The fact that you can hardly get it out without getting emotional speaks volumes. Working with family isn’t always easy but if it means that much to you all then you’ll make it work. I’d go with your gut about the building and get somewhere slightly bigger than the one you showed or I think you’ll end up tripping over each other a bit with the gear you mentioned in there and enough space to work around it. Best of luck with it and if you ever need a workshop away from home in the Carlisle area while out and about you are welcome to pop in and use our gear

Good luck Baz. I had my own electrical business in the eighties, couldn’t compete with cowboys. Customers wanted cheap not quality. I can see you only do quality, hope your customers appreciate that. ( I packed in, went to uni and became a chemist…retired and happy now)!

Baz your dad’s dream will be huge. One good accountant a good location and you will be away. It takes time to adjust to working with family 2/3 years but once you do you learn to fly.

American mushroom farmer here! Baz my wife and another couple traveled to Portugal a few years ago..Porto, Lagos, Lisboa, Cascais (my favorite). Loved every minute of it. Europe is a beautiful environment, full of all cultures. I’m disappointed, but not even a little surprised that many American tourists are not fun to be around. I am hitting UK, Madrid and Barcelona in June don’t think it will happen, but it would be the vacation of my life if I had a beer with WelderFaber…or the Director! Love your skill, your mentoring, and your attitude, and wish you all the success in your new venture.
