Momma figured it out. The cuckoo has an orange colored mouth. Her chicks are yellow. Cuckoos are known to eject the other chicks from the nest. So many chicks still there. Cuckoo's failure. Momma's win.

@jamespwickstrom8731 it does look like it must’ve been fed, but based on how much the parents are ignoring it, im guessing it was probably fed in the beginning but not now. Perhaps the imposter was impossible to recognize from the other chicks when they just hatched. Even now they look quite similar. A small part of me does feel a little bad for the bird though… it didn’t ask to be born into that life. But that’s how evolution works.
The con artist's obvious frustration is so sweet. We as humans would kill anything that tries to stop our children from being fed. That little parasite has quite the ego and to see it be crippled with every failed attempt to steal is so delightful.

I have to agree except for this one is human intervention. They put the babies back in the nest. Most likely the cookoo then instinctively kept trying to push the babies back out causing it to tire out as it wasn’t eating since it was still trying to push the babies out that this person kept putting back in the nest.
That's a very conscientious mother bird. She has that baby cuckoo on a strict diet so it does not overpower the nest. She is making sure they all grow that the same weight.

There is a second reason when cuckoo chicks flap their wings it mimics a sharper cry. Which makes the parent feed the chick or hunt even more…but this cuckoo for what ever reason didn’t take out the real chicks So its tricks arnt working because the parents can look at it compared to their own and think either something is wrong with it or they know somethings up.

They are just trying to make their chicks grow and develop faster by feeding them more and larger food so they can fledge before the cuckoo mother realizes it’s been found out and kill the parent chicks. They should feed the cuckoo their own chicks poop…lol

Baby birds can't digest their food completely. So when they poop out the sag thing, it still has nutrients from the meal. The parent birds don't hunt for themselves while feeding their chicks, so this is how they eat. They literally feed each other.

It's a cuckoo bird. It's not actually related to other birds on the nest. The way they multiply is by laying egg on other nest and by that way other parents bird will likely care for their young. But, on this video it is the opposite. Mama bird ignoring it. Hahahaha
I'm surprised the other chick's are still in the nest they usually get kicked out by the invader bird. You can see that its mouth is a different color maybe the mom thinks somethings wrong with that one. I'm sad for the invader but more happy the 3 little birds didn't get killed by the invader bird

I think the mum and dad feed the foster cuckoo chick occasionally, just not on camera. Very smart birds! It seems that the cuckoo bird that laid the egg did not come back to check on whether it's chick was being raised, or perhaps the mother was predated on by other predators that eat birds! If this had been a cowbird egg that had hatched a cowbird chick, I'm sure the cowbird mother would have forcibly killed off the other chicks. Very big difference between two parasitic species, as one does check it's young, the other does not. It looks like the cuckoo chick did get fed for a time, presumably, the parents ignore it's attacks on them, they "wised up" so to speak. Either the cuckoo chick will have to leave and feed itself, or die, or possibly the mom and dad birds will eventually feed it enough to fledge. They certainly know to prioritize their own chick's development!

The chicks are now far too large for the cuckoo mom to try and take revenge after it's chick dies.(which I hope happens soon)

哈哈，这窝鸟的视频我看过完整版，鸟妈聪明，意识到不是自己孩子，所以每次喂养都是优先自己孩子，剩余食物给杜鹃吃，长得比较慢，不然其它鸟早被他谋杀完。
