Q: Can you get banned for doing this?
A: No
Q: Will it transfer achievements?
A: No, but you may unlock some in result of doing this. For example, on GTA IV, one of the achievements is to get $500,000. When I loaded the save I unlocked that achievement, but I didn't get any others.
Q: Can I still unlock achievements after I have transferred the save?
A: Yes.
Q: Can you transfer a full game or DLC?

A: Unfortunately, Xbox One won't let you move saves between the Xbox hard drive and memory stick, so it is impossible to do this on Xbox One.
Q: Can I be signed into Xbox Live whilst playing on the save game I just transferred?
A: Yes.
Q: What can I do if my account got banned and I deleted my account off my Xbox, if if it says my profile is an unknown profile?
A: Either use a hard drive transfer cable instead of using a USB memory stick.
Or press 'Y' on the hard drive in the device selection screen and then transfer to the USB memory stick. Everything will be selected so you have to unselect everything and then select only the game files you want to be transferred.
Q: Does this work on Mac?
A: No, Horizon is only Windows compatible.
Q: Does it matter that I only have Xbox Live on one of the profiles?
A: It doesn't matter if either profiles have or haven't got Xbox Live.
Q: Does it work if the save is going onto another Xbox?
A: Yes.
Q: Does this work on PS3?
A: No.

A: No because the only thing you are modifying is the save.

A: Make sure you are signed into the profile the save belongs to.
Q: It's not working with my save, what do I do?
A: Ensure that you're using the correct save file, make sure that it's the original save and not a backup of the save as it won't work with the backup.

When I inject my file, it still says Unknown on the new copy.
For those that have this same issue, you need to drag the save to the grey area, and make sure the numbers by Profile ID match the correct Profile. Once they match, it'll automatically show the profile as the one you've injected it to.

For anyone having issues on windows 10, this program was designed for 7. So right click the Horizon desktop shortcut, go to compatibility and run for windows 7, then follow the tutorial as the profile window will show up rather than asking to overwrite an existing file on the flash drive :)

You are a game saver. I made an offline user to make a second character in Fallout: New Vegas. This playthrough ended up being the only one to survive Bethesda's Save bloat issue, and now that I'm transferring to my Xbox One, I couldn't transfer my main Courier because of the second profule.
It worked! I was trying to download the DLC for Skyrim but couldn't because I was not able to access Xbox Live on the account I had all my Skyrim saves on. Besides some issues with having my computer recognize my flash drive (which I eventually resolved), it worked like a charm! Thanks so much man!

Gotta love it, I'm trying to move some of my game's data onto my xbox one through cloud, but only one of my accounts have gold. So I'm about to do a lot of transferring.

I imagine it does, however I had the definitive edition on xbox one so it didn't transfer over since I had the normal version on 360
I did everything you have done but it doesn't transfer it to another profile. It just extracted on to the PC and injected it again to the Flash drive

It's 2020 and it still works! ...with a little trial and error. The download link listed in the video description now goes to WeMod instead of Horizon(they're the same company). Horizon can now be found here: www.wemod.com/horizon
I suspect the reason people are having trouble is due to minor compatibility issues, as Horizon was not designed for Windows 10. I tried several different things, and got it to work by doing things in a very specific order. I followed the tutorial up until I pulled the new save file into the grey box. If the data says "unknown" for the profile ID, manually set the profile to the save file by clicking the "change" icon in the lower left hand corner. When I clicked "saved, rehashed, and resigned" it asked me if I wanted to overwrite the existing data. I clicked yes, and then it threw an error message. After that, there was only one save file in the device explorer, and the profile said "unknown". I then had to drag that save file into the grey box, manually set the profile to the save data by clicking the "change" icon, then again clicking "saved, rehashed, and resigned". It again asked if I wanted to overwrite. I clicked yes, and this time it saved. When I transferred it back to my 360, the save data worked on the new profile! I had to do it this way with every one of my saves, but they all worked on the new profile.
Note: Unless your 360 game is an Xbox One backwards compatible game, your save data WILL NOT WORK on the Xbox One version of the game. I transferred all my data to my Xbox Live account through the cloud. I could see my 360 data from my account on the Xbox One, but it will not load on the Xbox One version of the game. It sucks, but that's just how it is.

@@ginagrimes.6912 are you signed into the profile that the save files belong to? You should be able to copy the save files to a USB flash drive if you are signed into that profile.

However that can only work to transfer on an xbox live account and my lvl 50 gunzerker was on an offline account. Anyways this might sound confusing but yeah.. Hi. When I click "inject" on the gamer profile I want, and then select the game file, I get a message that says "[game file name] already exists on the destination device. Would you like to overwrite it?" If I say yes, it says it "successfully transferred the file to the USB device" and it seems to just make another copy of the game file on my USB with the same "unkown" gamer profile. What am I doing wrong? I can't seem to follow your directions because of this.

SOLUTION: you must change the Profile ID, Device ID, and Console ID manually on your save file. You can find/edit these fields by doubling clicking on the save and the profile in Horizon. Then click on the save/rehash button.

THX SOOOO MUCH FOR THE TUTORIAL :P It helped me recover a skyrim save from an old profile that was perma deleted. However tis a little outdated, all you need to do is put both the profile and the save in the grey area and copy the account ID into the account ID of the save. many tx, you should do an update though as it would have made things easier knowing that things had changed xD

No, that shouldn't cause any problems. A couple of people have commented previously that they have done this (with other games) and it's worked.
Any other way of doing this? New Xbox update doesn't need your flash drive to configure and horizon cant find the USB's now because of it.
Could this be a tactic to bring over archivements? Like moving to a new save will unlock all of them on another account? I did it, works and got some new achievements. But all the smaller ones have to be triggered else where which I annoying

When I do this, there isn't a second file for the game under the username that I want to play it as, it's just the one "unknown" file.
Does it not help that both the file have part of the same name in them? (for example (for privacy reasons) original: Johnsmith, the other profile I want to transfer to xXJohnsmithXx, I realize that's cringe but it's just an example)
Or did I do something wrong?

This is very unhelpful. I want to know how to remove the avatar from my profile so that it no longer has a look. My avatar looked like the "create new profile" avatar but now someone in my family messed it up and I want to know how to change it back or move the data to a new profile with that same avatar. Do you know how to do that? Can you help me?
As far as I’m aware you’re unable to transfer/copy avatars across profiles. The only way to do this would be to manually change your avatar back to how it was. At the time I made the video, you were able to ‘mod’ your avatar which will give you more flexibility to what you can change; I don’t know if this still works though.
Will this work for moving an in game player profile to another account? Like a terraria player?
I no longer have the account for the save I wanted to use again, crysis 2 game. I removed the account last year since it had an old email on the live, I couldn't login or what ever, I had no choice I think now. So can the save be used somehow without a profile connected with it. This video is all about transferring a save with a profile connected with it, where as I'm trying to use the save file with different profiles recently created.

Alright maybe you can help? At 3:11, when I inject my profile into the extracted save, (ASSASSINSCREED4SAVEGAME1A) It says,
Assassin's Creed ® IV Black Flag 1A already exists on the destination device. Would you like to overwrite it?
All it does is... nothing. I presume the destination device means the USB, of course. I don't get that popup at 3:21 about the profile. It just says,
"The following packages were successfully transferred to USB Storage Device: Assassin's Creed ® IV Black Flag 1A

It doesnt seem to work for me, i tried to transfer one of my minecraft worlds to my main account from my old one, but when i try to inject my profile into the minecraft world file, it still says Profile: Unknown on the minecraft file, any help?
Idk why I did all of this and other videos from other people, and I had an Update on minecraft (the aquatic update) I did everything correctly, my vanilla world is 10-11 mb and when I open the world, it says: generating spawn area and takes 1 minute,then it finally opens and the world is resetted. What do I do now?

Hello I started playing morrowind on my 360 with my old profile offline( the email doesn’t work for the account). Now morrowind is back compatible on Xbox one and I’d like to play it on there with my new account. Just to be clear when I put my new account on the 360 and transfer the data over from my old profile, it will also transfer to the new account on my Xbox one, correct?
As long as when you transfer the save over you save it into your 'Cloud Storage' area (at 4:15), it should then be available on your Xbox One. I don't have cloud storage configured on my 360 so it doesn't show up as an available area.
I dont understand very much, but your pplayer1 is the profil you want the content to be transfered or the onw that receive the content

It deleted all the files on my flash drive after I took it out and tried putting it into the Xbox 360, when trying to put it back into horizon, it says there's no device plugged into the computer, even though it's right there. Now all my files and saves I tried to move are completely deleted.

Make sure to set your profile as the preferred profile. That is the step missing in the video. Otherwise it keeps the same user.

Maybe you can help me a little extra. What I'm trying to do is simply transfer worlds in Minecraft from one of my 360 profiles that is not Live onto my main account that is Live and is also synched with my Xbox One. That way I can hopefully go to my Xbox One and play my 360 world. However, after using Horizon and getting the world injected into the new profile, I wasn't able to transfer the profile back onto the console from the flash drive. It just says "this item can't be transferred between profiles" or something like that.
For the second question, you need to make sure you’re signed into the correct profile, this should be the profile you want to the saves on; for me this was ‘player1’, for you this would be your main account.
Once you’ve got this stage done and you’re able to load the world using your main profile on the 360, then you’re done, with this video anyway.
You then will need to transfer the world to the Xbox One. There’s some information on how to do this on the Minecraft website. I have Minecraft on the 360 but not Xbox One and I’m not familiar with transferring Minecraft worlds from the 360 edition to One.

Hi, I'm trying to transfer a saved game for FIFA15 to a profile but the dialogue box at 3:22 does not show, hence I cannot select a profile to use. Thereafter, it just prompts whether I would like to overwrite the file in the destination. I select YES and it says "Transfer Complete".
When I try to has and save it, an error message appears, ending with "because it is being used by another process"

First of all, just to check that you have moved your profile (you want to the save on) to your memory stick, if there's no profile on the memory stick then dialogue box won't show up. Second, try running Horizon as administrator, this sometimes resolves issues like these. Third, at 3:42 in the bottom left of the box it says the profile, you may be able to go to 'Change' or 'Manage' to change the profile that way. Hope this helps and resolves your issue. Let me know how you get on.
Hi, do you know how to repair CORRUPTED PROFILE without LIVE? Is there any way to repair that in computer? Or what about change samething in a new profile to make it looks like old one ... so I can play all my saved games. Do you have any idea? I never make a LIVE acount so I dont have a back up.
I don't know if there is a way to repair a corrupted profile, but if you skip to 3:37 in the video there's a 'Profile ID' box. I'm not saying this works, I haven't tried it myself, but you could try and trick the Xbox, thinking it's another profile:
If you copy your corrupt profile onto a memory stick as well as a new profile you just created. Plug your memory stick into your computer and open Horizon. Drag the corrupt profile (like I did with one of the saves) into the grey area and copy the profile ID. Then drag the new profile you created into the grey area and delete that profile ID and paste in the one from the corrupted profile. Then click 'Save, rehash and resign'.
Like I said, it may not work, but what have you got to lose?
If you want to transfer the game saves from the corrupt profile onto your new profile, by following the video, but it won't let you copy the saves over onto your memory stick because you need to be signed into the account, then there is a way to copy the saves across to your memory stick without being signed into that profile:
1. Go to ‘System Settings’ -> ’Storage’ then hover over your hard drive and press ‘Y’
2. Go down to ‘Transfer Content’ and select your memory stick
3. Go down and press ‘X’ on EVERY folder to unselect everything in that folder, e.g. Games and Apps, Profiles, Videos etc. Make sure you do it on every folder
4. Then go into ‘Games and Apps’ and select the game for the game save you want to transfer onto your memory stick
5. Once it’s ticked, press ‘B’ to go back and press ‘Start’ on the right
6. It will then move EVERYTHING from that game onto your memory stick
7. Now unplug your memory stick from the Xbox and do the computer part (1:30 in the video)
Because every file from that game has been moved to your memory stick, make sure you to it with the correct save you want to do it with
8. Once you have finished doing the computer part, plug the memory stick into your Xbox to move it back
9. To do this, follow the steps 1-5 again but hover over your memory stick in step 1 rather than your hard drive
I hope this helps you, sorry if it's a bit confusing. Just follow the steps and it will work.
I've given you two suggestions, hopefully one of these will help you out!

When you "extract the file" and it asks you to save the file, save it as a different name than the one it wants to save as. Then, when you go to "inject" the file, it won't ask you to overwrite and you will have two separate files on the usb.
this is confirmed still working with borderlands 2 (w all DLC) and latest 360 firmware. the trick is before you rehash and resign you need to force it to switch to the new profile rather than unknown profile. also in latest xbox firmware if you want to move a save file to usb you need to be signed in as the user who saved it otherwise you get an error

MAKE SURE ITS A COPY NOT THE ORIGINAL FILE, just in case, things do happen :/....
I did everything up to the point where its supposed to be 2 files on with the new gamertag and one unknown well all mine were unknown so i double clicked on the save file and it open the part where you would drag the file into the grey area and in the mini window that popped up i went the area that says "change" with the pencil next to it and clicked on the profile from unknown to the new one THEN clicked on save/rehash/resign and said it would replace the file and i clicked YES and it disappeared and did it to 12 toons ( the old account was all messed up and couldnt move it to XB1 so made a new account to recover my lost stuff) and after i was done i plugged it the xbox 360 and all 12 were playable and now moving them to xb1. Hope it helps.

I don't know it doesn't allow sending to other profiles, I have lots of saves lying dormant because my old profile got deleted behind my back (but not the saves)

Yes that's fine, one of my accounts got a permanent ban (for modding my gamerscore) and it won't let me connect to Xbox Live, but still allows me to sign in offline so I was able to move the save to the USB.
Yes what about the achievements can we still get them back.
You can still unlock achievements, but it won't transfer achievements you have already got from your other profile.
It's a bummer that we cannot delete our achievements if it isn't our game.

Hey, sometimes things like this happen, it is vitally important that you "save, rehash and resign" the save you are doing this with (as shown at 3:32 in the video) if you didn't do that then it will cause that error to occur. The best thing I can suggest is just to attempt it again and it might work, ensuring you do every step. Also, is the save you're doing it with from your Xbox or did you download it off the internet to use on your profile? And this may sound silly, but just double check that you're trying to load the correct save and that the save you're doing it with isn't an autosave file as this may also cause the error to occur. Hope this helps and you can get it working.

After I clicked decline, on the last page an error sign came up it says "the setup files are corrupted. Please obtain a new copy of the program" I am using windows 7. Can u help?
Maybe when you downloaded Horizon it didn't download properly, try downloading and installing it again to see if that works. Alternatively, try using a different web browser to perform the download on, and instead of declining the last page, the setup may have been changed and you have to accept it now instead.
i just got a new xbox 360 but i need the games off of my old xbox but i dont want to use my old hard drive is there a way to transfer games to a new xbox without license transfer?
If you sign into the same Xbox Live account on your new Xbox, you will be able to re-download the games, or copy them across with a memory stick. You can then also copy the saves across (without needing to follow the video) as you will be using the same account.
My computer seems to have problems downloading Horizon. Once it gets to preparing your installation it freezes. Any advice or is this most likely a computer problem?
I've never heard of anyone having that problem before. Is it an old computer? And what operating system do you have, i.e. Windows 7, Windows XP etc? Yes, it is almost definitely a computer problem.

This works for almost every game, but there are some, such as Forza, which it doesn't work on. And if you try and load the save the game just crashes. What game are you trying to do this with?
Yea i did everything and the saved game Is blank and when I click to play game it says has ""Minecraft: Xbox 360 edition" has failed to load, and cannot continue ." please if someone can help me out on how to fix this that would be great.

ive it 4 times still get the same thing. this item cannot be transfered between profiles.
my old profile ive been locked outer as my email was hacked into. hotmail refused o let me into the acount to change it. and xbox has refuesed to help me due to lack of info but it was bout 4 years ago it happened so i can only rember my sercurity questions and answers but to both of them it is good enough. i rid this it said unknown when games on my cady and when tranfering it. i dont fancy doing all my final fanasy again on my hubbys profile who is only one with live
That's because you need to be signed into the profile the save belongs to. So make sure you're signed into the correct profile when you try to copy the save across to your memory stick.

when i open the game (forza horison 2) and it tells me to pick a save unit i pick the one with the save on it and it just boots me out of the game... please help
I've looked into it and a lot of people have had trouble doing it with Forza. It sounds like Forza has its own game code that allows it to lock profiles by ID to prevent transferring the game saves to different profiles. So, I don't think that there is a way to do it with any Forza games. Sorry.
