It has only been 2 years, and it's clear they're just busy making the systems for the game. I'll take great skate mechanics over graphics any day.

They're working heavily on the microtransactions, no time for textures.

You missed a key part of the question skateboarding gameplay is not talking about skateboarding they are just showing the game it would be nice to see the bts with mocap and what they are bringing to skateboarding sims like adressing skater xl or session @ABrokenTV
Because skating is secondary to them, what they're really making is a vehicle for cosmetic mtx. Skins are the real product.

Its a really low amount of people that is working on this game and im sure they dont have the budget of something that respawn does this is literally a indie dev team having the access to big companies on the skateboard industries thanks to EA other wise this will be another skater xl or session situation

This is still a pre-pre alpha. Trust me, there will be plenty of improvements before launch.

Looks and feels as if it's a Tony Hawk gameplay in some shots.

EA BLACK BOX was the original developer of the Skate series which were great. How about either get those devs back in action or get help from them? It seems like the ones in the video or the actual devs know nothing about developing a skateboarding game.

1) That is a ridiculous assumption to make towards any developer, but Skate have already made several nonchalant and casual announcements so this would take considerably less time for them anyway.
2) Public opinion has and will continue to become increasingly negative. Try reading some of the other comments.

The best customization I've seen in a skating game was in TH: Underground because of sheer variety of options and how crazy they went with it, which to me is very fitting to a skating game. Skate 3 customization wasn't great but it did have some funny & silly outfits that you can unlock (like the meat man outfit), the fact that @7:32, the guy is surprised that the skeleton outfit is so popular really shows how out of touch they are with the community, also, he talks about it like he's never played Skate 3??

Do people realize that just because they are showing pre-pre alpha gameplay doesn't mean that's what point of development they are at. Most of the time companies show older footage, the FF16 teaser was gameplay from like two years before that point.
They meant the playtest was going to be available on console and pc.
