I can kind of understand where the gf is coming from given her background and the fact that he had already had his time to grow his wings as it were - and it sounds like he was pretty explicit about what he got up to. If he wanted an emotional and a physical relationship with someone else he should have ended the relationship immediately; it is selfish otherwise. He never should have got back together with her given her abuse by her mother (and it is abuse).
