Iâm so surprised you havenât read anything by Seanan McGuire! I feel like you would love some of her books. I love the idea of clearing the mental space as well as the physical!
I know I'm behind the game. I'm debating waiting to just binge the Wayward Children series all at once when all of them are published. I think I'm going to love them!
I felt exactly the same about the ending of Midnight Library!
I'm glad I'm not alone. I've always heard such good things so I just never brought it up before, but I just think it had so much potential.
That copy of The Final Strife is to die for!! I have a lot on one of my wish lists that I have no idea where they came from. Luckily it's not a list anyone else can see so I won't accidentally acquire them. Not that people buy me books generally but even so I wouldn't risk it. I quite like having a space to put all my random adds... they eventually get added to a list I would buy/pick up from the library from or get deleted.
I think that is smart to have a place to put your thoughts on what you may or may not want to add to your collection. It allows you to really think about it before purchasing anything and I find lists like that helpful when people ask me about birthday presents and what not.
i loved raybearer and the final strife sounded similar but i had to bow out in the prologue
They do have a similar premise, but I didn't find them similar at all. I loved Raybearer!
Iâm sure I have some books on my Goodreads want to read that I can get rid of. I have heard so many mixed reviews on The Midnight Library. Iâve had it on my shelves for years. Iâve read 3 or 4 Wayward Children books and I think theyâre really fun. I didnât care for The Cabin at the End of the World either. Iâve heard Head Full of Ghosts is good đ€·đŒââïž
Ya, I would say skip The Midnight Library. There are better books out there.đ€Ł Good to know about Wayward Children. I think they look intriguing and perhaps will be light fast reads. I'll keep Head Full of Ghosts in my pocket for when I go to pick Tremblay up again. Thanks!
Must be the spring cleaning season vibe - I cleared my Goodreads and library tbrs earlier this week. I have been moving into some different book interests lately, so am not as interested in some previously saved books.
Woohoo!đ„ł I love to hear it! It can be refreshing to clean out the old ... mainly just to make room for the new.đ€Ł It is interesting how our reading taste evolve.
Iâm planning on doing something similar soon and this video is really motivating me!!
Happy to be the motivator!! Woohoo!!đ„ł
I also liked Shadows Between Us but didnt feel the need to continue with Daughter of a Pirate King
It was a little lack luster for me, but you can't win them all I suppose!
bye , Felicia
I agree with The Final Strife - I read it for a book club but would have dnfâd otherwise. The tone just wasnât for me. I likely have some books on my TBR that Iâll give a try but will probably be dnfs because I bought them before I discovered booktube. I understand my reading taste a lot better now so books Iâve added more recently have a higherâsuccess rateâ.
Ya, I wish it would've worked as I really enjoyed the premise. That is one of the many things I have learned to love about Booktube. I do think that it is more rare for me to pick books I absolutely dislike now that it used to be. I also am quicker to DNF books now than I used to be.
I thought the same about The Midnight Library. I enjoyed the possible lives but the ending was too simplistic. I'm not saying you should reconsider, but The Rage of Dragons has almost no dragons. It's more of a revenge tale, with lots of training and fighting in a military school, with a limited about of warfare. The worldbuilding is original but the speed with which the MC increases his abilities might not sit well with you, and there isn't lot of depth to him. I liked it but haven't read the sequel, yet. I definitely get sucked into adding books quickly then question if they're really my thing.
I'm glad I'm not alone in my assessment. I've always heard amazing things, but I just think it could've done more.
Good to know! I do like a slow burn when it comes to characters figuring out their abilities. And I do think the MC having little depth may be a problem for me. That may be why I like chonky books, I like to sit with my characters more than the norm. Thanks for the information!
witch king is now an standalone but an author i follow on twitter is insinuating that it will be a series
Interesting, especially since I haven't heard great things. Well I hope that as the series continues it does well. Maybe I'll be enticed.
middle game book 3 is out this year
You will have to let me know what you think. I will enjoy the series from afar!
see i hated the in my dreams i hold a knife and loved the last house wife i def rec the audio! if you give it a shot!!
Thanks for the rec! I want to give the author another shot, I just think it may not be with that book.
@@Danni.Dabbles Her new on is on my tbr i will report back
bummed that daughter of the pirate king wasn't for you. I think it was earlier in their career maybe that's why
Ya. I will continue to pick up Levensellar, just not this particular series. I have really enjoyed their other books.
Oh yeah if you donât like cult books then def donât read the last housewife- itâs also really dark and triggering
YES GET RID of CABIN. Worst book to ever exist
Glad I don't have to worry about making the wrong decision with these. đ€Ł
i like matt haig on social media but i don't want his posts as a book
Ya it wasn't my favorite. I can understand why others may enjoy it though.
i bought the midnight library from a thrift store and i think it's also in my unhaul pile without me even reading it đ„Č
That is the correct choice Ana! đ€Ł There are so many better books out there.
