from what i see consistent bowlers are those who have simpler style. STRAIGHT HOOK ROLL like norm duke, walter ray williams jr, parker bohn etc. Old school is still the best.... consistent
Randy alluded to Ryan Shaffer carrying better than Walter. That shouldn't surprise anyone. Ryan does a way better job working the inner half of the ball and generating a strong, continuous, forward rolling ball with good angle. Walt comes up off the back, or even the side of the ball sometimes, and therefore will not carry as well. Walter is obviously the better overall bowler, but Schaeffer's actual ball roll is better than Walters, and better than most.
These are the two most consistent approaches to bowling. Legends of the game.
