Norm is the most humble bowler ever. So friendly, passionate, and an absolute legend. Duuuuuke will always be my favorite bowler.
Well im gonna be the one to comment on a *verified* youtuber
Carson Claws I see you on a lot of random bowling videos I watch Carson! I guess just since you don’t ever really talk about it on your channel, I had no idea you were such a fan of bowling dude. Do you bowl league? Or did you bowl for your high school perhaps? What’s your average? Any 300’s or 800’s?
I met him when the tour came to my home lanes back in the day. I was a scorekeeper. (We didn't really keep score just kept track of re-racks and stuff) Anyway super nice guy talked with me a bit. Duke will always be one of my favorites.
Same here. The man has class. Duke has been my favorite since day one. Not only because of how great he is, but his personality and attitude.
Amen. Greatest bowler to ever lace up a pair of bowling shoes
Oh man Duke is a loverly guy and the way Walter runs for the hug is so great! Two brilliant bowlers and two great guys!
Beautiful!
My favourite televised 300 game! Love Norm Duke. What a talent!! 👍👍
What was the score after they finished.
@@Sooty-Emperor 300-213
Duke is the master of playing almost anywhere on the lane. Hand, axis, he's the master of doing these.
7:28 WRW congratulates Duke for basically winning the match right there after the 8th strike, now with the match settled he can relax and enjoy watching Duke go for the 300. Then he plays Duke's line on his last ball for a strike! Possibly the most fun he ever had losing.
11:05 I love how much Norm feels happy about that winning & perfect game. Pure.
Love the amount of respect Walter and Norm have for each other.
The simplicity, consistency and versatility of Dukes style are unmatched !
Norm Duke is just the best. I love how genuinely happy he is, and when I go to the PBA semifinals and finals in May, hopefully I get to meet him face to face and tell him thanks for all the joy he’s brought me. Such an amazing man!
I spent many years bowling regionals in the West and Southwest regions. Meet Norm many times. He is a very genuine, sincere individual. Never get tired of watching this.
You may have seen that the announcer stated that this was the 15th, not 16th, TV 300. The reason is that on May 3, 1997, Jason Queen bowled a TV 300 at the ABC (Bud Light) Masters in Huntsville, AL. However, that event was not sanctioned as an official PBA event at the time. In May 2008, the PBA retroactively upgraded the Masters to PBA event status, and statistics for all PBA members were adjusted accordingly. One of those stats, of course, was Queen's 300, so every TV 300 between Queen's achievement and the May 2008 retroactive upgrade (eight total) was shifted back by one. Hope that clears the confusion.
Duuuuuuuke
oh yea yea
Henry👤💄💐💋🚗👙💍👫
Bowling is so cool cuz everyone, the bowlers the crowd, the commentators, the cameramen all have banter with each other
Man I still got excited and i saw this one live on tv when it happened. Nice to see someone bowling strokers lines on tv. Gives me something
To look at for my own game.
yeah, I was going to comment that it's unimagineable that the modern guys could possibly play that line.
Gotta love Norm, and you gotta love Walter Ray’s reaction. Pros all the way, but also great respect from years of success & struggle.
Class act, Norm. Great bowler with charisma, personality, and character. I like to meet him one day. He has done just about everything in bowling. What a monumental career he has.
It’s absolutely nuts how he tripped that 4-7-10 on the 5th frame...I’ve never been that lucky...
I watch this every Tuesday before league play.
Get goosebumps every time I see this video and how Norm just went up and did his job
And I love it when the audience say “Duuuuuke” every time he bowls, that’s the best part and the best part seeing him bowl for my hometown the “Dallas Strikers” and for shooting 300.
I admired you a lot Norm and I still do.
I'm glad I got to meet this Legend. His knowledge of the game and skills are amazing. Seeing his "Towel Shot" live and twice with 2 strikes is also a thing of beauty.
Duke and Petraglia. Two of the nicest guys in any sport - same with Walter Ray. Duke and Petraglia were able to make the transition from the old lane conditions, and balls, etc to the current lane conditions, balls and other equipment. Norm looked like he was back old school with that game. What a great way to be able to change with lane conditions. No one has had more 300 games thrown against him on TV than Walter Ray. Amazing. I grew up watching Earl Anthony battle against Mark Roth, Marshall Holman, a young Pete Weber, and others, including both Duke and Petraglia. Walter Ray ended the argument over who was "the best" when he said hands down it was Earl. A classy statement. Earl didn't start on the tour until after he was 30 years old! Plus, as Walter pointed out, Earl accomplished what he did in such a short, condensed time. Around 15 years, with most wins coming in the first 10 years. I watched many tournaments in the 70s and early 80s where first place was just a few thousand dollars. As noted by the announcer, imagine Earl's career earnings in today's age. Earl made a living by being a human stroking machine. A totally different style, so comparing then vs now is complicated and probably not necessary. Two different eras. Conditions may have drastically changed, but it still comes down to consistently putting the ball in the pocket. Great to see the sport remaining popular.
Duke is my favorite of all time then comes Petraglia and WRWJ. All classy gentlemen who are animals on the lanes. I also love the respect they have for each other. All three of them are pure people
Class act!! Such a humble ambassador for professional bowling!!
Petraglia, Hoskins and Duke is what WRW was talking about. Those 3 televised 300 games came bowling against WRW
Add Wes Malott to the list who bowled 300 against WRW.
That was a lot of fun to watch. It was funny to watch Walter Ray Williams and Norm Duke hug because Norm Duke is 5'4" tall and Walter Ray Williams is 6'2" tall. I liked Walter's sense of humor about how Norm was another bowler who bowled a 300 game against him. You can tell that they're friends. 👍🎳
Two legends
Norm Duke always seemed like one nicest guys ever in the PBA.
I love Norm Duke, he is the best bowler I have ever seen 😄. Also I know he’s retired, but it was nice of Wes to let Norm shoot the last throw from the PBA League 2022.
i want to be able to have that much joy for my first 300, and my 35th 300 game like Duke has
how do 5 ppl down-vote this?? did they not like Norm's shirt?? :)
Maybe because they moved ahead to the second frame?
Bradley Coopersmith I like the video BECAUSE of the shirt.
Kevin Scarborough Nah, probably because of Randy’s commentary
Duke If His Shot Is There Have A Seat And Admire Greatness One Of The Greatest Ever Pete Sr
great 300, two class bowlers.
Belmo (the clown) and Rash (perfect name) could take some professionalism lessons from these 2 guys for sure.
Norm and Walter. The class acts of bowling
Both Goats!
Something I dont get. Why did it say Norm bowled the 15th 300 game on TV but this video is named "300 game #16"?
Got the answer. The PBA didnt count Jason Queen's 300 for a while due to him being an amateur
Which brings up another question. Did they give Jason Queen his bonus money?
@@chucky1119p probably not. Any excuse.
Absolute LEGEND. Norm is the MAN.
I'm going to see him at my star bowling tournament he's going to speak there
I love this sport 🙌
I love the walter's last shot. My favorite bowling game is it.
Dream scenario, George Wendt walks into a bar and everyone yells “Norm!” Then directly behind him Norm comes in and everyone goes “DUUUUUUUUUKE!”
DUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUKE
I wish I was near good enough to throw the line Duke was throwing. I’d be chucking half of them in the channel.
Norm Duke bouncing around like Susan Boyle on Britain’s Got Talent. I love to see that child-like behavior in adults when their guard goes down and we get to see what they’re really like.
Fun Fact my mom and dad played with Norm Duke in a pro am in Portland, Oregon before I was born
This is the 3rd time Walter was on the short-end of a televised 300 game.
11:03 when u just said u passed 12th grade in front of 1,000 people
Thank you for sharing this incredible match! But tell me- how did you photo shop Norm's voice and install Mickey mouse?.
All hail the DUKE!
My favorite righty ever
The funny thing is that the first ball of Walter’s 10th frame was his best shot of the match.
Why did the telecast say 15th 300 game but the YT title says 16th???
I miss espn classic
Norm duke was very excited after that 12th shot
I love how he knew it was a 300 sonthrew his hands up.
11:01 Duuuuuke gets the 300
The show says it was the 15th 300 but the youtube video is listed as the 16th 300.
lowshay PBA didn’t count Jason Queen’s for a while since he was an amateur and it was during the Masters
@@nyrambler23 Thank you for that. I learn something new every day
11:07 perfect bro hug
El maestro Yoda en acción.
"Hacer o no hacer"
Belmo is the best shoot 300
Wasn't this such a great time for the sport?
There should be "less room" between the bowlers and the crowd! I mean really Walter Ray and Norm have room for a chair placed sideways and maybe a foot between the approach and the crowd! Too much luxury for these PBA Divas! .....Geez! Give the guys some breathing room!! 😳😳😜😆
wait... so I'm confused. Are you saying they need more room, or not?
Reason being, "a foot between the approach and the crowd" really isn't that much room. And not really sure what "a chair placed sideways" means?
People often mistakenly misuse the word humble when modest is the correct word. Being humble means thinking of others as much as you do of yourself. Being modest means a lack of boasting or bragging in an overly self-centered way.
1:44
Ooh ooh ah ah
What?
Dang there are no arrows nor dots on the lane
There there
You can't bowl without them.. take a closer look. They are definitely there
Noooooooooooorrrrmm
So how many people have bowled 300 against Walter Ray on TV?
3. Petraglia; Hoskins, and Duke
NORM DUKE WINS $10,000 BONUS FOR 300 GAME 9:42 10:21 11:01
NORM DUKE WINS $10,000 BONUS FOR 300 GAME 9:42 10:21 11:01
If you're gonna lose, there's worse ways to lose than against someone who bowled a 300 haha
Hoskins 300 was better
