@@elinagilgur301 not anyone, but they also weren’t trying to get rid of it. A lot of older hoops heads don’t know or care about what he did…they’re just fans of him and what he did on the court. There have been a lot of athletes or whatever public figures that have done horrible things that a large portion of even fans of that sport don’t know about. Or they separate on court from off court.
Obviously what he did is significantly different than others. I wouldn’t buy it, I wouldn’t hang up a free Malone anything. But if I got a Vick signed jersey I’d hang it up. Not comparing the two but some may, especially bc he did time. The whole Ray Lewis thing was sketch and who knows what rly happened, but he was in some way involved (whether just wrong place wrong time, or his friends did it, or acquaintances idk) in the death of another person. I don’t know that much about the case. But some ppl might not buy a Ray Lewis piece of memorabilia bc of it.
I’m not a massive NFL fan, and while Ray Lewis was a fun player to play w on Madden and he was one of the next to do it, I wouldn’t seek out a signed whatever of his. I wouldn’t for Vick either, I’m not in to memorabilia rly…but a free Vick? Sure. A free Ray Lewis? I mean idk, and that’s not me drawing lines here, just wouldn’t be that excited over it. Nor would I over the Vick but to me he’s cool enough and a part of my childhood enough to take it.
So everyone has lines they draw, and not everyone keeps up w that stuff. It was honestly kinda shocking how many ppl had ZERO idea about Karl Malone’s past when ppl were talking about him at ASG etc. I saw soooo many ppl even on social media who had no clue. Is a lifelong Jazz fan who’s like 40-50yo rn gonna know? Idk. Some will some won’t. I guess just make your own decisions.
