Love that you respond to the feedback from your previous video! That’s what shows you’re genuine and willing to grow! That’s what BACKPACKING (day to thru and in between) will do to you! =D
Long day hikes (12-16 miles) my 28L is perfect for all-season hiking with my dog. Sometimes in the summer I want something closer to 18-20L, but in the fall/winter I usually have higher volume gear and pack a down blanket so like the versatility of the size. I can always compress it.
Love mine. Listed at 63L, but I can just use the main compartment and it cinches down and carries like a 40L for going ultralight. Or use every inch and take my luxury items with me. Most versatile pack I’ve ever had.
Son, whoever told you fanny packs were cool in the 90s , they lied. I have a beautiful leather one I got in Mexico in the 90s, and I wore it for years because it was super convenient. But I assure you, even at the time, I was very aware, it was never hip! 😁
I'm a 48 L. Osprey Kestrel fan. It's not an ultra light pack, but most of my trips are 3-days and I come in at 38 pounds. Luxury items include a frying pan and a Eureka chair. And wine. And steak for the first night!!
I just picked up a Gregory Baltoro 65. I’m really happy with it. My kids aren’t quite big enough to carry much of a load yet. I’m hoping the extra capacity will allow me to carry some of their gear and let us all get outdoors more. Cheers!
This is very well timed for me! I have most of my gear collected, except for my pack. I’ve stared at the pile of stuff and tried to envision how big a pack I would need…. and beyond that, I am very bad at judging what “50 liters” etc would look like. Thanks for the visual examples!
Im not a thru hiker of months long trails . Usually in Summer I go to Hike various Trails in Scandinavia within a Timeframe of 4-5 weeks . I travel with my backpack as carry on . Therefor I take carbon stakes ( no problems in airports ) and use carbon 48inch poles to set up my tarptent because no trekking poles in carry on . I go with a 40L or 35L pack and I buy the Food at the Destination. My fav backpack is the LiteAF 40L but for Day Hikes and or 1 Overnighter I will get the Waymark Mile .
Nice to have an assistant help with filming! So much easier/quicker. I came SO close to getting that Atmos but at the time, the price was just too much. ( Wasn't sure if I was going to like backpacking. We have a Decathlon that zips down the middle... super convenient. Great video!!
Love seeing so many of your packs! Right now I’m getting by with just a 33 liter and 70 liter (both osprey). But really want to fill in the gaps for more versatility. Just have to convince the mrs that backpacks are a solid investment! 😂💸💸💸
As a backpacker/prepper/survivalist I have many different size and types of backpacks because it depends on the use or function. Will it is used for hunting, recon, bushcraft, get home bag, INCH bag, day hike, overnight, multi-day, tent or hammock,, summer or winter, etc. It's crazy!!!
The Atmos 65 was my primary pack for years. Now I’ve got a Shadowlight 60 and I’m loving it. I’ve still got a Coleman 85 liter pack from back when “ultralight” was 40 pounds…
My Dana Design Astral Plane is 114.7 L. It's a load hauler. Made for expedition style mountaineering. If you ever needed a pack to carry 70 lbs. comfortable (that term is relative) it would be a Dana.
Great video once again! Looking good with the fresh trim and contacts!! Hope your happy to know I’m now completely set up for backpacking this summer! Base pack weight so far without clothes and a few things is around 25 lbs 😬 that’s what you get when you can’t afford UL gear!! Keep it up big dog! Hope someday we might meet on the trails!!
You had me at the word backpack. I like that shirt brother. Oh my goodness the famous Gonex Backpack!!! Osprey is such a great company with great backpacks. Cool video and Go Cats!!
good info Jeremiah packs I have an Osprey Aether 70/ Kestrel 38 both amazing packs. but you got me thinking (this makes my head hurt) about getting a new pack the GONEX 55. And fanny packs just No. but would do a Hilltop packs fanny pack. Stay safe my friend.
I go with my Deuter Aircontact 50+10 and I absolutely love it except it doesn't have enough external lash points. Other than that, I think it's perfect for me.
I have this same pack and I hate the thing. The hip belt pockets are useless. You can’t reach the water bottle pockets without taking the pack off. The “lay it on it’s back and load it from the front “ feature is basically useless. I’ll sell you my pack so I can put the money toward something else.
@@JeremiahStringer yeah and so tough the warranty is fantastic i can load up to 80 pounds and still wont feel it its so weird even went soaring of a cliff about 180 meters down only a small puncture in the front stretch pocket
I already have a backpack, but imma watch anyway! Lol
First btw!
Ps you look better without the beard bro! His beard is weird 😂
Appreciate the support, Brandon :D Yeah my wife doesn't like the beard XD
You can ALWAYS get another backpack! 😂
@@DoseofDirt my wife will absolutely kill me! 😂😂
@@_Roasted_Marshmallow glad I’m not the only one in that situation! 😂😂😂
I've been a 60L guy forever. I really need to step down to the 45L since I've upgraded a lot of gear. Great video Jeremiah!
I need to do 45 L in the warmer weather too XD
Love that you respond to the feedback from your previous video! That’s what shows you’re genuine and willing to grow! That’s what BACKPACKING (day to thru and in between) will do to you! =D
Thank you, Erica :D I make the videos for both of us for sure 🙌
I was wondering if the Gonex would make an appearance!!!! 🤪
It finally rears its ugly head 😂😂

The perfect fit :D
The 63 liter ULA Ohm 2.0, has been my favorite pack so far. Light, durable, and just so damn sexy! Great info Jeremiah.
Agree!

ULA has awesome packs :D

Lol I suppose you are right XD
I think it was some kind of misunderstanding. Someone probably just misheard "put it around your hips" and thought they said, "this is really hip"! ;)
@@RannonSi That's really the only thing that makes any sense isn't it 😁.
Fanny packs are practical and fun. Cool is a state of mind 😎. Rock that pack son!

All great luxury items!!
I’ve used the osprey aura for 5 years the women’s version! It’s held up great. It is heavy but I’m not doing thru hikes.
My wife loves hers :D

I am a minimalist, only thing i take is a duce scoop and TP nothing else
Love the duce scoop. I use the deuce of spades :D

So thankful for Bridgette :D Yeah the entry level price on packs in general is a bit steep IMO

Jeremiah do you have any experience with Mammut packs? Particularly the Trion Spine packs.
Never heard of them
Dont think the chicken tramper will hold up to my usage haha i use a osprey xenith 105 liter comfort level max
Also have the daylid option and the hydration bladder with 2 cnoc vecto 3 liter bags and a sawyer filter for makeshift gravity filter
I love my Osprey too. Super comfy. Heavier, but carries weight so well :D
