Hi Karen ... I have only been painting since October but I've been following your tutorials and had a lot of fun copying six or seven of your landscapes ... I'm always amazed when the painting comes to life in front of my eyes and resembles yours somewhat ... you've given me the confidence to try landscapes on my own, which is my New Year resolution (a lot of my Christmas presents consisted of watercolour equipment), but I'll continue to watch your tutorials and keep practicing your techniques ... thank you.
I am so pleased for you Kevin! Well done... I hope you continue to enjoy your watercolour journey! Thank you 😊

Thank you, Karen, I learn something new with each of your tutorials. I have always loved your atmospheric paintings and have tried each of them. The only pictures that I have painted where I have felt confident enough to hang on the wall were from your tutorials I followed. This tutorial is giving me more confidence with my trees. You're welcome!
6 handy ways to explore making trees 😀
Ace!
I'm looking forward to trying these techniques. I can always use help with trees! Interestingly, the natural sponge tree is my least favourite, perhaps because it has so little variation in texture, and indeed I've always been a bit disappointed with my attempts to use a natural sponge. I don't understand why it is so popular with watercolour artists.
I love using a natural sponge and some are better than others and this can affect the results, if you find a natural sponge that works well, don’t loose it! It can create amazing trees 😀
Thanks once again Karen. I love your tutorials. I was slightly surprised you didn't use a fan brush as a speciality brush though, can you say why you didn't?
Thank you Sam! I prefer using the fan brush for fir trees or similar 😀
Thank you so much for this tutorial, I’m definitely going to give it a try, I’m wondering what kind of brushes you use for doing the watercolor 😊
Thank you Linda! You will find all of my materials in the description which I hope you will find helpful 😊
👍
When the canopy of the tree is not so dense and the sky is seen through the foliage: is it better to paint the sky first or later fill the gaps in the canopy with the sky- colour?
Yes you can do so
@@KarenRiceArt Thank you, but not only for this answer, but for all of your generous tutorials. You are not only great painter, but also great teacher!
