  • Hello Friends!
l cleaned an incredibly dirty carpet today. The carpet was so dirty that neither its pattern nor color could be seen.
Since the carpet was so dirty, l resorted to methods that would mak my job easier.
l wash with plenty of foam with this method that l have used before, and with the heat generated while the foam forms, it provides an extra stain removal feature as if l had washed the carpet with hot water.
    Thank you for watching

William I agree, an ordinary carpet or rug wouldn't be so dirty you can't see the patter. The foam thumbnail caught my eye.

I don't know where this person is located, but in the Middle East some of these carpets are used by GENERATIONS in marketplace scenarios. As such, they are high traffic and exposed to the elements year-round in addition to seasonal flooding. I can understand the cleaner asking to clean them to show his skills, and I will give him the benefit of the doubt about it being real or fake. I just enjoy the process.

Just my 2 cents here- Make a raised rack from plastic chicken wire. Lay the rug on it face down. Run warm water into the rug through the backing and let gravity remove most of the dirt and particulates. It will save you alot of money in cleaning product and its easier on the rug. It was always our first step when I did restorations for a company back in my youth.

To the many who can't seem to wrap their heads around how these rugs can get so dirty, it would make more sense if you've ever helped clean up after a flood. You'll see a lot of this sort of damage everywhere. Just take a moment and think about what happens when an area floods. The damage left behind isn't just water. It's mostly filth and mud, and other gross things that many of you may not want to imagine. Valuables get covered and destroyed by mud.

And how do you find the most filthy to attempt to clean??? Just wondering... Also, won't that foam/dirt clog the pipes when you push it into them?

It seems to me that the cleaning process could be much enhanced by the use of a perforated back plate on which to spray the carpet while cleaning, allowing the mud to drop off and drain away instead of accumulating in a puddle underneath. Would have sped up and simplified the process immensely. Then hanging the rug and cleaning both sides under pressure with an automated spray bar that would push the dirt to the bottom on both sides simultaneously. Cool Video.

If you think about it, no matter how strong a hose is, it comes out stronger when it's narrow. If it shot out more of a wide angle, it would have to shoot farther & would lose the pressure. It's fine on pavement, but jobs like this getting into fibers is different.
