This is great, I was thinking of getting a Cal Kestis saber from ArtSabers but were debating whether to get the clean version or weathered. There are some things I do not like about the weathered version but I thought I could fix it. I think I might get the clean then weather it to the way I like it. This video was very helpful, thank you!

Just a little tip straight from working months at EDIT: a certain scifi theme park weathering stuff... Transparent (yellow/red/brown/etc.) Iron Oxide acrylic. It is amazing stuff. We went through gallons. Regular acrylic looks more like opaque dirt. The iron oxide paint will create multiple different shades of the color from just one making it look realistic.

Cals' saber is next on my list. I want to try using the existing grip as a mold, and cast a rubberized version to put over the existing one.
I have the 89sabers Fallen V3, and what I did was use Plasti Dip spray on the grip portion. Gives it a nice rubbery feel.

Amazing realistic results! i was wondering. What kind of paint is it? is like a paint for metal surfaces? i'm guessing is not the kind of paint you use to do paintings :)). I'm thinking of doing some more weathering on my already wethered saber.

lol I am not putting my sabers bottom part in a flame is there an alternate way to bend it outwards?
No idea. It’s the best way I know how to soften up metal.
Can you apply paint without sanding it down?
You can but it most likely won’t stay well as you would be putting paint on top of a finish.
I get dry brushing plastic to give a metallic effect. But this is already aluminum. Why the silver paint?
Sorry if that came off sounding weird. I’m in the process of weathering mine and wanted to see if you tried and if it just didn’t work right. Thus the paint instead. Trying to keep from making a mistake.
