    The sword is also a thing, really nice ! Back in her prosecution she said she was not a saint and i suppose Type moon read some piece of text on her psychology. One other thing funny is that Jeanne alter avenger is a good hearted person even if she is violent. Because Gilles de Rais could not think of Jeanne as a bad person.

      @kylepessell1350 Před 8 měsíci +14

      Well when it comes right down to it, Jeanne is so pure-hearted that even when her alternative form is consumed by rage enough to not forgive those who betrayed her... it's still a righteous anger which stops short of anyone who isn't the focus of said anger. Jeanne Alter still struggles with the general hatred that most Avengers have to deal with but her base nature is such that she's far less likely to direct that hatred towards innocents.

  • @mojavefry2617

    What’s funny is that Jeanne Alter is also a bit more accurate than Jeanne even is.
    Jeanne liked cannons. Like, a lot. Big boom booms. She also could have quite a temper, such as when she would chase hookers out of the camp with a sword.

    You know it didn’t even occur to me just how weird her helmet design is until you pointed it out. I do kind of wish FGO would add more of the older events as permanently playable, because I don’t actually know anything about Summer Jeanne beyond the memes and a few cameos in later events.

      I started playing this gamey in June 2021, with my first event being Gudaguda 4. This means that I managed to also get to play the rerun of Summer 3, which is where Summer Jeanne debuted. I also got two of her in the rolls - later two more, making her one of my strongest Archers. Anyway.
      She's a Manga artist together with Marie, which ties into the main plot of Summer 3, which involves a convention in Hawaii where lots of servants are trying to get the most sales of their own Mangas. If memory serves, it is actually among the best of the Summer events. Oh, and the welfare servant is Summer Jalter.

    Hey, I notice you forgot about Jeanne’s appearance as a Lancer in Fate/Samurai Remnant, and how it contrasts with the other 2 forms of Jeanne we know (Ruler and Avenger). It shows us 2 things not mentioned here:
    1. Jeanne is utterly incorruptible. Even when her summoning is tampered with, she herself is not fundamentally changed, further emphasising that Jeanne Alter is indeed a fantasy even within Fate.
    2. La Pucelle can be activated from a distance, which doesn’t matter all that much but is pretty cool.
    I don’t think this changes much, but ig it is worth mentioning.

    • @rebelblade7159
      @rebelblade7159 Před 9 měsíci +8

      The part about "Jeanne being incorruptable" is quite sketchy given how Shakespeare broke her using his NP as well as Ruler's 3rd interlude where Jalter and Mephistopheles construct a scenario that would lead to the possibility of an alternate Jeanne being summonable possible. Plus, its hard to call true Jalter in FSR "corrupted" given how she wishes for Chiemon to find salvation while still having no wish for the grail herself. That and Apocrypha has a lot of screw-ups with her character like the part about her not being able to fall in love and how Revelations are used.

      A Mad Dog? Jeanne was noted as being quite aggressive, which did throw people off a bit. She was also noted as being able to make good use of cannon, which was a pretty new weapon at that point. It was a case of the amateur doing unconventional things, since Jeanne was not taught the "proper" way of doing things.

    The "d' " in "d'Arc" is actually a liaison of "de" which translates to "of". That's where we get the English name "Joan of Arc", a literal translation of Jeanne d'Arc. Jeanne d'Arc was a young girl who was actually extremely intelligent and charismatic, if not hot-tempered. I think we should have the strongest attacking servant ever...
    Also, I think making a more insecure Jeanne would be a side to her interesting to explore. She was only 19 at the time of her death. The most touching moment of her life, at least to me, was that during the coronation of king Charles, her father was pleasant, and that realistically, she wasn't the one to hold the banner because she was a woman, but would have been in the crowd. And I think it's a much happier thought imagining her reconcilling with her father and giving him a hug than holding that banner. Also, when in Donremy, she actually had plans to marry a boy, who ended up suing her for breaking her promise when she left for her mission. I think Jeanne d'Arc sacrificed would could be a normal life for her to embrace greatness, at the cost of family relations.
    I think this more vulnerable, insecure side of her would have been interesting to explore, from a story telling perspective. Also, like, this super badass girl being deep inside still an insecure teenager who with a heartbreaking break up and who wants hugs from her dad underneath extreme bravery and power would be so touching and cute.

    A few things; La pucelle is her NP in Extella. Thankfully you can revive her with a command spell.
    True name relevation, or true name discernment as its also known, is actually not a skill tied to Jeanne herself; it comes with her Ruler class. It lets a war's active ruler see the True Name of servants in the war.

    True Name Discernment is a Ruler specific skill for the Intended purpose of Rulers in standard Holy grail wars. As the mediator, she is given the information of other servants to have the advantage against rule breakers. The NP strength down is from knowing a servants name giving you an understanding of thier possible NP/skills, but its not always a critical skill. In Fate Extella she loses to Nameless, because knowing Emiya's name doesn't give any advantage against him since he has no famed strengths or myth based weakness to exploit.

    Gotta re-evaluate Jeanne for getting offensive buffs lol. Also the part where "Why is she so tanky?" comes from parts how she would tank hits from attacks such as arrows or the famous part about her character when she jumped out a tower to escape the enemy. So basically she did fight in the war herself and suffered heavy injuries without dying
    It's mentioned in Orleans that Jeanne had her stats lowered because she had been summoned into a time where she had just died not so long ago so all the buffs a servant gets through history recognition or land, her parameter's are low and doesn't have her abilities she'd normally have as a Ruler. So that certainly plays a part for her Fate side of psychical strength
