanese readings" you mean the way japanese were able to/ made it to pronounce tha chinese language of that time?
@@user-me2ij9gd3v basically.
by just listening, gibberish .. may be because on nomi . or older on nomi . but by looking the text , we can make sense of it .
they sound like southern chinese dialect . some of it same ..
This is true except for the parts of the text which are phonetic transcriptions of sanskrit words. They usually don't make much sense in Chinese either. In the case of this text, "han nya ha ra mi ta" is a rendering of the original title "Prajñā-pāramitā" - notice that not only the consonant clusters are simplified but also all p sounds are replaced with h. "Sha ri shi" is a creative half translation of the name "Śāriputra," "shi" being the translation of the word putra which means "son" and so it retains the original meaning of "son of Śāri" (interestingly, Śāri is the mother's name). Finally the mantra itself, "gya-te gya-te hara-gya-te hara-so-gya-te bo-ji so-wa-ka," is also phonetic rendering of the sanskrit "gate gate pāragate pārasaṃgate bodhi svāhā."
WOW, awesome Ty so much for this Video

both wrong, it's the Japanese pronunciation of the original Chinese text

So basically its classical chinese characters chanted with Japanese pronunciations called Onyomi, resulting in complete gibberish in both Chinese, classical Chinese, Japanese, and old japanese.
It is Empty of Meaning? Oh mamma!
So beautiful. Especially because it is in Sino-Japonically-pronounced classical Chinese. [corrected😇 correctly I hope ]
It's actually not. It's in Sino-Japonically-pronounced classical Chinese. These are not Japanese words being spoken; they are Chinese words pronounced according to the Japanese readings of the Kanji used to write them.
/pedantry
and it's Buddhist religion from India so we're all over the place here.
"Every Japanese man is born Shinto, gets married as a Christian, and dies Buddhist"

MM!! No,they are Sanskrit words
Are they even breathing??
you take a breath when you need to. There are so many chanting nobody notices the slight pause of any one person.
+Silent 1 Circular breathing is what we call it
@@prof.yurivaldesalvarezarza3998 that is not circular breathing tho, circular breathing is used when playing a wind instrument because you can store the air in your mouth, here you cant do that because you have to have your mouth open in oder to chant the right syllable no?

I'm Indian.
I don't know why it's sound like Vedic sutra and mantras.? Please anyone know answers me.
because it contains a lot of sanskrit.
Because it was originally Sanskrit, and is based on Sanskrit models.
Google Shingyo Buddhism. The history is really interesting. Thanks to a Japanese monk Kukai who travelled to Tang Dynasty China & he managed to preserve this site a. That is the rough history, there are still many history behind it
Shingon absorbed the Vedic model. It simply takes the devas as described in many Vedic texts at their face value. The devas are said to arise and have a lifespan to them. Again, Shingon takes this at its word. Transscendent to all of this sits countless Buddhas and Bodhisattvas with Mahavairocana Buddha (Dainichi Nyorai) at the center, and as the Source.
The Goma fire ritual, methods of chanting, etc, are often reminiscent of Vedic culture, as esoteric Buddhism did come out of India.

the "PRAJNAPARAMITA HRIDAYA SUTRA"
is a hindi word? i use words like these in daily life here in india
It's sanskrit :) the pronunciation would be slightly different from Hindi but it would still be familiar enough to native speakers. For example, prajña from Sanskrit would be pronounced pragya in Hindi.
