  • I promise, no funny business - this game uses a deck of cards, and it isn't klondike.
    This is Gridcannon and the rules are simple. Overthrow the royals.

    I say that Aces should be a value of 1 and the 2 jokers are similar to bombs. Using those would take out a harder royal card that might make you spend more time trying to kill it.

    A note according to the revised rules on Tom's website:
    When you placed your first armor card (the 3 of diamonds) the rules state that you must place it on the royal most similar to it. In that moment that would have been the jack of diamonds. I kind of like having the choice to place it on any royal you want however.
    Additionally the rules don't specify if you are allowed to place armor while still having ploys (or power cards) available. Since they score your game at the end though it makes sense you can choose to place armor instead.
    Are there any rules revisions you've made that make the game more enjoyable other than the stated above?

      @kosterix123 Před 3 měsíci

      I would say "If you have a ploy, you may either add the card as armor or use the ploy during the placement of the card.
      RAW You're not allowed to choose the royal, it's suit first, color next, then any royal, ties break by lowest value."
      my interpretation: Lowest value, not lowest health.

      yes to place armor via a recipe kind of takes away agency without a good reason. You're already in trouble as it is, and the luck of the draw can be already brutal.

    i'm a bit confused about using jokers. for example, i have a pile with a top card that i'd like to move. after using the joker for this, can the card below the top card become a trigger? or can a card only become a trigger if it is placed down? if it was already there previously, it won't count?

    • @kosterix123
      @kosterix123 Před 3 měsíci

      RAW: "placing it can trigger an Attack the same way a normal play can. " so the card what spot it ends up on top of, triggers both the row and the column.

  • @bullfart9221
    @bullfart9221 Před rokem

    Sometimes I like to play it reverse with only being allowed to place cards on numbers lower than a drawn card on the grid, or matches

    • @kosterix123
      @kosterix123 Před 3 měsíci

      that would be confusing as hell. Thematically you would have an ever more dwindling grid, and if your deck starts with low numbered cards you are screwed.
